A scholarly study of a middle child turned from bright and creative to aggressive and adrift by the hauntingly systematic targeting his family subjects him to. Rather than discuss or openly acknowledge that the father's health is precarious, "Roscoe" is blamed for all the stress and upheaval in such underhanded and insidious fashion that it made me heartsick to continue.
