Received an ARC copy for review.

This was such a quick and fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Rock and the Real Pigeon crew as they solved crimes in the city. I was pulled in from the first page all the way to the end. I enjoyed Rock, the master of disguise, and how determined he was to always help out the animals he met. He was a comical character.

Also on the crime-fighting pigeon team: Frillback who was a super strong female pigeon, Tumbler who was known for her ability to bend and

Super fun book about a crazy gang of pigeons who get up to all kinds of adventures. Part mystery, part adventure, totally hilarious stories.

REAL PIGEONS FIGHT CRIME is a hilarious and entertaining cross between graphic novel and picture book. The book is told in three parts, with each being its own inclusive story with a conclusion. The Real Pigeons are crime fighters who recruit Rock from off the farm for his ability as a master of disguise. The team solves crimes in the city in a way that is delightfully fun.

The images are sketched with plenty of comedy and animals. These pigeons are unbelievably expressive, and this will make the

This is a great new illustrated series for independent readers featuring ‘Rock’ - pigeon, adventurer, master of disguise.

In three inter-connected stories Rock and his new crime-fighting friends solve the crimes affecting his new home: a city park.

With crows, bats and photographers Rock and his ‘Real Pigeons’ keep the park free of mischief.

The final story is explosive and there is some great phrases and language for younger readers.

My favourite feature of this first book in the series would

OK, so *I* haven’t read this book, but my kid (age almost-8) got it last night and is already on p. 114. He got home from school today and picked it right back up. “I love this book,” he said. So there you have it. Perfect for kids who liked Bad Guys and Captain Underpants.

Seriously loved this fun book. Wonderfully written with great wit that kids are going to love.
Hopefully will become standard fodder for all children, especially reluctant readers as this is another example that books can be fun, as well as imaginative. A fabulous starting point for any reader!! I want more.

I love this hilariously silly and very pure series about crime-fighting pigeons. It has everything – a flamboyant master of disguise as our lead, THREE deceptively simple but gripping mysteries, and the naughtiest baddies you've ever seen (who definitely get their comeuppance). Perfect for kids as young as 5, but entertaining for any age group!
A book that is perfect for reluctant readers, Real Pigeons Fight Crime is a fast-paced, hijinks-filled romp, following a team of crime fighting pigeons as they solve one mystery after another in this chapter book hybrid.

Bold drawings accompany engaging text, as Rock, the new recruit to this crime-fighting squad started by Grandpouter Pigeon, leads the charge with his ability of disguise. The pigeons encounter a "haunted" park, a bat trapper, and some danger at a food truck rally. Each of these

Real Pigeons do what?
They fight crime, keep the streets safe and save your butts.
Wow, I thought pigeons just looked weird and did bird stuff. But after reading this book I now know so much more about how awesome pigeons are. Real Pigeons are Real Funny

An old pigeon named Grandpouter recruits a crack squad of super pigeons to fight crime. They are:
Rock – a master of disguise and attitude, dressing up to fight bad guys.
Frillback – super strong, sausage eating, crime fighting hero.
Homey – super

What I Loved: The illustrations in this book were AWESOME! They were fun and quirky, and really made me just want to look at each one!

How I Felt: Real Pigeons Fight Crime was just a ton of fun to read! I read this book and also had my 8 year old son read it. We both agreed it was a 5 star read! The pages fairly illustration-heavy making this a great book for a young reader just starting chapter books, but it’s also great for a higher level reader as well!

The story was fast-paced and hilarious.
There's something terribly charming about this graphic novel featuring five pigeons. Grandpouter, Homey, Tumbler, Rock, and Frillback are busy solving mysteries in these three interlocking stories. In the first one, they must figure out why there are no breadcrumbs at the local park. In the second story, they must identify the person or animal behind all the bats being trapped and removed from the area. And finally, in the third story, they foil a plan to disrupt a food truck fair with a stink ...more

Pretty sure this is going to be hugely popular, especially with the The Bad Guys: Episode 1 crowd, because this is kind of like a trying-too-hard version of that. It's too long (why not three books if you have three separate plots????), the font isn't my favorite (it's cramped and kind of hard to read sometimes), and the humor didn't really appeal to me (the naked pigeon butt at the end will absolutely get laughs from the target audience, but it just weirded me out). I don't think this will be ...more

Rock Pigeon loves to dress up. Is it a rabbit? Is it a chicken? Or is it a pile of leaves? No – it’s Rock Pigeon!

When an old pigeon (Granpouter Pigeon) approaches Rock about his disguise skills for a top secret Pigeon Crime Fighting Squad, Rock isn’t sure. But he’s soon working with two other pigeons, Homey & Frillback on three separate cases.

Why aren’t there any animals and people in the park?

Who is capturing all the bats?

What is ticking in a boy’s bag at the Food Fair?

Ever passed by a gaggle of pigeons and wonder what they are doing? Why do the pigeons act so weird? It's because they are secretly fighting crime. The park and its visitors are protected by a group of pigeons that fight evildoers. They help solve mysteries and ensure everyone is safe.

The illustrated book was a fun and delightful read. The book had three mini-stories with a conclusion but, each story was tied to each other. I found the illustrations to be fun especially, seeing the antics of each
My kids didn't really like this one overly much. It got a little chuckle on the second page, and that was sadly about it. I did think my son would love it (being a huge fan of the Mo Willems pigeon books when he was younger) but he was indifferent. I liked how elements of the story rolled over into the next story line, and the ridiculous costumes were a hit.
It's amusing, and well drawn, but not something that's going to be a household favourite.

An absurd and hilarious collection of stories. Found the sort of comic vibe super engaging and the little annotations and asides added to the hilarity. I'd love more stories about Jungle Crow and Mega Bat! And the pigeon characters genuinely stayed with me and made me pay attention to the antics of actual pigeons.

I can see what McDonald is trying to do here - if you have kids that have enjoyed WeirDo, The Bag Guys and maybe even Tom Gates, then this might still be worth picking up. But the plot and the characters were just really lacking for me.

Loaned to me by a student, he thought it was hilarious. Took me a while to get into and work out which pigeon is which. Good idea but for me didn’t quite gel,

Omg. Hilarious little book about a crazy gang of pigeons, some bats, some crows, some garbage cans, bread crumbs, and the worst of all- human beings!
This was a nice quick read for younger kids. The graphics where pretty fun. The story was cute and funny at times. It prefect for little kids who is into graphic novels reads.

Heel grappig, echt perfect voor kinderen die minder graag lezen. De tekeningen zijn tof. Het voelt als half strip, half verhaal.

The title really says it all. You thought they were just loafing around eating bread crumbs, but really, pigeons are protecting the world one park at a time. My 1st grade nephew loved it as a readaloud and stretchingly can read it for himself.
