Judging by the diner sketch on the cover, I expected this to be about southern restaurants. Instead, it is a compilation of recipes encountered in southern cooking, with the odd exclusion of any mention of that acquired taste, boiled peanuts. The illustrations are excellent, the narrative a bit long-winded.
