Always be yourself

That was the last advice Scout's Grandma Nora gave her before she died. Scout has spent her life trying to be anything but, but she has a chance to start anew as she moves several states away to college. She had always thought the glowing aura she saw around some people was a childhood fancy, but when it starts coming back just as she's starting her new l

This was quite awesome.

As a girl who loves all things paranormal, especially the unique paranormal this was fantastic.

First thoughts: I thought this was a sweet NA Paranormal romance, with adventure, unique characters, creatures, and the beginning of a really kickass series. This is the first and there was a lot of introductory things but it also opened up this world to so many possibilities and this book itself had a great pace that kept you wanting to go on. I thought it was really amazing

2.5 stars -- well crapballs. I hate it when I don't end up enjoying a book that my friends have enjoyed...makes me wonder about myself. I really should have just DNF'd it, then I wouldn't have to give it a rating, b/c I almost rounded up b/c I feel guilty for not enjoying something others did.

It was the writing style for this one. Well, not just that, but that was a biggie. Hence why I should have DNF'd it, b/c sometimes you can just tell when you're not going to be a match you know? But it had

Disclaimer: I am the editor of this book.

It's not hard to have a favorite character in this book, but I can promise you that readers' favorites will be across the board. Pierce balances between sweet uncertainty and confidence in his relationship with Scout. Scout is almost always confused, but determined to push through no matter what. Lachlan's shirts crack me up. Val has been broken so deeply, but finds her family in this unlikely crew. Grammy is a firecracker. Dara is spunky and caring. Gavi

I was given an ARC of 'Unless You Can Be a Unicorn' from Delphina Henley, in exchange for an honest review.

WOW what a story, a different set of shifters... 'Unless You Can Be a Unicorn' was my introduction to shifter Unicorns! I loved how Delphina also threw in some other paranormals (well that were mentioned), wolf shifters, vamps & even a dragon... 'Unless You Can Be a Unicorn' is book 1 in Delphina's "B3" series, I highly advise you start right here, especially if your a paranormal genre

"Sleepless night! Could not stop reading this book!"
This is such a incredible and whimsical Shape shifter romance!. It has Amazing Characters in it!. And a really charming story line!. Scout is a spunky young woman who is not like other people. Every sense she was little she could see glowing people no one else could see. The only person who believed her was her grandmother Nora. Her Grandmother taught her how to deal with it and to fit in. Her Grandmother was her best friend and everyday they w

This review is for all those people who read the title, Unless You Can Be A Unicorn, and balked at the work of art Delphina Henley has given us. I, like you, had my doubts. I implore you to look beyond your first impressions and read this book. You will not be sorry.

On the surface it is a paranormal/fantasy romance. But once you start peeling back the layers, you find Scout, a lonely college freshman who just wants to be normal. But what is normal? Who says seeing glowing people and unicorns is

There was a lot of potential, I was just dissapointed. Very anitclimatic , realistic in many situations and thought process not like when you watch tv and you see all the plot holes. It needs to go to an editor one more time only a two plot holes - easy fixes and as few misspelling or weird sentences that seemed stunted.

The characters were...good. I enjoyed that she never just bam mastered her powers and how to use them is the strongest or anything like that. butt like huge butt here-the romance

This one is a work of art!
Delphina Henley takes a story and weaves it around the characters so well that you are feeling every emotion that they are feeling; fear, joy, exhilaration...love. I couldn't put this one down and I read it in a 24 hour period. I am already impatiently waiting for the next one!

Unless you can be a unicorn is the story of Scout and the complete reboot of her life after the death of her much loved grandmother.

My rating for this book is 2.5 stars

I picked this book out for the sole reason that my daughter is obsessed with Unicorns and I thought perhaps it could be a good book we read together at some point... I was in essence screening it I guess.

Scout has always been the odd child, when she was young everyone thought she was crazy. She would randomly see people glowing and as a child would do, she wasn't afraid to mention it. Her Grandmother took care of her the majority of her life, so it really took a toll on Scout when her Grandmother passed away and left her a note to explain some stuff she hid from Scout.

Moving off to live in a college dorm opens Scout's eyes. She's starting to see the glowing around certain people again. She's not

I loved this book. I am a huge fan of unicorns, have been all my life, and to read a story like this was just wonderful.
It was a totally different take on what you always imagine a unicorn would be. If you have an awesome imagination this book is for you. Yes it's magical and a bit dark with a touch of love thrown in the mix. The characters were great. I looooved Lachlan and his crazy t-shirts. Yep, you have to read it to get that one.

So, the story is based on a young girl who never quite fit i

I'm a huge lover of any story containing unicorns, and was excited at the prospect of a story about unicorn shapeshifters. Sadly, no matter how intrigued I was by the plot and concept of this book, I could not get past the awkward writing style littered with clichés and simple grammar errors.

That being said, I am very picky about writing style, and know that I'm more sensitive to it than most. I feel like this would be a great recommendation for anyone in the 12-14 range who might be reading thi

I so enjoyed the story of a young woman discovering who she really is on her journey to a very different life. Scout has always felt different and knew she could see things others could not. She relied on her grandma for guidance and kept her unusual experiences from others. It kept her isolated. With her grandmother's death and her move to start college, she is filling pretty lost. Luckily, she begins to see signs that guide her to people who will be important elements of her new life. There is ...more

I was so lucky and got an early copy of this amazing and fun story! All these characters are so relate-able and loveable! So fun and quirky, I found that I have a few funny words and silly antics in common with them. Plus I love some of the same books they love!!
This book starts with Scout, trying to find a place to read a letter from her best friend, her grandma that has just passed. Signs of the un-ordinary are everywhere, but just 2 lines in is all she makes it before the bomb is dropped. Eve

A magical adventure of a girl who thought she was ordinary until she read a letter from her late grandmother.
Going to college to get away from it all and have some fun. Well what Scout would call fun. Scout sees things like a glow around people stronger than before. When she gets into town a sign draws her attention to a bookstore with her name on it, advertising a job opening. How weird is that. But how weird will only get weirder as she goes through the town and meets all types of people. One

"Always be yourself unless you can be a unicorn - then be a unicorn.". Scout is headed off to college in Scotia New Hampshire which seems a world away from where she grew up in Michigan. She is looking forward to starting a new existence without the leftovers of her old life. New experiences, new friends, except things aren't always what they seem and she has some carryover she wasn't prepared for. Good thing she finds a whole new set of friends and family that can help her along and adjust to w ...more

I picked up this book because of my favorite authors recommended it and plus, unicorns. And I love unicorns! This is a really cute short read that I loved. I love the world that the author has created and am so hoping there will be more of the B3 novels because I fell in love. By page 15 I was ready to stop reading, but thought I would give it another chance. By page 32 I gave up. Couldn't get into it at all which Is sad because it had promise and it had a unicorn theme which was cool and different . The writing just put me off big time. I felt like everything was just so jumbled and not well written. Too much or something, like the dialogue needed to be shorter. Hated the babbling. Not a fan of not finishing books but was glad to stop this one. I actually expected mo ...more

I was gifted this book when I commented that I wanted to know the meaning behind such an odd title. The title works for the novel, but the story never quite grabbed me like I wanted.

The main character is a relatively young and inexperienced woman. Her tendency to just ramble made it difficult to get through sections at time. The romance had little tension. The external stress for the plot felt rushed and added in the last third of the book.

Still, the world setting had quite the bit of potentia

This book was such a fun, and mystical adventure where I couldn't put the book down. It was fresh and interesting take on the paranormal. The characters were very likable and the plot held my attention page per page. Definitely worth my time! I love it when I read a book that I feel is worth my time and pulls me into the story, where I just don't want to get out of the world that was created. Great job Delphina!

I loved this book, but I also have a thing for unicorns. I really enjoyed that this also had a bit of a darker side side to it and wasn't just the typical virgin sees unicorn book. I really enjoyed that they had different powers and could do different things with them.

I want more from this world. I want to know what happens next with everyone and I also totally want to know more about several of the characters. :) I was given an arc for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this story and hope there will be more to come! I had a hard time putting this book down once I got into the story and finished it in just a few sittings. I have really enjoyed watching how the main character grew in this story and all the connections she made. I can't wait for there to be another book about all the characters I was introduced to in this book!! I would be deeply disappointed if there is not another unicorn book in the near future.

Scout always felt different. She didn't know what was wrong with if anything. Her grandma didn't seems to notice so she went in search of friends that would help her understand. But when things started to change in her what was she going to do. Would her grandma help her. Would her friends understand.
