LOVED IT! I love time-traveling stories and this one delivered. I wish it could have been a bit longer though. Caitlin and her time-traveling adventures kept me turning the pages. The characters were great and the dialogue between them was on point! HIGHLY recommend.
Deep Echoes by Melody Ash I thought the storyline was really interesting. I listened to the audio version of the book and enjoyed both the story and the narration!
Just as she’s about to delve into a much needed vacation in North Carolina, Caitlin Benoit’s partner Sean phones her with a new archeological discovery he knows she can’t possibly refuse, in this engaging read by the talented Melody Ash.
I took to the story right from the first paragraph, impressed by Ms. Ash’s gift for dialogue between the characters - their banter is lively and fresh. Plus, the prose was spot on and enchanting at the same time, especially for this novice time-traveler reader.

Because the magical stone refuses to return her to the 21st century, she accepts the care of the slave Mitilda who finds her. Mitilda knows Caitlin is not a slave, from the educated way she speaks and her clothing. The older woman takes care of children too young to work in the fields, and tries to heal Caitlin, too.

Just when Caitlin thinks she’s about to return to the present, something goes terribly wrong, and our heroine is whisked away to...
That’s it! No more spoilers, lovely readers. I never read and tell, so please discover the same enjoyment I found experiencing Deep Echoes, and add it to YOUR bookshelf. Five shining stars awarded for this fun, fascinating story.
I really enjoyed this story. It covers a very popular topic, but in a very unique way. I enjoyed reading it a lot and wish it was longer. There will be other books in the series. Which I find amazing. I am excited to read them all!
The characters are really amazing too. I wanted to just keep reading about them. They were all likeable. There were a few characters that faded in the background more than they should for my liking. I think that's just my personal preference.
I really enjoyed this story. I recommend anybody who likes time travel type stories to read this. It's exciting and fast-paced. I read it all in one sitting. While I wish there were things that were prolonged a bit, the story was very enjoyable. I hope that the rest of the series will be as well.
An excellent story of time travel that was quick to grab me by the throat immediately and refused to let me go. In other words, it was riveting!! Lots of action even in this short novelette. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
