Along Came a Savage

Rate this book

After marrying her college sweetheart and building a successful drug empire, life for Taylor Washington, aka Tay Tay, looked perfect. The first few years, her husband Wayne treated her like a queen and showered her with riches that the cocaine brought them, but as the years passed, his abusive nature grew, just like their bank account. Even though she was fed up, leaving Wayne wasn’t even a thought in her mind . . . until she came home to Chicago to visit.

Her plans were just to come home and party with her best friend, but after a crazy chain of events, she finds herself waking up in the bed of an intoxicating man that leaves her DUI with each sip of his loving.

Tay Tay felt guilty, at first, for stepping out on her husband, but as his abusive ways continued and her suspicions of him cheating on her proved to be true, Tay Tay’s shattered heart embraced the secret life she was living, even if it jeopardized the empire she helped build.

Don’t blink for a second in this deadly heart-pounding game of deceit, lies, and jealousy, where trust could get you killed, and love is just a four-letter word.

Tay Tay helped her husband Wayne build an empire. Then he decided he was no longer interested and moved on to another woman after trying to destroy Tay Tay. Divorcing wayne doesn't hurt as bad becausecshe has Sa'vage in her life. Their ready to build a bigger and better empire. Getting back at their enemies is also on the to do list.

I received an ARC from Netgalley to read and review. To say that this book was full of drama and sex is an understatement. Please do not do like I did and read this while at work. You might find yourself looking at your fine ass coworker and getting excited, if you know what I mean. Ok, seriously though, Along Came a Savage appeared to be an interesting read, based on the reviews I read, and I decided to give it a shot. Wahida’s name being attached also made me want to read this, Anyway, this book crazy. Taylor, or Tay-Tay as she’s called in the book, is married to her nerdish businessman husband, who has a hand in the drug trade. Yeah, big surprise. She is living big and thinks the world is hers. Or so she thought. Tay-Tay soon learns people aren’t always who we think they are, and lawd, does this chick experience some ish. Betrayal and backstabbing all up in this bish. And, I did mention the sex scenes, right? This book was a bit all over the place for me, I was dizzy. The book ended abruptly with many unanswered questions that left me side eyeing my kindle.

What a good book!!! I read this in two settings. If you are looking for adventure, drama etc, it is all here. Lying, deceit, read this book to see what happens when things take a turn. Another strong book from the author. Don't sleep on this book or this author who does not disappoint. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.
