MY WAY TO YOU (Canyon Creek Series Book #1) by Catherine Bybee is the first book in a new contemporary romance series that is a powerful and engaging emotional read. I have enjoyed many books by this author, but this one grabbed me and would not let go.

Parker Sinclair had to grow up fast. Her parents were killed in an accident which meant she had to drop out of college and return home to finish raising her two younger siblings. Aft

I do like this book. I always drawn into small town romance. It provides soothing swoony and romantic story. My Way to You is no exception. It is a romance in the background of small town ranch where natural disaster loke fire and flood as a background.

Colin is the perfect boyfriend. He is strong, loyal and gentleman as ever. Boy do I love him. Parker is a kick ass heroine. Despite her shitty shit life, she chooses doing the right thing for her family. She ks fierce and independent.

Catherine Bybee has well earned her spot on my favorite authors-to-read list. I crave more to a story than just the couple getting together, and she delivers every time. There was so much heart in My Way to You. I just fell in love with all of these characters and the struggles they were going through.

Parker Sinclair is one tough chic. I want to be her when I grow up. Everything that she and her siblings have gone through would test the toughest of characters and she shined. After reading this
Wow! I mean, WOW!!! I was aware of the struggles this author went through after the fact, and before reading this book, and was in awe at her strength. Going into this story, I was unaware that her experiences were the backdrop for this particular book, though I knew one was in the making. Throughout this reading and especially at its completion, I was left speechless. Yes, this is a work of fiction, wonderful romance, and I’m sure a bit of added drama. That doesn’t negate the journey Ms. Bybee ...more
It is clear that while reading this book that it is personal a close to the heart project for the author. And CB is an exceptional writer as I have read some of her previous works and loved and liked them, but this just didn't work for me. It is clearly ME and NOT the book.

After Parker's parent’s fatal accident, she drops out of college to care for her younger sister and brother. It isn't easy. She has a lot on her plate and things are about to increase. Living in California you have two main th

My Way To You by Catherine Bybee is the first novel in her Canyon Creek series. It is also my first novel by this author and I am eagerly awaiting the second.
Based on a true story (her own personal experience) involving fire, floods and mudslides.
I love the author's perception of courage, strength, love and the importance of family.
It's a great love story too!

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for an arc of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
My Way to You is the first book in the new Creek Canyon series. This is a contemporary romance and it's my first book by this author.

I really enjoyed this book. But truthfully it was not what I was expecting. This book was so much more emotional than I was anticipating. I love books that make me smile and cry in the same story. And this one did!

The story takes place in 2016 in Creek Canyon, California (Southern California).

This book has both a male and female POV. The female is Parker (24). The

Love can happen anytime…

I had no expectations as I began this story and didn’t realize how personal a story it was…

Parker was in the middle of a disaster and her focus, as it had been for a while, was keeping her family safe and their home in one piece. She’d barely been keeping things together as it was so this was. Faced with so many challenges, when Mother Nature threatened both, she did what she had learned to do. She dug deep to find the strength and will to do what needed to be done…

A mixed bag of emotions found within the pages of the first book in Bybee's new "Creek Canyon" series. I loved the storyline and the characters, but the writing style left a void -- one I'm not exactly sure how to explain. Somehow it felt cold and monotonous at times -- and maybe that's a little too severe, but I just didn't feel a whole lot of warmth or depth in the relationship building. Too many details on the pipes, the alarms, the gates, the cars, and on and on -- especially the mud, mud, m ...more

My Way To You is my first book by this author but it won't be my last. I enjoyed this book especially the heroine's strength, that nothing seemed to really phase her. I loved that the hero complemented her. My Way To You is a sweet and wonderful read with awesome characters both main and secondary. I look forward to the next book in the series.

In Catherine Bybee’s new series, book one has given us a powerful story of one woman who has to keep her life together in the face of many challenges that come her way.

Parker Sinclair has been living life that any one in their early ‘s would be doing, until tragedy struck and she was charged with raising her two younger siblings, giving up her education and finding a job that was not really to her liking but she had to put food on the table and pay the bills. She was doing okay until a new dis

Parker is tougher than the average 24 year old. She has already been through more tragedy and tough times than most people do their whole lifetime. Instead of sinking under the weight of the responsibilities she has had to endure, she has risen to the challenge to keep on going.

Parker is the sole caregiver of her brother and sister, one in high school, one in college and with this comes the responsibility of the financial expectations for not just that but the family home they all live in. Her p

I'm sure you've heard me raving about Catherine Bybee's books countless times in the past, so it will come as no suprise to anyone that her new series is everything I hoped it would be, and more. My Way to You is a wonderful new series from Catherine Bybee. The book starts out with a family going through a terrible tragedy followed by some huge obstacles to endure and overcome. They make it through stronger and happy. I’ve never considered what a family goes through after wildfires and mudslides but I now have a very good understanding and totally feel for them.
Great book!

As reviewed at Roses Are Blue:

Two years ago, Parker Sinclair was enjoying a privileged life, attending college, and still trying to decide what course her future should take. The sudden death of her parents changed everything. She had to become the adult to take care of her two younger siblings, one of them still in high school. With a tight financial situation, Parker dropped out of college so that there would be sufficient funds for her brother and sister to attend. No

First, I enjoyed this Bybee read. She is a talented author and that shines through here. It was haunting/devastating to learn, from a first-hand account, how ravaging the wild fires we hear about on the news are for the people living through them. I’m an east coast girl, so hurricanes, not wild fires are what I’ve seen and lived through. That being said, IMO this is a bit more women’s fiction than it is romance. I don’t generally like women’s fiction, I like a lot more romance and sexy times in ...more

For someone who lives in California, and who has seen family and friends impacted by wildfires, this was a meaningful book for me. I enjoyed the deep dive into what it is like to have a fire literally up to your doorstep. And then the horror that that is just one stage of a much larger disaster.

On the romance front this one is pretty much a typical romance. Not too steamy but not without spark either.

What I really enjoyed in the book was the sense of family and the various characters in the boo

This sat on my to read list for months and then last night I picked it up thinking I'd read a few chapters because I was tired and wanted to go to bed early. I ended up reading the entire thing in one go. So much for getting to sleep early!

The characters and setting of this book are very well done. Just enough tension. Believable issues.

Love and hardship

Loved this book and it's characters. I could not put it down, the story was fast paced and very interesting. Lots of love and goodness in these characters and some steamy moments with Colin and Parker all made this one of the most enjoyable reads during this time of quarantine.

A relevant and scary look into the California wildfires!

Parker Sinclair is forced into growing up when her parents unexpectedly die, leaving her in charge of her teenaged siblings and the family home.

She’s barely hanging on when a wildfire rips through the hills behind her house, threatening everything they own. Thankfully, the fire crews manage to get it under control, but the hillside is compromised now that the trees are gone. If a flood were to occur, it would wash away their home.

5 Star Review My Way To You (Creek Canyon #1) by Catherine Bybee

This first book of the series, is also the first book I would be reading by this author, and thus was intrigued.
The story centers around Parker Sinclair and Colin Hudson.
Parker has had to deal with a lot in her young life, primarily taking care of her younger siblings , even if her dreams turned to dust.
When mudslides threaten all her hard work, she meets Colin.

My Way To You was a very emotional read, I was unware that this story hit so close to the writers home. The main character, Parker faced loss of family and was scared to also lose the family home, due to the wild fires and other property on the family land. Parker had to grow up very fast at an early age to take on the Mother role to her siblings. Parker was a very strong female. This book was a very enjoyable read, intense, humor, love. Absolutely riveting depiction of the devastation endured by first wild fire and then extreme floods. There is also a well crafted human story filled with both love and heartache. I could not put this book down until I got near the end, then I paused for a bit not wanting it to end.
Knowing this is a work of fiction based on real life events the author endured make this an amazing story. Read it, well worth your time.

CONTENT WARNING: Lots and lots of gushing ahead about this amazing, amazing, amazing story!

Since losing her parents two years ago, 26 year old Parker Sinclair has been doing a damn good job juggling all the flaming swords in her life: a 20 year old sister in college, her 17 year old brother who’s finishing up high school, a lousy part-time job that barely helps pay the bills, and an aging home on a large piece of property in the valley of Santa Clarita, California. This book should probably come with a disclaimer for Ms. Bybee's fans. It isn't the anticipated romance that she is so gifted and famous for. Although there is some romance in it, the story fits much more closely in the women's fiction genre. The reason is that the plot revolves around one woman's plight with saving her house, and her family against the fires and floods that hit her area and her home.

It's an extremely enlightening look at a subject that very few get the opportunity to be
