When eighteen-year-old Loyalty Jefferson moves from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Orlando, Florida, he doesn’t expect to meet and fall for seventeen-year-old Treasure Anderson, a shy, kind, and well-mannered preacher’s daughter who’s harboring on to her past.
To find out what happens with these two teens, stayed tuned to this season of That Bona Fide Hood Loyalty and Treasure, Because this is a season you wouldn’t want to miss.
I like Loyalty & Treasure together...K'eon got what he deserved...idk if Treasure should forgive toya...i need part two asap...i hope Loyalty & Treasure is ok...nd i wonder whats really up with Treasure parents
First time reading something by this author and let's just say I am a new fan. This book was very interesting it kept you interested in the story and the characters. Teenage love teenage problems...wild and unpredictable. Love this book . Can't wait for part 2
This book was an okay read for me... I see the storyline starting to build up... The one big problem that I had with this book is the errors...There was so many errors that it really drew away from the storyline because half of the times I was not able to figure out what they were trying to say... This was very frustrating... It did start to smooth out towards the end... So that helped a little... This storyline has so much potential I just feel like it needs a little bit of work... Treasure was a good girl... And just because she was a preacher's daughter... People treated her like she had the plague... And made so many assumptions about her... This really made her keep to herslef... Especially after what her ex boyfriend and best friend did to her... But now she has a new neighbor that her parents keep trying to push her into liking... Her eyes are a little more open... One quick meeting with Loyalty and things began to change rather quickly... Loyalty and his family just moved to get away from the danger that they were in... So they were on the run... Things were going good for them and they meet their nee neighbors and began to hang out a lot... This caused Loyalty and Treasure to continue to spend lots and lots of time together... This eventually leads to the beginning of an emotional relationship with lots of walls that have to be torn down... Tonya was best friends with Treasure... And after the eay she did Treasure... I could not stand her... And she just kept coming for her.. And for what... To keep getting her butt handed to her... Well I don't know what Tonya is up to... But I feel she is up to something... How she just gonna switch up so quickly like that and now want to be best friends again... I would definitely keep my eye on her... K'eon was so wrong for what he did to Treasure... But then I was like wait how is it that she is screaming at the top of her lungs and NO ONE hears her... But they were all in the same house in the hood at that... okay that just doesn't sound right... I am glad that Loyalty was willing to handle things with K'eon for what he did to Treasure... K'eon got exactly what he deserved... Okay so wait a minute... I can't believe this just happened with Loyalty's family... What is going to happen to Loyalty now... And what about Treasure... Will Loyalty make it out of this situation alive? I guess we will have to wait on part 2 to find out.
This book started out smooth with two teens having a crush and then finally getting together. What took a different route was the way the families interacted and the preacher's daughter laying up in there house sexing like they were grown. The parents seems to have an agenda. The rape, running from gangsters. Killing someone in the park with witness but no arrest. It just seems so unrealistic that the story just lost me. No need to continue with book two.
I didnt like it.......it came off kidish, nothing like the other bona fide series.. pure and fire season 5 are my favs.. this just was so not what I'm used to in this series.. sorry.. I won't say I wouldn't recommend this book because it's truly a host of others that find this pleasing.. but not for my over 30 behind tho..
So I finished this book waiting a few hours, idk if that's a good or bad thing since I had emotional battles with whether I like the story or not but more so just annoyed at the characters. In any case it was a good story I need to read book 2 before I can give a review
I’m so mad at that ending Loyalty mom i hope that she is not dead cause loyalty was not playing when he started shooting. Poor Treasure Keno did not have to rape her in glad she wasn’t pregnant, i hope loyalty doesn’t get in trouble. Can’t wait for part 2
I don’t think this book qualifies to be apart of the Bonafide collection.. I found my self trying to stay interested. I felt very immature reading this.
I'm going to preface my comments and say that my low score may largely be due to the fact that this story was aimed toward a young adult/teen audience and not an adult audience. I liked the good girl/church girl idea mixed with a family on the run.
Loyalty's father, a lawyer was on the run from a dangerous client and moved his family to the south. This is where they meet their neighbors, Treasure and her family. The parents seemed to have tunnel vision when it came to getting these two together. It was odd. The characters couldn't seem to find their footing and came across a bit chaotic. The first 75-80% of the book was one big loop of the parents asking the teens how their day was, what plans they had with the other and telling them not to get attitudes with them.
I'm assuming the "loose ends" (Keon, Tonya's motive for apologizing, along with the cliffhanger) will be addressed in book 2. I'll read it, because I like to know how things end. However, I hope that there is some time spent on outlining the story, adding substance, movement and character /storyline development.
You can't like them all and this was just my two cents.
