భాగవతం అనగానే భక్తి కథలు గుర్తుకువస్తాయి. భాగవతం అంటే తెలుగువారికి పోతన భాగవతమే కనులముందు కదలాడుతుంది. వ్యాసభారతం, వ్యాసభాగవతం పారాయణ ప్రవచనాలకు మాత్రమే పరిమితం అనుటలో విప్రతిపత్తిలేదు. పోతన భాగవత పద్యాలు తెలుగు వారి నోట అలలు అలలుగా కదులాడుతాయి అనుటలో అతిశయోక్తి లేదు.అట్టి పోతన భాగవతం జగద్దితం.
బమ్మరె పోతనామాత్యులుచేత విరచితమైన వీరభద్ర విజయము ప్రకారము కౌండిన్యసగోత్రంలో పుణ్యాత్ముడు ధన్యాత్ముడు అయిన వాడు భీమన్న మంత్రి. ఆయన కుమారుడు అన్నయ్య. ఆయన అర్ధాంగి గౌరమ్మ లకు సూర్యుని వరప్రసాదం వల్ల సోమన్న జన్మించాడు. ఆయన ఇల్లాలు మల్లమ్మ. ఆ సతీపతుల సంతానం ఎల్లన్న. ఆయన భార్య మాచమ్మ. వారిద్దరికీ వంశవర్థనుడైన కేసనమంత్రి ఉదయించాడు. చక్కనివాడు పెక్కు కళలలోప్రసిద్ధుడు దాత నీతిమంతుడు ఆభిమానధనుడు ఐన కేసన్నగారు లక్కమాంబను సహధర్మచారిణిగా వరించి శాస్ర్త సమ్మతమైన శైవమతాన్ని స్వీకరించాడు.
కేసవమంత్రి రాచకొండ వెలమ ప్రభువుల వద్ధ మంత్రి. ఆ కేసయ గారి ధర్మపత్నిలక్కమాంబ.సాక్షాత్తు భవానీమాతలా కనిపించే లక్కమాంబ మహా యిల్లాలు.
ఒక ఒక పరిశోధన ప్రకారం, శ్రావణము మాసం 19, 1378, ఆదివారం గురు పూర్ణిమలేదా వ్యాస పూర్ణిమ ఉదయం 10 గంటల 10 నిమిషాల శుభసమయం, అమృత‌ ఘడియల్లో లక్కమాంబ కేసవ మంత్రి దంపతులకు వ్యాసమహాముని పుట్టిన రోజు నాడువరంగల్ జిల్లా పాలకుర్తి మండలం లోని బమ్మెఱ అను గ్రామంలో చిన్న కుమారుడు గా జన్మించాడు.
భాగవత రచనా ప్రారంభము మిక్కిలి విచిత్రముగా జరిగినది. అతడా శైవుడు. విష్ణుకథలని రచింప దలంచి, గంగా సైకత వేదిపై సుఖాసీనుడై, ఈశ్వరధ్యానముగ్నుడై యుండగా పోతన కన్నుల యెదుట శ్రీరామ చంద్రుడు సాక్షాత్కరించి, మన్నా మాంకితముగా భాగవతాన్ని తెనుగు సేయుము అని తెల్పటం పరమాద్భుతం. అందుకనే పోతన భాగవత రచనకు శ్రీకారం చుట్టేడు. అందుచేతనే "పలికెడిది భాగవత మట; పలికించు విభుడు రామభద్రుం డట" అని వ్యక్తం చేశాడు వ్యాస భాగవతాన్ని యధాతధానువాదముగా కాక, స్వాతంత్య్ర విధానమున, భావానువాద పద్ధతిని అవలంబించేనని విమర్శకుల యాభిప్రాయము . భాగవతము, భక్తిరస పూరితముగాన భగవంతుని గుణగానము సేయునపుడు పోతన పరవశుడై మూలానికి తన సొంత భావాలను కూడా చేర్చి విపులముగా రచన గావించి తరించినాడు

Sivkishen Ji is the pen name of Kishen SSR. His ancestors were Suryavanshi Rajputs.His great ancestor Maharana Pratap Singh ruled for about 57 years. He is science graduate of Andhra University. He is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International and recipient of several Honours and prestigious awards including Bharatiya Udyog Ratna Human Excellence Healthcare.
