Magic is formed in the heart - specifically, in a fifth chamber tucked between the left ventricle and aorta. Like blood, it cannot form outside of a living body, and so the existence of magic loose in the world, raw and unshaped, is an absolute impossibility.

And so, when magic is discovered - raw and unshaped - loose in the forests of Turunda and tearing the land to shre

As someone who rarely reads fantasy books and isn’t a native English speaker, the Zi’veyn (or the Zikrahlehveyn ) definitely took some time to really get into. I do highly recommend giving this a read, it’s a long but very rewarding read as it really takes you on a journey through a complex world, with well thought-out characters, beautiful abandoned elven cities and different landscapes which inhabit different creatures and tribes.

This book! I can't wait to dig in to the next!
It's a long read, but it's genuinely worth it. It's beautifully written, you get to know the characters and their trials so well, and you start to see how massive the problem they face is, even as it grows bigger and bigger, more twisted and complicated. It's not just a hunt for an old relic, but for an understanding of the problem at the same time. It's so rare that the quest isn't for some solve-all weapon, that they have to THINK about it too. And

Oh gods. Honestly. This book is freaking amazing, the best book I've read in a very long time. It was exactly what I needed; a well written high fantasy with *adult* main characters. *Finally*.
My big weaknesses are complex world building and multidimensional characters that have good and bad sides, characters that aren't black & white, characters that even have contradicting traits and conflicting emotions. I love it so much.

The Zi'veyn deserves *all* of the love, and I am so excited to start t

This book was beautifully written with well thought out characters that you fall in love with and extremely detailed world building that you can easily get lost in. It is also worth noting that the author, Kim Wedlock did the gorgeous cover art and maps in the book. She is very talented and worth following on Instagram to learn more about her books, the world, art, and characters.
