This groundbreaking anthology of forty-seven short stories by women celebrates the various manifestations of the Wild Woman, who has been "civilized" out of many women in today's society. Here is an exciting combination of some of our best-known writers and some exhilarating newcomers.

After reading Women Who Run With The Wolves earlier this year, I happened upon this collection of related/inspired/curated short stories randomly on an online second hand bookshop. I don't often read short stories, but this collection, with the heartbeat of the Wild Woman throughout, is really great. Short excerpts from the original book carve out loosely themed sections, featuring an array of authors and styles and lengths of story. It's an absolute candy box.
This was a great collection of stories; there were ones that I loved, some that were good or just okay, and I few I really did not care for. Overall the majority were very enjoyable and I found some new authors that I want to explore more from. Would recommend if you like short stories or strong women.
Throughout most of this collection of short stories I felt like I was drinking cool clear water after a very long walk in the desert. As a woman, it was a wonderful experience to read stories about women written by women. One section called Righteous Rage, Scars and Survivors was a difficult read because it rang so true and was so disturbing to read. Over all, a great book especially for women.
This powerful collection of short stories highlights the awful, beautiful, disastrous, human, scarred, and glorious nature of being women in this world. In the diversity of styles and stories, throughout the book they represent the highest quality of writing in style, presentation, and creativity. Deep and delightful.
I found this on a book shelf at an Estate Sale and was intrigued.. This truly is a collection of such different stories and ways of writing that I felt I was taking on so many flavors of people. I'm docking a star just because there are a few in the collection that just weren't that great.. But I hope this book keeps being read and passed along. So many gems weaved together.
Picked up at an estate sale and finished over the course of a couple years on various vacations. Really liked the variety, but found I still hate Anne Rice as much as I did when I was a teen. Funny how some things never change.
I didn't give this collection a fair shake, I read it sitting on the living room floor when I discovered it dusting off shelves and kept at it for awhile to avoid dusting. I will try it again ...
