This is one of my fastest read I’ve lately done because this soul haunting, gripping, mend nerving, page turner truly captivates you from the beginning. You get hooked. You cannot resume doing your basic things like watching TV (thankfully I finished this one before binge watch Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, because reading this book or binge watching one of my favorite series may force me to invent a new activity like binge reawatching- read one page, look at the tv for one minute and repeat this ...more

This was so damn good! I will admit, I went into this blind, didn't read reviews, the blurb, nothing. I just saw that it was the author of one of my top reads last year ( Jar of Hearts) and I grabbed it as quick as I could. So I was a bit surprised that it was a story about a child abduction. I almost sighed because there have been so many of those lately...but don't you worry, this is a completely unique thriller and you will not be doing any sighing! As if a child missing is not enough, there ...more

What starts as a child abduction soon warps into something far more twisted and nefarious, thanks to the brilliance of mastermind, Jennifer Hillier. LITTLE SECRETS will leave readers completely floored. You don’t just read this book; you inhale it.

In Little Secrets, Hillier’s exploration into the darkest corners of relationships, marriage and motherhood take you on an emotional, roller-coaster of a journey, filled with twists, terror and tenderness. The brilliance of this book won’t be a little secret for long, and these will be some of the easiest five stars you’ll be giving all year.

Unbelievably captivating and thrilling, Little Lies is an unputdownable story of a woman on the edge whose living every mothers worst nightmare. I found this book to be fast paced, finishing it in one sitting. When I first read the description I was a bit weary because there are so many thriller out there that deal with child abductions but my god, this turned out to be completely out of the box. Hillier intricately weaved multiple storylines together to create such a diabolical and manipulative ...more

Many people would envy Marin's life. She runs a successful hair salon, is happily married, and loves her son. Her life will change in 480 seconds, as that is all the time it takes for someone to take her son, Sebastian. Certain at first that he just wandered away while she was distracted, it soon becomes clear that he was kidnapped and the FBI has no leads, no clues, no ransom demand, and no sign of Sebastian. Marin's perfect life has turned into a nightmare.

Marin’s preschool son Sebastian goes missing from a crowded market. Sixteen months later he’s still gone and the statistics of him being found alive aren’t in his favor. When Marin discovers her husband is having an affair, she’s not about to lose what’s left of her family.

LITTLE SECRETS might have been better titled Humungous Secrets. In some ways,

Thank you NetGalley and St Martin's Press for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Jar of Hearts is one of my all time favorite thrillers. In my opinion it is severely underated and deserves a lot more attention then it received. When I learned that Jennifer Hillier had a new book on the way, I requested it immediately. I was so excited to be granted this ARC I read it within 24 hours of receiving it.

To be honest when I read the synopisis I was less excited about reading

Four hundred and eighty seconds is all it took for Marin’s life to be forever changed. That’s also about the length of time that it took to completely and utterly pull me in to this book. I lived every single word through Marin’s eyes. I identified with the characters. I either loved or hated them and was shocked by the conclusion when I learned that I had the opportunity to change my mind on a few.

Little Secrets, by Jennifer Hiller is easily going to be a best seller for 2020. It’s impossible

Marin had the perfect life. Married to her college sweetheart, she owns a chain of upscale hair salons, and Derek runs his own company. They're admired in their community and are a loving family. Up until the day her four year old son Sebastian is taken.

A year later, Marin is a shadow of herself. The FBI search has gone cold. The publicity has faded. She and her husband rarely speak. The only thing keeping her going is the unlikely chance that one day Sebastian reappears. She hires a P.I. to

Everyone has their little secrets and in this story, they can be heartbreaking.
Marin is Christmas shopping with her son when she stops to reply to a text. In that minute, her son Sebastian disappears. The footage in the market shows that he has been kidnapped. Marin and her husband, Derek, are naturally devastated so sixteen months later, their relationship is strained. Jar of Heart was one of my favorite reads in 2018. The bar was set very high, as were my expectations for this new book. And man, what an amazing, mind-boggling read it’s been. Little Secrets dives right into a fast-paced action-packed story with every mother’s worst nightmare: the disappearance of her four-year-old in a crowded Christmas market. Like a car going from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds, you go from carefree happiness to utmost horror in a few pages. Having lost one of mine when ...more

This novel won’t be released until spring, which is a good thing, because this is decidedly NOT a holiday read, even though Marin’s four-year-old son is kidnapped by someone in a Santa suit three days before Christmas.

Marin has become a successful businesswoman married to a successful businessman. After four attempts with IVF, she had Sebastian—she now, officially, had it all. Until, for just a few seconds, she stopped holding her son’s hand on a busy day of Christmas shopping at the mall so she

I loved Jar of Hearts and was excited to be approved for Little Secrets. What I wasn't prepared for was the intensity of the storyline! Hillier is brilliant in her depiction of a family in trauma after the kidnapping of their four-year-old son. The book grabs you by the throat and shakes you around like a little rag doll as you experience a range of emotions that you hope no parent will ever have to endure. We witness Marin and Derek's grief, guilt, abandonment; at the heart of the novel we ...more

About 70% of the way through this book I woke up in the middle of the night and realized, “OMG! Xxx is xxx and xxx!” I won’t spoil it, but once I realized it I couldn’t wait to finish and see how it all wrapped up.

I don’t often read thrillers, but in my mind, books like Little Secrets are prime examples of the genre at its best. You’re not here for likable characters, ones you care about and root for, but to sit at the edge of your seat in anticipation for what’s next, to be jumping up and down from the build-up. This one had me on the edge the entire way through, and not only from plot points and reveals, but the storytelling itself was moving and exciting.

I actually went into this with pretty low hopes,

Terrific! Thanks Net Galley and MacMillan for making this book available to me prior to publication. I am a big fan of the psychological thriller but have not read anything by this author, which I will now remedy. This book had me from the first few pages. I could actually feel how harried the mother was shopping with a toddler in a busy market, not having enough hands. My stomach dropped when the mother could no longer feel her child, see her child because the author’s skill with the written ...more

I had a love and hate relationship with the book simply because I disliked all of the characters and yes, that includes Marin, the grieving mother. Anyone who wants to off her cheating husband's lover by hiring a hitman is simply wicked to me. I cringed so many times through this book. What a bunch of awful people. Yet, I kept reading completely glued to my kindle. I finished it in one day. The story is addictive, I wanted to desperately find out what happens at the end, so I kept going. The ...more

This one was B-A-N-A-N-A-S! I thought I was reading a story of about a couple coping with the loss of a child, and I was, but it was also so much more. This story quickly veered into adultery and murder for hire! This one kept me swiping to the next page. Marin was a great character and the author did a good job making her motivations clear and sympathetic. I enjoyed most of the characters except for Derek. Derek was a cipher. He came off more like a device to move the plot forward than an ...more

This book is amazing. Jennifer Hillier does NOT disappoint, yet again. I finished this book in less than 24 hours and now I’m mad I read it so fast but I couldn’t stop. The majority of this book takes place 16 months after Marin and Derek's 4 year old son goes missing. Their marriage is in trouble and Marin soon learns from her PI that her husband is having an affair. From that moment on the book is a roller coaster of emotions and events. So many feels. Excellent book! I had just finished a book that I truly struggled to get through, so I was a little exhausted with reading when I picked this one up but I was hooked from the first page on! It is packed with great characters, deep emotions, and fantastic writing. Even the few times I wondered why a character was doing something or acting a certain ...more

Wow. It is not an easy feat, to write a story with so many storylines that are woven together perfectly. I’m a little speechless, after finishing this book mere seconds ago. I am a new mother, my son is just under two months old. I started reading this book with him in my arms, and I couldn’t imagine the horror of losing your child. I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and the characters were just great. A missing child, secrets, affairs and even more secrets... all the elements of a great book. It moved at a swift pace and had a good amount of suspense. The only reason i gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that i found the missing child story ( which i was most interested in) got a little over shadowed by the affair story line and also i found it fairly easy to spot the "whodunnit". That didnt really take away ...more

Little Secrets is the second book I’ve read by Jennifer Hillier. I enjoyed Jar of Hearts last year, and I had high hopes for Little Secrets. Hillier has a way of writing that pulls you in from the beginning, and keeps your interest till the very end. This book has some great twists that I didn’t see coming, and it wasn’t predictable. I would recommend Little Secrets to anyone who loves a great thriller that you want to compulsively read.

Secrets always reveal themselves in the end.

I did something I rarely do with a novel. I read LITTLE SECRETS by Jennifer Hillier cover to cover in one day.

What parent can't relate to having their child stolen from them? What horrors must the parents go through? How do they cope? But this isn't a tale just about that. This goes much deeper and becomes much more horrific about people and the secrets they keep.

There are no little secrets. And secrets always reveal themselves in the end.
