I read this anthology a long time ago and forgot about it until I was scrolling down my books on what to read next when I found it. This anthology is extremely personal and definite erotica.
Note: A Family Affair includes every kind of incest possible which has all triggers, say brutal or hardcore.
I like that the stories are short. There are also stories which have such kinds of pairing that made my eyes bug out.

Recommending to my naughty taboo GR readers, I challenge you to read this straight face. 😉

3.5 stars (on average)

From the Wreckage by Yolanda Olsen-Super simple which is what I suspect the writer was going for considering he’s a giant farmer. I thought the ending was the best part even though I saw it coming. 3.5 stars

Indecent Craving by Dani Rene-Honestly this one felt a little too been there, done that and it definitely wasn’t the best version. It was more uncomfortable than it was salacious. Plus it was just boring. 2 stars

South of Nowhere by Megan Daniels-This is great, I finally got a real taste of MM and I loved it. The fact that they were brothers and the use of the belt only added more intrigue. I wish it was a full novel. 4 stars

Lies that Bind by Murphy Wallace-This ones my favorite. Three cousins who bound themselves together because they shared the same abuse. I not only wanted a full book, this one needed it. I needed vengeance and closure. 4.5 stars

Against the Spread by Emery LeeAnn-This one is pretty cute and funny. It was a lot for a short story so it felt rushed. The end was a little too much I think but I thought it was nice how they ended up. 3.5 stars

Intimate Relations by Ally Vance-Conflicted, that’s pretty much what I feel about the story of Emmett and Kade. Not because of the familial relations but the total lack of consent and the fact that Kade was so far in the dark. 3 stars

Illicit by AA Davies-Barely related 🤣, student/teacher ... need I say more?

“What kind of eighteen-year-old was ripped like that anyway? Did he take steroids to look like that? Or was it natural?
“It’s natural, baby,” Carter said, and I reared my head back. Did I just— “Say that out loud?” He leaned against the counter, a bowl of cereal balanced on one palm of his hand, and his spoon halfway to his mouth. “Yep, you did.”-Funny!

I don’t care if she’s his half aunt, that shit was dead sexy. Well that ended abruptly. 4 stars

4 ”What. The. Hell. Did. I. Just. Read.” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

”People think the sex and illicit affair is what it’s about, but they’re wrong.” His fingers met with my inner thigh, and I squirmed. “It’s about how society views the world. Who gets to decide what is right and wrong? Who gets to tell people what they can and can’t have?”

First of all, I wanna thank my GR friend Birjis for putting this on my radar and challenging to read this and I’m so glad I accepted it.

Now after finishing this anthology, it’s abundantly clear to me that I have no morals mainly because I enjoyed the hell out of this. Please don’t judge me. It was taboo overload. I’m no stranger to extreme dark romance, hell I mostly like it that way but this one was on a whole other level of forbidden.

I loved the mind of these author. They did the stories so well without making it dirty. Somehow they made the wrong look and feel right. The writing was flawless. The eroticism was top notch. It started slow from the first story and ended with a bang in the last.

It wasn’t simply a steamy taboo romance but each story had its own element of surprise, thrill, action and mayhem. It kept me on my toes. It had incest of all kind, some of them even I couldn’t have anticipated and when it was right in front of me, my jaw hit the floor. I even popped my MM romance cherry.

Here’s my individual rating for the stories:

From the wreckage: [4/5]
Indecent craving: [3.5/5]
South of nowhere: [4/5]
Lies that bind [3/5]
Against the spread [4.5/5]
Intimate relations [5/5]
Illicit [4/5]

All I’m gonna say is if your heart is just as black as mine, you’re gonna love this. If you love a forbidden tale one that is going to really push your limits, this one definitely the one. It’s not for everybody for sure.

Most importantly, do not ignore the warning before starting this especially if incest is a trigger for you. I mean the title itself gives a pretty clear picture. Still it has incest of every kind that you can imagine.

P.S: There’s another similar anthology coming out by the same authors. Here I thought this would be it. The fact there’s gonna be more, I’m more than willing to find out how much crazier it can get. 💕

For all my taboo readers this book is for you, which is one of the reasons I picked up this book, to begin with.
Seven stories by seven authors. Each author with a fantastic story to pull you right in. Heed the warning it's a family affair. If you like The Inferno series, you will like this book. Each author has written a book for the Inferno series. I won't lie. There were some very steamy, messed up sex scenes, and I wouldn't change it for anything.

There are many triggers, such as sexual abuse and incest. Every kind of incest possible. There is no step anything. I. E. step-siblings, or step-parents. There was only one story where the timeline seemed off, but other then that, I loved this book.

Welcome to my lame ass attempt to salvage myself from the book slump.

It's not pretty. It's fucked up. It's wrong. But these are not the reason why I dislike the book. It was too boring for me. The only story that kinda grabbed my attention was the first story where the hero murdered his wife and banged his niece. The rest pales in comparison.

REVIEW: Emmett loved Ellis in college but she ran away while pregnant. She ran directly into the arms of his brother Preston. Now at Prestons funeral Emmett meets his son for the first time.

This was a taboo romance about unbridled love. It explored what could happen when a bond was never formed between family and an attraction stronger than blood takes over. It’s a stark reminder that you cannot control what the heart wants, you can only lean into it and enjoy life to the fullest.

REVIEW: Oh Huck, you not so gentle giant. Your wife may not have been the one for you all along. Seems your tastes were a little more familial in nature, Maddi is her mother’s daughter after all. How could you resist. Sampling your sister once upon a time left you craving her copy, even if she’s your daughter (or so it seems to be inferred). This was a complete novella with a HEA ending.

I wonder if Huck and Troy, from Deep Blue, live near each other. That would make for some interesting family farm days.

REVIEW: Ugh 😩 I wish this story was longer!! It’s a tale as old as time - teacher falls for her student. Only this time the student is actually her half-sister's eighteen year old son, her nephew. Add underlying drama in the story and I’m left with so many questions. Are they ever found? Who exactly is Carter’s dad? How is Jennifer doing? What ever actually happened to Guy? While we did get a happy in the moment ending I’m greedy and want more, so much more.

This story was also republished in the now out-of-print Aftertaste collection without changes.

🧡 INDECENT CRAVINGS by Dani René (MF)
RATING: 4⭐️
BLURB: 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲

REVIEW: From the opening pages you’re thrust into the illicit nature of this father-daughter relationship. Vincent and Rylee each have their own infatuations, leaving doors open and peeping on each other during intimate moments. Both fantasizing about the unattainable. That is until the day it’s no longer something they can avoid.

Vincent is a member of the Fallen Saints MC. The story ends with a note that Vincent and Rylee’s full length story was to released in 2020, which did not happen. I contacted the author and she says there are still plans to expand and republish this story in the future.

🧡 AGAINST THE SPREAD by Emery LeeAnn (MF)
RATING: 4⭐️
BLURB: 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲

REVIEW: Rick is a gambling addict who’s luck ran out. While attempting to be a good guy and save a damsel in distress he inadvertently got himself on the bad side of a Vegas mobster. Needing time away he does the one thing he can think of, he goes home. What he didn’t expect was to find his little sister Stacia in a self-pleasure fest at the family dinner table.

Unable to control himself he succumbs to his own voyeuristic desires and opens a door to a new reality. From there he doesn’t hold back, he claims what he wants, and Stacia accepts him with opens arms and legs.

Ultimately trouble comes calling in the form of two enforcers. A series of unfortunate events later and long held family secrets are shared. Although a short story there was enough to keep you engaged and curious how events would unfold.

🧡 LIES THAT BIND by Murphy Wallace (MFF)
RATING: 4⭐️
BLURB: 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲

REVIEW: Families are fickle. There can be decades old secrets lying right under the surface of perfect dinners and family gatherings. So when there’s one bad seed, you never know how deep his claws sink.

Uncle Jack is the one whose lap you never want to sit on. He’s the man you’re afraid to be left alone with, and his house is definitely not where you want to spend the night. So imagine the surprise when learning both of your cousins were all subjected to Uncle Jack’s uninvited touches. Changing forbidden touch with sensual touch may not seem right at first but it’s the soothing, healing balm everyone needs

This story ended abruptly for me but that little hit of more to come seemed promising. As of yet there is no rerelease date in sight for this truple though.

Whoa...clutch your pearls and heed the warnings because this book is taboo AF. I loved the stories were each a quick read with an erotic storyline to tempt you with. You are going to run into a father, uncle, aunt, cousin, brother or sister so beware...if you don't like that kind of stuff, don't read it. I thought these stories were intriguing and loved trying to figure out where things were going next. Some I even wanted a little more!

First of all each author needs to make these stories full length they are that good. Each author brought to life very taboo relationships and left me wanting more. I love how each story was so different it made this anthology so much fun to read and I can say that I absolutely loved each story. If you love a good taboo read this is a must read.

From the Wreckage by Yolanda Olsen
I love this story, Yolanda has made a unexpected story that you cant help but fall in love with the characters. I love Uncle Huck a protective man that does what needs to be done even if it’s wrong in somebody else’s eye.

Indecent Cravings by Dani rene
Dani pulls you right in with this story. This might be a taboo story we’re it’s not right but this story makes it seem so right. I definitely need more of Vincent and his princess.

South of Nowhere by Megan Daniels
Megan brought to life a emotional story of a relationship that is so wrong but so good. I loved the emotion of the characters that came through

Lies that bind by Murphy Wallace
Murphy brings to life a taboo story about abuse bringing people together in a not so acceptable way but you can’t help but love how this story goes

Against the spread by Emery Leeann
Fast paced action packed story that kept me wanting more This could definitely be turned into a full length story I would love to see more of these characters.

Intimate Relations by Ally Vance
This title is so fitting. I love the emotion that Ally brings to this story, you feel for the characters even knowing it’s not right.

Illicit by A.A. Davies
This story is intense and so hott!! You can feel the attraction as soon as they meet. I would love to see more of this story and what is to come.

Although this anthology was some very taboo stories, surprisingly none of them phased me. Quite frankly, I read them all as if I was reading a cliche enemies-to-lovers romance. I don't recommend those of you who are sensitive to very taboo subjects to read this anthology because this is only for open-minded readers.

From the Wreckage by Yolanda Olson:
3 stars
This short story started off at a decent pace then felt far too rushed after the second chapter. I was hoping to enjoy this a bit more all things considered but nonetheless, I've read worse.

Indecent Craving by Dani René:
3.5 stars
surprisingly, I found this story developed at a pretty good pace considering how short it is. when I see stories with 8 chapters and below, I expect them to be fast-paced with unrealistic standards but this short story wasn't like that. it was enjoyable, however, the sex was nothing I haven't read before.

South of Nowhere by Megan Daniels:
4 stars
I really liked this short story! It was the first MM story in this anthology and it definitely delivered. Jules and Lennox went through a lot in their childhood and got through it all together. I loved how shy Jules was even around Lennox. I've always had a thing for the good/shy boy gets with the bad boy which is exactly what this story had. Overall, I think this was my favourite story in this anthology.

Lies that Bind by Murphy Wallace:
2.5 stars
Wow. Now this story was definitely the more emotional one of them all. I loved how Brianna, Bash, and Chelsea managed to be together in the end even though their story didn't really have an official ending together.

Against the Spread by Emery LeeAnn:
3 stars
So...this was a story. Masturbating with actual fruit/fruits..gotta say, that's a first for me. I've never read that in a book which is what made this story..funny? humourous? somewhat enjoyable? I don't know how to describe it. The only reason this story got 3 stars was because of that. (I know I'm crazy) Also, the whole "mafia"/ "murder" aspect of this story felt unnecessary and this story was probably the most rushed book in the anthology.

Intimate Relations by Ally Vance:
3.5 stars
I enjoyed this story. The plot made sense and it had a good amount of drama without going over the top. The sex was hot as well. I have read a few books from this author in the past and I enjoyed them so I was excited to read this story of hers.

Illicit by A.A. Davies:
2.5 stars
To cliche for my liking and also the least taboo story out of the entire anthology. I don't really know why this was in the anthology considering it was more forbidden than taboo in my opinion. I was not really impressed with it.

2 Cheesy-Stars! ★★
Since this book is a combination of various stories, I figured I would critique each separately.
~ From The Wreckage by YOLANDA OLSON.
I hated this story. From the beginning, the author portrays Huck, the uncle as a dumb hick who owns a farm and feeds his wife, who he accidentally shot, to his pigs. Disturbing much? Then this man is given responsibility to look after his niece. Great!
Supposedly, Maddie, the niece was touched before by her father and now her mother’s brother.
Another issue I have with this story, is Maddie’s age. It’s not disclosed exactly how old she is, but from her height to her speech...she seems to 6-8 years old. Very disturbing.
“Because he’s so goddamn tall, I don’t have to get on my knees to blow him. Instead, I just lean my head down slightly and take the tip of his d#ck into my mouth, hand wrapped firmly around the base of his shaft and begin to bob my head up and down.”

“I’m not used to having a c#ck so far into my mouth, but Uncle Huck takes his time. He wants us both to enjoy it, not just him.
Unlike Daddy”
WTF?!?
And the ending...let me not ruin it for you, but it’s horrible! It made no sense. Simply put, this story was a waste of 10 minutes of my life.

~ “INDECENT CRAVING by DANI RENÉ”
Wow. I stumped by the stupidity. Sorry but, this was just silly. A biker dad wants to bang his daughter because she looks hot and resembles his dead wife. But then later on in the story he sends her away to live with her “mother” because his feelings get too strong. ?!? WTF?

I was laughing so hard at the ridiculous conversations between the two. I’m supposed to be smitten with lust and drooling at the sex scenes, but I’m laughing like a hyena.

~ SOUTH OF NOWHERE by MEGAN DANIELS
Jules and Knox are brothers who had a rough upbringing growing up. They got close at a young age. Real close. So close, they started f#%king. This was the best story. Even though it was the shortest and didn’t really have much of an ending. After splitting up and going different directions, they meet up and rekindle old flames.

~LIES THAT BIND by MURPHY WALLACE
This was weird. A young girl was molested and ultimately raped by her uncle since she was 6 years old. Grown up she is still getting overpowered and raped. Then she escaped his clutches had a three-way with another couple?!
And it ends there. No real plot or story.

~ AGAINST THE SPREAD by EMERY LEEANN
Guns, sex and womanizers. Mix it all together and you get this sad story. It was like a kitten pretending to be lion. Tons of crazy plot twists for a silly story concept. I think the names irritated me the most. Stacia, DETECTIVE FLEURSY, PUGSY, Rick and MICK. Really?

INTIMATE RELATIONS by ALLY VANCE
A story of a father kidnapping and seducing his own 17 yr old son. Need I say more? This is a whole new level of taboo.

“I’m finding it impossible to unblur the lines between the need to protect him, and the inescapable desire to possess my own flesh and blood.” -Really?

“I’m panting hard, my heart is racing, and my c#ck is throbbing inside his hot, tight ass. I’m balls deep inside my f#cking son, and I’m elated because this feels better than I ever could’ve imagined”

ILLICIT by A. A. DAVIES
A woman and her eighteen-year-old nephew develop sexual chemistry after he is forced to stay with her. Sounds basic. This was the second best for me with 3/5 stars. Despite the Amount of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes which ate away at me.

The thing about anthologies are that you just get a taster, a snippet of stories that captivate and hold your attention and leave you begging to know more, and boy did these stories leave me begging for more. Don't get me wrong each story in this anthology worked so well as is, but my dark taboo loving heart was greedy and just wanted MORE of ALL OF THEM. Taboo is such a favourite of mine, the darker the better. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED EVERY ONE OF THESE DELICIOUS STORIES.

*This review is for "From the Wreckage" by Yolanda Olson*

This one was one sick puppy which, I don’t even know how, hit me right in the feels in the end. I mean, have you ever read something sick and twisted that suddenly turns into something super sweet and makes you all emotional despite the “wrongness” of everything happening? That’s “From the Wreckage.” Maddie, the little sassy rebel, had my heart from the very beginning, just like the gentle giant, Uncle Huck. Both were mistreated in their own way, and both sure have their own secrets to hide. When Maddi’s mother brings her to spend the summer with Huck, the two form a bond that soon will be impossible to break, and god help anyone, who will try to stand in their way…
The story ended with a bang, and I loved every second of it! A deliciously dark read!

My review is for From the wreckage by Yolanda Olson
So Huck is a man with secrets and when his niece Maddie gets left by her mum to stay on his farm for the summer those secrets come to the surface..Of course this is a story by Yolanda so you can expect death and chaos..I'm just putting it out there I'm not a Maddie fan but Huck I kinda just wanna pet him..

Review for Against the spread by Emery Leeann
This is totally taboo and I absolutely love it brothers and sisters should not be doing what Sophia and her big brother do but damn are they hot while doing it..Emery brings filth, taboo and angst in this thrilling story.

I absolutely love anthologies. I dip into them in between reads. It’s also a great opportunity to get introduced to new authors.

I’ve got to say I saw this on social media and my expectations was high cos in all honesty these authors are amazing. I wasn’t disappointed.

The amazing Yolanda started this off with Uncle Huck and what a fab story it is.
Each author gave us a gripping taboo read that had me mentally high fiving each of them.

Now if each author would go and write some more of their story even a series I’d be a very happy reader. Each story was a complete story but with all anthologies and brilliant authors I’m greedy and always want more 🖤

"From the Wreckage" ~ Yolanda Olson
This was such a fun little dark read. I'm starting to love short stories because I'm usually left wanting more, which I still was, but I had a lot of fun with this. The ending was great and Uncle Huck sounds sooooo hot <3

"South of Nowhere" ~ Megan Daniels
Ugggggh! This story was soooo hot. I freaking loved this twisted little piece. This was one that I could definitely read more of. I really enjoyed this read. The messed up way their relationship developed was brilliant. This is my first time reading anything by this author and now I'm super curious!

"Lies That Bind" ~ Murphy Wallace
Oh my god! This was beautiful, twisted, dark, and amazing! I really loved reading this story unfold. It was also INCREDIBLY hot!! I really really want to know if Bash was able to eventually get his revenge and how this relationship between the three of them goes with their shared pain, God this one was sooooo good!

"Against the Spread" ~ Emery Leeann
There was a lot happening in this short story. The opening scene when they see each other for the first time in a while is pretty funny. I just wish she would have answered the door eating the fruit LOl! I know it's hard to flesh everything out in short stories, but I did wish there was a little more info about their parents now that the bomb about them was dropped.

"Intimate Relations" ~ Ally Vance
This was...wowza. For me this felt the most messed up and slightly creepy. I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but by the end I absolutely loved this strange little story. This was definitely the kind of f*d up that I appreciate and took the taboo subject matter by the horns.

Even though I did enjoy this story, I just wish it hadn’t been solely focused on the cabin.

I'm a lover of Anthologies and anxiously await this one. Stories that are taboo intrigue me, so I was looking forward to reading it. One story that stands out is called Indecent Craving by Dani Rene. While this story is most definitely taboo, it held me captive throughout. I couldn't put it down! The story of Vincent and Rylee will blow your mind. Everything you've ever been told, goes right out the window. This story is about forbidden love and it completely and unequivocally pulled at my emotions. What an incredible read!

So far I’ve read From The Wreckage, it packs punches and it’s not a sugarcoated romance. This is a short story about Huck. He has secrets. Huck lives on a farm and has a simple life. He had a wife, till she left him... Then he gets a surprise visit from his sister, she needs a place for her daughter to stay. Uncle Huck graciously agrees to let his niece Maddi stay for the summer. But the secrets are starting to unveiled themselves... and how it ends will surprise you.

From the Wreckage by Yolanda Olson ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Uncle Huck receives an unexpected guest for the summer, Maddie. During the summer the two learn some secrets about the family and each other. This story had a nice pace and had a "whhhat?!?" reaction from me at the end.
Love Yolanda's writing style.

Will update once more stories are read. Can't wait!

Heed the description, because when these authors say taboo they mean jt. Had it not been for the fact that these are some of my favorite authors, I'm not sure I would have read this. However, there is a reason that they are my favorite s because they kept my attention from the first word to the last.

This review pertains to From The Wreckage by Yolanda Olson.

I absolutely loved this story. It was extremely well paced, and being a Yolanda Olson Original, was unexpected and well written. There were twists and just enough darkness to reel you in and get you hooked.

An anthology of taboo short stories, most with dark elements. I will write individual reviews as I read (in order they appear in the anthology):

From the Wreckage by Yolanda Olson
1%-10% , Locations 95-418

A dark short featuring a reclusive uncle and the niece dropped off to stay with him for the summer. There are historical elements from both of their pasts woven into the story and made me wish the story was expanded on. I've come to expect some vagueness from this author, and this had her typical darkness as well, but there still felt like there was some flow issues all around. A few errors, not too many.

Indecent Craving by Dani Rene
11%-27%, Locations 454-991

I was so in to the daddy/daughter of this one but the story was all over the place, there were several inconsistencies/errors that distracted me, and despite the length nothing felt developed or even cohesive. I liked the core idea and loved the daddy/daughter but since those things had so much potential to make it my favorite, it was all the more disappointing that it didn't come together as a whole. For those that it matters to, this wasn't dark on my scale at all, just taboo.

South of Nowhere by Megan Daniels
28%-36%, Locations 1073-1348

I was much more interested in the backstory of these two brothers and the origin of their taboo relationship than the lengthy time (relatively) spent in the present, when one finds the other after a long separation. I would be very interested in reading a linear story that shows us everything and goes beyond the time in this story too, since it is left right where it is at.

Lies That Bind by Murphy Wallace
36%-49%, Locations 1364-1784

A trio of cousins (FFM) who come together after all being abused by the same uncle (some NC involving this is on page). I felt like the three coming together happened a little too quickly for my tastes but I did like the writing and the story idea.

Against the Spread by Emery Leeann
49%-59%, Locations 1818-2161

Sometimes I was confused who was who in this brother/sister short story with all the POV changes and super short chapters. It was way too fast-paced for me as well, with the bro/sis action happening super fast and not enough between them before the ending though I did like how they are set up for the future.

Intimate Relations by Ally Vance
59%-80%, Locations 2191-2859
4 Stars
It's probably no coincidence that this father/son story was the longest in the anthology and also my favorite. It tells a complete story and was super hot when it finally got around to that stuff. I would have gladly read a whole book for this story/characters.

Illicit by A.A. Davies

I really enjoyed the writing of this one and the story idea. It has a slow-ish set up and then speeds up at the end, thus I felt that pace change did it a disservice overall. I also felt like we were cheated out of the aunt/nephew (half) steam when the pace sped up, heck they didn't even "finish" on page. This is another one I would enjoy more if it was a full book.

I love a forbidden Taboo, but these forbidden short story was just not good at all half way through the fourth one I just had to give up, cause I feel I’m wasting my time where I could be reading a better book.
