Excited to see another title from Julie Abery! Yusra Swims is a rhyming poem detailing the journey of a Syrian-born Olympic swimmer Yusra Mardini. Succinct, precise, and rhythmical, Abery's poem describes Yusra's travels in detail; it has a feeling of non-fiction, yet remains poetic. I loved the use of refrain to punctuate the story.
