Jasmine Steele Mysteries Vol. 1-4

FOUR HEART-STOPPING POLICE PROCEDURALS AT A KILLER PRICE!
This bundle of Kimberly Amato’s complete Jasmine Steele detective series is made-to-order for fans of hard-boiled police procedurals and badass female sleuths … not to mention bargains! Those who can't get enough of the exciting new wave of hard-boiled women sleuths, created by writers like Megan Abbott, Laura Lippmann, Lisa Lutz, and Vicki Hendricks will love Amato’s take-no-prisoners style, her unflinching attention to harrowing detail, and her tough-as-nails but soft-hearted detective .
Lovers of traditional mysteries will appreciate the web of fierce loyalty tempered with fearful caution that links Jazz’s tiny but hardy support system—both at work and at home. In every tale, Amato manages to mix all the excitement of an action thriller with the swirling emotions of a mainstream psychological novel.

STEELE RESOLVE
"Don't think you're untouchable…you or your son." Then a dial tone...
Home is no haven with that that kind of caller on the line. Shrewd, hardened New York homicide detective Jasmine (Jazz) Steele’s just come back from a grisly crime scene involving the body of a brutally-beaten young girl, the second she's investigated this week. That was horrendous, but with these eight words, ending ominously in “your son,” Jazz’s immediate fear is for her nephew Chase, who’s already been through hell in his seven short years. In Kimberly Amato’s hard-boiled yet deeply emotional police procedural, no one is spared tough breaks and turbulent anguish. A lesser cop than Jazz would barely be able to cope.

MELTING STEELE
In Jasmine Steele’s heartbreaking new case, an entire family's been viciously murdered. Hard-boiled author Kimberly Amato pulls no punches. The mother's throat was slit while trying to call for help and the father was shot in the chest, then gruesomely sliced up while still alive, like a scene from a horror film. Also found, the body of their young son, about Jazz’s son’s age, left in the closet with a snapped neck. But it's the remaining clues to a missing fourth victim--a teenage
daughter named Kaley--that leave her reeling. Kaley's seemingly disappeared without a trace.
Soon Jazz discovers that the family had plenty of disturbing skeletons in its closet. Skeletons possibly warranting hiring a hit man on the Internet.

BREAKING STEELE
Gory video game violence comes home to roost when two store managers are brutally murdered in the back room of their gaming shop just before peek holiday season. The corporation that owns the store is doing everything it can to keep the matter quiet—but they won’t succeed if detective Jasmine Steele cracks the case. A fast-paced police procedural that’s as gripping as it is eerily personal. And this one comes with a captivating (although, as Jazz might say, a slightly “nerdy”) a heaping dose of the fascinating ins and outs of video game subculture. Which is far more murderous than the average reader would suspect.

COLD STEELE
Jazz gets a rude awakening when a 3-year-old cold case comes back hot. New York City’s “Carnation Killer,” a serial rapist and murderer, leaves his fifth calling card on a woman named Emilia Smith. The calling card? A heart-shaped carving into the woman’s chest and a single white carnation.
Emilia’s last night alive was spent at a college bar that sparks Jasmine’ least happy memory – the very same establishment that served as a backdrop to her own early adult years, a past defiled and traumatized by a dangerous man. Just as Jazz is
finally happy in her personal and professional lives, her bone-chilling trauma comes rushing back. And the Carnation Killer is still out there.

STEELE RESOLVE by Kimberly Amato book 1 "Jasmine.Steele Mystery"
The worst sound in the world for her is silence. I 'm trying to raise my nephew, he is more an adult than I am. I just wanted to be the aunt, who came over to play. String of murders. She is drawn in, and the stakes are high, she doesn't want to lose anyone else. Can she win, this obsession she has, or will he get away. Good plot, with family, and friends, which makes you want to know more about them, hopefully in the next book in this series.

BREAKING STEELE
Jasmine has a lot of anger, trying to bring down the corruption, leaking things to the press thru different media venues. Chief puts her and Will, her partner on a double murder at the video store. There are skelton’s the owners of the store don’t want her to solve the case. The plot is tense, you learn about video games. You sense the evil, they are fighting against. She has written another compelling story that will keep you digging for clues, and will want to read another by the author. Well done for plot, and the rich descriptions of the lead officers.

Thrillers and serial killers

I haven't read anything by this author before so I was pleasantly surprised. I will say that this is the first set of stories I have read that the main characters are in a same sex relationship. I will admit I almost did not continue reading as I was unsure how detailed this author would be with the romantic aspect of their relationship. The author did an amazing job of including the love story of 2 woman without getting graphic, for that I am thankful.

The set I had obtained included books 1-4 and are the best thriller/serial killer detective stories I have read this year. Each of the 4 books flowed so well. The storyline and plots were well thought out and believable. I was pulled into the lives of several people who were interesting to get to know.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who reads this genre. You will not be disappointed.

A gritty, intense series of books, where the personal relationships between all the characters are intricately woven into the story, but never side tract the action. Jasmine Sreele is a workaholic. obsessed with solving her cases and protecting her family and friends from the collateral damage that can occur from her line of work. Both she and her girlfriend work for the police which has it’s own inherent problems at the best of times, and then there’s her nephew, Chase, who she is also fiercely protective of. I would not hesitate to recommend this set to anyone who enjoys police thrillers

I enjoyed these books. I loved the main character's. There was so much excitement and drama in these books. I loved how the main character interacted with the other character's. I was always on edge waiting for the next problem to arise. The plots were engaging and kept you wondering what will happen next and how can she possibly get out of this mess. I will be reading more from this author.

Riveting

From the beginning chapters as the characters developed, I had trouble putting this novel aside. I appreciated the evolution of the relationships as the story itself evolved, feeling as if I knew Steele and all the others. Looking forward to more of Steele and “her family”.

Good series

I've really enjoyed reading "The Jasmine Steele Mysteries Vol 1-4. It's exciting and interesting to watch the main and supporting characters grow and change a bit in each book. There is plenty of action as Jasmine Steele takes on a variety of police cases while trying to get and keep her personal life in order. That's not always easy with past traumas and present day complications with her young nephew and her girlfriend but she usually does pretty good. I just started reading "Steele Shield" vol 5 in the series and expect to find it just as exciting as the first four books in the series.

Definitely a Gotta Read!

I’ll not give away anything.
For a “crime series” there is more love and compassion in these pages than in a “love series”.
Yup, there are villains, and they really are The bad guys, but they are NOT they keys to the story.

Good Stories

The stories were intense. The characters were very true to life. The only real fault lies in the proofreading. Too many typos.

This series of mysteries follows an intriguing set of law enforcement personnel who care deeply about putting criminals behind bars, and about each other. The plots of all four books will get you swept up in the action, but don't worry about the characters lacking depth-they are fully on fleshed-out with insightful dialog and introspection. That said, it is the action and the thrill of the chase that will have you racing to the end of each story!

Four excellent books!

These stories are hard to put down. Action, mystery and love abound. Jasmine is an amazing and complicated person. Frankie is her rock. These stories are as much about the two of them as it is about the crimes they solve. I found myself involved with their own story sometimes more than the mystery, but the crimes always brought me back to them. Kimberly Amato is a wonderful story teller!

Damn good series.

Very enjoyable read getting into the shoes of Jasmine Steele. A detective with the NYPD who has an interesting past which impacts on her life now. The first 3 stories have the background of being after one man, Irving Garrison and his empire. During all of this we are watching relationships grow, personally and professionally.
Deep and at times very dark when getting into the minds of Jasmine and the people she is after. Especially the fourth story involving a cold case that comes alive again.
Brilliant!!

Good reading

Mostly, well put together. Characters are so deep we almost fall into them. That could almost be a negative, unless you like navel gazing.
At times the plot felt a bit forced, the heroine oddly seems the only one who can do things, the villains motivations similarly are a bit sus.
It seems strange to me that the better the book the harsher the criticism and this is a great book.
Recommended.

Fantastic

No plot spoilers. Definitely some crazies in the series. The characters are excellently developed throughout the books. Their stories are placed very well during the series. You find out at the right time. The characters feelings really shine through even though everyone is facing scary bad people
