Great drawing book. Got for my step daughter for Christmas and she uses this alot.

The book for review is “How to Draw: Easy Techniques and Step-by-Step Drawings for Kids” by Aaria Baid.
Has your kids ever expressed an interest in drawing but was frustrated by not being able to?
This book, aimed for kids from 9-12, will show you a variety of objects to draw. They include part one that shows you how to do the basic designs such as 3D shapes, size and proportions, shading and so much more. Part two include the actual instructions and pictures on how to draw everyday items. The list includes cartoons, animals, people’s faces, nature, optical illusions and others
Once they have understood the basics in part one and you cross to part two each page will have step by step drawings as it takes you from the beginning of the object to the end.
Every child can learn to draw with the instructions listed inside the book.
My thoughts:
I found the instructions could be understood by the age group this is geared for. However, I found that in certain objects being describes more steps could have been included so the attempt at drawing it could have been more successful. It just seem some steps were either missed or a leap from one point to another might not be able to be done. For children wanting to learn how to draw this could be discouraging at not being able to complete the item.

Written in two parts - Art School and Draw Everything - this book stating that it is "great for ages 9-12" could be suitable for 9-109 if someone is wanting to learn the rudiments of drawing!
What are the FIVE P's of becoming an artist?
Practice * Play * Process * Progress * Praise
All you need for this book is a pencil and eraser. Whilst you could just pick up this book and start drawing, being able to read and comprehend the instructions will definitely give you an advantage. Start off by learning the basic types of lines then progress onto 3D, shading, fore shortening and SO much more. Absolutely LOVE the Double Exposure technique shown with the bear.
This is an EXCELLENT book. Definite keeper in our house. Contains such a HUGE variety of techniques, even showing the reader how to create optical illusions. If you or your child works through this book, by the end you and/or they should be accomplished artists.

In "How to Draw: Easy Techniques and Step-by-Step Drawings for Kids", author and artist Aaria Baid has put together a creatively inspiring workbook and teaching tool. With simple instructions and illustrations, she guides readers through the basics of drawing--explaining lines, spheres, 3D shapes, shading, adding depth, proportion and scale, perspective, lettering, and much more. Learn to draw people, animals, landscapes, objects--even cartoons. Drawing is fun and relaxing, and seeing your skills improve with practice is quite rewarding. I am creative, but I lack basic artistic ability. From a young age, I have done all types of sewing and needlework, and I always wished that I could sketch out my own ideas and designs. While this book is recommended for ages 9 to 12, anyone who wants to learn to draw will enjoy this helpful teaching guide. I am now having much fun making sketches of my favorite subjects--my three beautiful black & white cats.

Some children want to learn to draw but need a place to start. This book is a great place.
I have to admit, I was very impressed with this book. This book offers more then just a simple tutorial. This book goes into important art details like sharing, perspective, and shapes. Having this book is like having a teacher present.
I will point out this book is not for beginners. This book goes into complex steps and teaches children well. If you are purchasing this book for a beginner, they will need the time and dedication to learn. With passion and a will for art, this can be done.

I'm a grown adult and I thought this drawing book was great! Don't get me wrong, this book is most definitely geared towards kids (more like tweens and teens), but anyone with an earnest desire to draw more than stick figures will get a kick out of this book. Not only are there different techniques and methods, but there are straight up step by step guides to help you polish your drawing skills. From animals to humans to mature to entire detailed scenes, this book will help make you look miles better than what you were. For kids, it's a great introduction to perspective, layering, shading, and more. It's not too wordy, fully illustrated and a great gift for kids and adults alike.

Very nice book on learning to draw. Broken down in two parts: Part 1 – basics to start practicing (drawing terms, techniques, and warm ups) and Part 2 - the drawing projects. This book is for everyone from 9 and up. I even managed to draw some pretty good sketches and I’m not known for my artist skills. The drawings are shown in easy to follow steps but you also look at the examples to get the full detail ideas. What I really liked is the variety of drawing projects.

Teaches using basic shape method. The step-by-steps are easy to follow. Is it a collection of things I would really buy a book for? No, but for many the variety would be really good. I also acknowledge that because I am a bit experienced at this point, I tend to lean towards more “themed” how to draw books. This is a great beginner book, and there were definitely bits of it that were helpful for me and that I imagine even a more advanced drawer could get some tips from it.

I am not a kid but I struggle with perspective in my sketching. I can’t seem to grasp how to draw people, animals or buildings. This book has helped me immensely. I refer to it often.

This has been my favorite book for teaching mixed age art classes for kids. The diagrams are simple enough for a fifth grader and the dialogue is deep and engaging for a high schooler. The perfect mixed age art book!

Have you ever thought you might like to draw? I know the title says this is for “kids” but aren’t we all kids when it comes to drawing. If we haven’t ever done something my experience tells me that the only way to really learn it is to become a child again with that childlike curiosity and the willingness to fail. It’s only us adults that get embarrassed by our failures and begin to doubt ourselves based on what people might say.
So, become a child again. Open the book. Follow the step-by-step process outlined by Baid and move into a whole new world.
This book will help children of all ages get in touch with their creative artistic self. If you are a parent or responsible for teaching young children, this book is especially for you. It will allow you to open a whole new world of creativity for those children.
The author has creatively crafted a simple way to help those wishing to know more about drawing to do just that. She starts off slow and gradually adds new element as the skill-set and confidence grow.
As Baid says what is needed is for you to practice, practice, practice. The outline is here. The basic building blocks are outlined in the book. A systematic process has been designed. Now get to it and allow those creative juices to flow in yourself or the children that surround you.
