Read this after seeing Charles Holland lecture about Lutyens to the Art Workers' Guild recently - he refers to it and its specially-drawn plans quite a lot. My view on EL is basically Ian Nairn's 'genius and charlatan' but Charles made an extremely good case for the 'genius' side, as does this book of extraordinarily, subtly strange houses for scum.
