My First introduction to Tom Sine was through a weekend "revival" at a great congregation in Mission Viejo, California under the leadership of Rev. Ken Kalina.

I read this book after the weekend and something just clicked within me. This book challenges and sets the bar for how living in Christ calls us to more than a Sunday 9-11AM occasional gathering.

I have yet to clear the high bar, but i keep hoping one day to get the right combination of velocity and attitude to make the altitude.

Written in the early 1980's, the author paints a pretty grim--yet not too far from accurate--picture of what life might look like now. The basic idea is that God can use the very small, seemingly completely insignificant, faithful acts of people to transform the world. I wonder if the interconnectedness we experience today has made that more true or less true?

Can't say that I read the whole book. It is quite dated. It spends some time considering what church will be like in the year 2000 and seems to have been proven wrong in that it did not see the advent of the mega-church.

Deals with how wealthy we are and how we can use that wealth to make a difference in the world in real ways. Great idea book!
