Together beyond death...
A new unnatural horror is about to rattle Hannah Miles’ quiet existence, and it’s not the short-tempered viscount prowling the hallways. Someone is creating a monster by stitching together pieces of different people. When a limb makes an escape attempt, Viscount Wycliff is called to investigate. All of London knows there is one mad scientist among

Engaging (hah! Punny!) mystery with hints of romance and gristly clues

The second book of the series brings Hannah and Wycliffe closer to each other and deeper into “classical horror” scenes as they solve Frankenstein-like crimes. As in the first book, the gory details are described more clinically than for graphic shock value.

In spite of the dark aspects of the plot, I laughed out loud several times. There are some things about the novel that make me think “This is how the Addam’s family came

I originally bought this series as “brain candy” - something mindless and perhaps a bit sugary to pass the time between reads. But by the end of book one I realized I was binge eating it like a kid with a bag of m&ms and by the end of Galvanism and Ghouls I was raging to my husband that book three isn’t out for another 4 months! Agony!

Everything about this story is FUN. A little bit Austen, a little Bronte, a healthy dash of Shelley, and a whole lot of originality. The story is mystery and

Book two built upon the strengths of book one and just got better. New monsters, new problems and some really fun additions to the cast. And where sometimes the prose in book one was a bit clunky, book two was lively and kept me engaged.
There is a big reveal in book two that felt a little bit glued on as there was no clue in book one - but I'm gonna just let that ride as it created some great problems for the main character in both the monster world and the regency world.
I'm looking forward to

Intriguing Installment

This was book 2 in the series and I enjoyed getting to see both main characters interact. Wycliffe has an intriguing secret... and I definitely didn’t see Hannah’s twist coming! Looking forward to seeing book 3 and the further developments.

Galvanize and Ghouls

Wyckoff is the hero of this story. Surprise, twist and turns are the bedrock of the plot. Once again the author gave us a great story that is interesting and readable.

Tilly drinks entirely too much coffee, likes to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer and wishes she could talk to Jane Austen. Sometimes she imagines a world where the Bennet sisters lived near the Hellmouth. Possibly too much caffeine is responsible for the fanciful imagings in which monsters roam the ballrooms of Regency London and ladies of the ton are seduced by vampires and selkies.
