The past and present evolve into a well plotted,
well written historical mystery evolving over a
century in Andalucia.
Pirates evade the village taking several children
away with them. A young man is blamed saying
he fell asleep on his watch in the tower built to
warn of approaching pirate ships.
The young man is then murdered.
Domingo Armada of the Holy Brotherhood with
his page, Lucas arrive to the tiny fishing village
of La Herradura to solve the murder.
The investigation is filled with plenty of twists
and turns. A subplot complicates the murder
investigation. So Domingo and Lucas must solve
both to arrive at the truth.
The characters are multifaceted, well written and
very interesting.
The description of the village, the customs, clothing
and foods are very vivid and will make the reader
feel as if they are right in the fishing village.
An intriguing, interesting, complex historical mystery!!
This is book # 2 in the Domingo Armada Historical
Mysteries series. It can be read as a stand alone.
I volunteered to read A Murder Most Watchful. Thanks
to Reading Deals Book Club for the opportunity. My
opinion is voluntary and my own.
A Kindle Unlimited Read.
