Felice Stevens writes romance because what is better than people falling in love? Her favorite part of a romance novel is that first kiss…sigh. She loves creating stories of hopes and dreams and happily ever afters. Her stories are character-driven, rich with the sights, sounds and flavors of New York City and filled with men who are sometimes deeply flawed but always real.
Felice writes M/M romance because she believes that everyone deserves a happily ever after. Having traveled all over the world, she can safely say that the universal language that unites people is love. Felice has written in a variety of sub-genres, including contemporary, paranormal and has a mystery series as well.
Felice is a two-time Lambda Literary Award nominee and the Lambda award-winner for Best Gay Romance for her book, The Ghost and Charlie Muir, as well as the e-Lit gold medal winner in romance for Broken Silence.
I happily devour each new Felice Stevens release, and for a while I’ve been meaning to go back and enjoy The Breakfast Club. With the collection, I was able to do so. I’m a big fan of boxsets as they allow me to read a series back-to-back, and such is exactly what happened with this series.
Although The Breakfast Club is not my favourite Felice Stevens series, I had a lot of fun with each of the books. I was hooked on the stories and powered through them all in next to no time. Each was a four-star rating, containing the things that have me coming back for more Felice Stevens. In other words, these books were the perfect combination of sweet and steamy.
I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t as crazy about the short stories, but I’m not crazy about short stories most of the time. Two of them I enjoyed, two of them I was indifferent to; all four were a nice addition to the series. If you’re a fan of extras, they’re great bonus insights into the characters’ lives.
Overall, The Breakfast Club series is classic Felice Stevens and well worth the read.
I read all of the stories including the novellas. I loved all of them. Especially Second to None, because, Marcus and Tyler are the kind of guys I wanted to see in all of my reading. Badass, strong, sweet, lovable, and worth melting for :)
The Breakfast Club is one of many series from Felice Stevens that I adore and one of my comfort read.
If you love Felice's writing, I recommend you to read this series. And all stories in one bundle is easier to track down your reading order!
The Breakfast Club Collection consists of books #1 to 3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 by Felice Stevens. It is indeed every book in the series which is fortunate for me because I really don't like waiting between books.
The series revolves around Zach, Julian and Marcus, three best friends who are determined that no matter how busy their lives become they will always meet up for breakfast on a regular basis. They are very different men, each single at the start of the series and each with backgrounds that are angst-ridden. Over the course of the series, they each meet their soulmate. They too bring their own angst-filled stories, but after meeting they each help the other to come to terms with their pasts and move forward to their very own happy ever afters.
I really enjoyed their stories and how despite some ups and downs, and I don't mean in the bedroom lol, the couples work through any problems they have. It's not always easy, but being with their soulmate means that they don't give up on each other. I really ran the gamut of emotions reading this series, there were tears, there was laughter, and best of all there were big happy sighs. I would love to know these men in real life, they would all be the best friend a girl could ask for.
There is quite a lot of 18+ rated bedroom, shower, living room, office, you get the idea, scenes. If I am honest I don't think the books needed so much of it, it could easily be a fabulous series with only the occasional in detail scene. The guys were hot for each other, I get it, but reading one book straight after the other made all the sex a bit monotonous and I found myself skimming some of it towards the end. That said, maybe if I read the series as each book came out it might not have been so bad.
All in all, I did really enjoy reading as Zach, Julian and Marcus became better versions of themselves and found true love. I definitely recommend the series, it is well worth the read.
I absolutely loved this series. It's so full of love, not just between the MCs of each book but also the love of found family between Zach, Julian, and Marcus. I really enjoyed seeing each of them work through the issues holding them back from finding happiness and finally grabbing hold of love when it falls into their laps. Each book takes the characters on an emotional roller-coaster but they all end in the same place: HEA.
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by Buoni Amici Press*
I love love love love this series the most from Felice Stevens. Each main character have their own issues, problem, and love story. At the end of each series they all conquer their problems, moved on from their past, and not only did they found love in between but created a future of their love. I love all three main characters Julian, Zac, and Marcus. I cried the most reading about Marcus and the mini series that follows.
Julian, Marcus, Zach are three different personalities but are the best of friends, brothers by choice. I love how they meet every week for breakfast. Each book in this collection focuses on one of the trio and how thy find their loves and their journey to falling in love. Each book is more touching than the last.
I highly suggest this series. It would be a great beach read this summer.
Amazing anthology. All of the Breakfast Club stories and shorts in one place!! All of the stories are wonderfully written and so heartfelt. I love the bond between the friends and how as the group expanded the significant others were included. Each guy had a different personality and outlook. All the feels and heat, Felice is great at delivering a satisfying romance.
I can't even tell you how ridiculously happy I am to have my favorite series all in one place. I fell in love with Julian/Nick, Zach/Sam and Marcus/Tyler forever ago and every time a new short story gets released, I'm thrilled. I seriously can't get enough of these guys. They're just so sweet and sexy. They make me laugh and drive me crazy, but most of all, they warm my heart and make me smile. I've read each of these books multiple times and every time I do, it's like visiting with old friends. These guys are so special. Having their books and all the fun short stories together in one place is perfect. My review of each book/short story is included below.
Beyond the Surface: Julian and Nick and their story will stay with me for a long long time. The emotional ride I went through while reading this book never waned. My heart kept thumping in my chest and I couldn't get rid of the lump in my throat. Books should be a journey and this one definitely was. The perfect journey. Their story was deep and meaningful and utterly beautiful.
Betting on Forever: I was drawn to Zach from the moment I met him in Beyond the Surface. There was something special about him. Maybe it was his shyness and sweet blushes. Or his gentleness. Maybe it was his geekiness. Or it was the hopeless romantic in him who championed Julian and Nick’s reconciliation. Listening to how much he longed for a man and realizing just how deep the pain from his last relationship went just about broke my heart. I hurt for him. His first meeting with Sam was electric - the attraction and desire sparked between them. They ignited hot and fast and their first time in bed was sexy and playful and so damn good. One of the things I love most about this book is Zach’s transformation. After meeting Sam, he started to stick up for himself more. He finally became the man he was always meant to be. I loved watching their love blossom. I loved the sweet moments they shared. Loved the kisses and gentle touches. The laughs and more serious moments and even the disagreements. Every moment spent with them makes my heart happy. They truly are perfect for each other and I utterly adore them.
Second to None: Marcus drove me nuts for two books. His staunch refusal to become like his friends and fall in love made me desperately want him to meet his match. I couldn't wait to watch him fall hard for that one special guy. I wanted him to meet the man who would turn his world upside down, the man he would come to crave and not be able to live without. That man is Tyler Reiss and he is perfect for Marcus. Despite his attraction, he refuses to be just another notch in Marcus's bedpost. He's not like anyone Marcus has ever wanted before. Their chemistry was hot and their budding friendship was as fun to watch as Marcus falling in love.
What Lies Between Us: I loved seeing Zach and Sam in the spotlight again. Even though Sam made me so mad, I wanted to shake him. I loved that they both made bad decisions. (Zach needed his own smack in the head.) And even though I didn't like that things were happening that would test their relationship, it was good to see them go through something so raw and emotional. We don't always get to see that side of things. I love that neither of them is perfect. I didn't love having my heart ripped out but I did love watching them come back together. And my heart melted when Sam told Zach to get into his hospital bed because he can no longer sleep without Zach.
A Holiday to Remember: This was the perfect holiday treat! We get all the things we love about Marcus and Tyler and get to see Marcus squirm a bit too.
Hot Date: Each one of The Breakfast Club characters is special to me but Nick and Julian started my love affair. I couldn't wait to read about Julian's Hot Date with his fireman. I loved stepping back into their world. They deserved to have another moment in the spotlight. They're almost like the "old married couple" of the group and it's easy to forget how great they are together and how explosively hot their relationship is. Hot Date puts that passion front and center but tosses in a little insecurity and distance on the side. Felice makes them work to recapture their magic and oh how sweet it is!!! They are all kinds of sexy - and Julian's little surprise at the end....makes this a Hot Date indeed!!
Two Daddies for Christmas: I have tears running down my face yet I can’t stop smiling. This was the perfect gift for fans of the Breakfast Club series. I loved every minute of this story. Seeing all my boys together again made me so happy. I love how we got to see Micah and Josh and some of the Man Up boys in addition to our beloved Breakfast Club men. And I REALLY LOVED that each of them was given time in the spotlight. I was in heaven, especially with my favorite guy Zach. Seeing him being so sweet with Lillie and then later curled up with Sam had me over the moon. Who knew that Marcus’s little Lillie-Bug could be so determined and cunning? She had me laughing through the whole story. She’s adorable but Marcus and Tyler are going to have their work cut out for them when she gets older. I love how she’s got all of her uncles wrapped around her little finger. And I have to say that she came up with the perfect way to get Marcus and Tyler to the altar. Marcus’s reaction when he figured out what was happening was priceless but when they went into the bedroom to talk, Tyler made my heart leap. There’s no question that Marcus is the most dynamic character in this series. From the moment we met him, we wanted to see him find the person who would change his life forever. We’ve watched him meet his match in Tyler, fall in love and become a dad to sweet Lillie. Now, he’s finally got the family he was meant to have.
This collection of one of my favorite series is the ultimate summer read! Here are my reviews for each one
Beyond the Surface - Nick & Julius
I have read a few of Felice Stevens books but I have to say this one blew me away! Nick and Julian's story is one of second chances, admitting not only to yourself but family and friends who you really are, and in the end regaining that love with each other. Nick's experiences with the tragedy of 9/11 and Julian's learning the true meaning of Beyond the Surface made this a heartwarming and wonderful story. I absolutely LOVED all of the secondary characters and hoping for a story about Marcus?? Ms. Stevens are you up for that challenge?
Betting on Forever - Zach & Sam
This is the second book in Felice Stevens’ The Breakfast Club and the series gets better and better! Each book centers around a different couple, so can be read as a standalone, but frequent references to the other characters will make it more enjoyable if read in order. This one is about geeky computer nerd Zach and ex policeman Sam and a bet made by friends. Both are coming off bad relationships, meet at a computer conference and experience an explosive night together. Circumstances pull Zach back home before he can see Sam again, Sam feels he was abandoned. Both Zach’s and Sam’s friends know that they would be good for each other and arrange spontaneous meetings. Once Sam finds Zach again, he does not want to let him go and thus begins a give and take between them. They both admit their intense attraction and want a relationship together, but circumstances try to keep them apart. This story has everything a reader wants in a romance, HOT chemistry, angst, friendship, family, love and a beautiful HEA. I can’t wait for the next story in the series!
Second to None - Marcus & Tyler
This is the third book in Felice Stevens’ The Breakfast Club and I feel the best!! Each book centers around a different couple, so can be read as a standalone, but frequent references to the other characters will make it more enjoyable if read in order. I was riveted from page 1 and was cursing everyday life for interfering with my reading! Marcus is the owner of a gay nightclub and admitted manwhore. Tyler is a professionally trained dancer with morals and was forced to give up his dream to take on the responsibility of his niece, Lillie. Tyler is forced to take a job that will bring in money to take care of her and he ends up as a go go dancer at Marcus’ club. Marcus is immediately attracted to him and attempts to seduce him, but Tyler does not want to be just a notch on Marcus’ bedpost. He rebuffs all attempts by Marcus, who is surprised and intrigued by Tyler. When Tyler is beaten by gay bashers, Marcus takes him and Lillie into his home, and Tyler has no choice but to accept his charity. They finally give in to their intense chemistry. Marcus begins to fall for Tyler and absolutely adores Lillie. One of my favorite scenes is Marcus, Lillie, American Girl Doll, a tiara, glittery nail polish and strawberry lip gloss. They begin a relationship, but then hit a devastating circumstance that may take Lillie away from them. This story has everything a reader wants in a romance, HOT chemistry, angst, friendship, family, love, realizing a dream and a beautiful HEA. An automatic 1- click for any Felice Stevens fan!
What Lies Between Us - Zach & Sam #2
This short novella is The Breakfast Club #4, a followup to Zach's and Sam’s story and their highly anticipated wedding! There is the usual ups and downs in the planning, but both Sam and Zach have secrets and of course when those secrets are revealed, sparks fly! All of the Breakfast Club couples are there and Felice packs a lot of story into this gem of a novella. I am hoping we get a few more stories to follow up on our other beloved characters from the Breakfast Club!
Two Daddy’s for Christmas
How is it possible to have a six year old adorable little girl have so many men wrapped around her little finger? Be the star of this wonderful short story wrapping up a romance that has been brewing for awhile in the Breakfast Club world of Felice Stevens! She wants her two ‘uncles’ who have been raising her since her mother died, to get married, just like all her other uncles! But she wants her Uncle Marcus and Uncle Tyler to be her daddies!
***** I don’t wanna keep calling you Uncle Marcus. I wanna call you and Uncle Ty Daddy. You’re not like Uncle Zach and Uncle Julian. I want daddies.” *****
If that doesn’t pull on your heartstrings I don’t think you have a heart! Lillie enlists the rest of the Breakfast Club clan as well as other couples from Felice’s crossover series to plan the wedding of the century, and the grooms have no idea! 1-click this amazing, romantic, sizzling, steamy romp of a Christmas miracle and let your heart be filled with love and laughter!
2 more awesome novellas are in this bundle that I will be reading that will be just as good as the others! Don’t wait! 1-click now and immerse yourself in the wonderful world of The Breakfast Club gang!
The Breakfast Club Collection is a compilation of all the books in Felice Stevens' The Breakfast Club Collection. There's nothing new here, just books 1-3 and related short stories bundled together resulting in 20+ hours of reading.
The Breakfast Club is a group of 3 best friends and former roommates - Julian, Zach, and Marcus - who regularly meet to catch up, work out problems, and bond over breakfast. There's a common thread here, while the three men are quite different in personality, they are all a little broken and because of that, each is decidedly single. That is until they meet their match (for Julian - again). These stories detail how these men find their other half, work through the challenges and obstacles (some of them real, some of them manufactured in that they get in their own way) to get their happily ever afters.
Ms. Stevens worked hard to pull together a compelling group of characters - a fashion designer that was ripped off, a firefighter and 9/11 survivor, a betrayed ex-NYC cop, a computer geek, a trendy nightclub owner/manwhore, and an unexpected dancer dad. As I read these stories, I kept feeling left wanting more in each character. I didn't completely connect with any of them. The emotions that were promised by the character's backstories fell flat and the chemistry/connection with their significant other just wasn't entirely there for me. I particularly didn't care for Julian and Nick and did not find myself rooting for their HEA.
Additionally, given the investment in time to read all of these stories, I was hoping for something meaty and engrossing. Unfortunately, I tended to find the conflict and obstacles to be surface level and easily resolved, like the characters flipped a switch and voila everything was right in the world.
These books are sweet reads and the sexy times did not disappoint, but if you're looking for depth or emotional connection, it's not entirely there.

This is a wonderful collection of novels and novellas that revolve around three best friends and their rocky roads to romance. I will admit, there were moments when I didn't like some of the main characters very much. My joy came from watching those flawed men grow and become loving and supportive partners. My favorite character of the three friends who started the breakfast club was Zach. He was lovable from the first moment. I thought Zach was a saint to put up with Sam's mood swings at the start of their story, but soon Sam showed his true colors. He was the kind of man who could help Zach believe in himself. Julian was very likeable, though he was self-absorbed and a workaholic at times. He'd given up on the idea of love since his heart was broken by his teenage love. When Julian's former love, Nick, came back into his life, both men came to realize that their old feelings had never gone away. Marcus was a good friend to Julian and Zach, but he was an arrogant jerk for quite a while. It took my favorite of the partners, Tyler, and his adorable niece Lillie, to teach Marcus that it might not be such a terrible thing to let someone in. These couples were not perfect, and there were moments when I was truly angry at one or another of the men. That only made it more satisfying when they made the right choices and did things that went against the fear inside. The way that each partner was accepted into the group of friends was wonderful, as that just gave everyone a bigger support system. This is a wonderful "chosen family" kind of group, and I enjoyed watching them all become happy, loving, and deeply loved.
I’ve read several stories by this author by now, and enjoyed every one of them, so I was eager to read this collection of stories I haven’t had a chance to get to yet. Note that while these stories could technically be read as standalones, between the carryover of characters from story to story, and breadcrumbs dropped in the earlier stories to help set up the later ones, I really recommend reading these together and in order.
All about people who carry life’s scars, some internal, some external, and about learning to take risks and opening yourself up to life’s possibilities in spite of those scars, this author is an expert at quickly pulling you in and really making you feel for her characters—lots of tugs on the ol’ heartstrings ahead! These are wonderful characters, and I loved the relationships between the main characters in each story, as well as the relationships and support structure provided by the secondary characters and set of friends the stories center around. With some beautiful character growth in each story, I especially loved how their relationships built each of them up and made them stronger.
Hot and sweet as well as funny and touching, this a wonderful set of interrelated stories I highly recommend. 5+ stars
Gosh how I loved this series. Every single book and novella
In Beyond the Surface we fall in love with Nick and Julian. One guy is out and one is far in the closet. This is the perfect second chance story
Betting on Forever- Zach and Sam have a beautiful emotional story while finding their HEA.
Second to None- oh my Tyler and Marcus. The strength these two found in each other to fight their demons and find love is one can only wish for in their own relationships.
What lies between us - this was the perfect follow up for Sam and Zach’s love story. Huge swoon.
A holiday to remember - we get to check in with Marcus and Tyler to see where they are in their relationship
Hot date. - although they are in love they are not on the same page. This is a great novella of showing how real life does play a role in relationships
Two daddies for Christmas. I can’t be more in love with this novella than I am. I think the title says it all
I had the opportunity of first acquiring and reading the novellas Two Daddies For Christmas and A Holiday To Remember. I kinda put the cart b/f the horse by reading these shorties so it's nice to get the complete history of all of these men. Each story deals with 3 buddies meeting for meals at a favorite eatery and conversing about their lives, their emotional conflict, their individual soul wrenching losses for some, and how each faces what life has to offer to find their happiness with their chosen significant other, with themselves, and with friends so close they are like brothers. All three novels bring meaning to life through facing struggles and finding inner strength to accept what life deals and face their truths head on. As I previously stated I acquired two of the related short novellas but the full collection was given to me as an ARC for my honest review.
I won this book from a giveaway on GoodReads. The opinion expressed here is my own.
These were pretty good. The stories were different enough that they didn't feel formulaic. The characters were compelling and it was easy to develop a soft spot for all of them (especially Zach).
However, the one issue I had with these books was how the characters would overcome their particular traumas after realizing they were in love. Now, I know that love can heal many wounds, but it's not an instantaneous effect - all traumas take time for recovery. I felt like this does an injustice to those who have suffered these traumas. I was in an abusive relationship, similar to Zach, and I understand the time it takes to overcome that.
Beyond that, these are a good read, and I'm glad I read them. The conflicts are not especially heavy, and that helps.
There are 3 main books and then 4 novellas in this collection. The three main characters Marcus, Julian, and Zack have been friends for years. Marcus and Zack longer almost all their lives. These books are about these guys finding their happily ever after. Which isn’t done easily. The guys must each overcome past baggage and hurts before they can move on to find their happiness. The novellas are continuations of the stories. I loved these characters and the men they find. Each guy is different and you probably wouldn’t think they would be friends when you read about them individually. These books are slower than the ones I normally read. They are definitely slow burn books. They are M/M books to if that isn’t your thing than you probably won’t like these books. Great job Felice.
I finally got to read this series after seeing so many people comment on your Facebook page so I decided to jump in and see what it was all about. I'm so glad I did. Each couples story was so unique but all their stories were linked by their life long friendship. I can't pick a favorite couple but since Marcus was the last one to get his book and his book had more of the type of hurt/comfort I ike in a book, I would pick his storyline as my favorite. I also read all the extras that came with this series as I got them from KU. I highly recommend this series.
I love this whole bundle! Now I have read most of these story but it great to have them all in one place and with the short story too. Felice Stevens has a way to pull you into a story and just doesn't want to let go. So this is absolute perfection because once you start the first book you have the next right after. Nick, Julian, Zach, Sam, Marcus and Tyler's stories are just amazing. Each story has so much love and family that you can't help but them.
I have written individual reviews for eac h of these enthralling, angsty, amazingly hot, stories but have to admit that Marcus and Tyler's story is my favourite!!
OMG! You must read this series. I have to admit that the journey was long, but it’s oh sooo worth it. From what I’ve been told, there’s gonna be more and I cannot wait! Happy reading!
