Bootyversary [boo-tee-ver--sa-ry] noun: when someone has had the same booty call for a year.

This is such a fun tongue in cheek series!

Like I said in my review yesterday, I bought all four of these books a while ago and since I liked the first one so much, I figure I might as well read all four in a row. One of the things I dislike about short reads is that they often lack much of a story, but these books aren’t lacking in story at all. These have story, steam and they are cute to boot!

Another thing I often dislike in short reads is the fact that it often almost takes longer to find the right gif or pictures for them and write the review than it does to read the book. Well almost anyway. Some would say just skip the gifs and pics since they don’t show up in the feeds anyway. But I like finding just the right ones and I love to look at the ones other people post. Also I always include some in my blog so why not have them in my GR review as well.

Back to my review of this book. It was a charming story about Peyton and Lance who have been doing the booty call thing for a while. This time they meet up is actually their bootyversary. Lance would like for things to get more serious because he grew up in foster homes and never really had any kind of family other than his brothers in the Navy seals.

Peyton, however, absolutely does not want to get serious with Lance since he is a Seal like her Father and is only around about 25% of the time. In fact this is the first time he has been home in three months and he is only back for a few days.

This book relates to the book I reviewed yesterday called “Bootyagamy” in that Peyton is friends with Kendall. They and two other friends opened the Hot Wheels Roller Rink together. I will next be reading about the third friend in the book, “Humpany”. Great names and great covers. I think they each have two covers, one with a girl n roller skates and one with a shirtless guy in jeans from the backside. The second is the one I’m liking!

This is the second in the Booty Call series and I liked it but maybe not quite as much as the first one.

Peyton is living her dream with her best friends after opening a roller rink, she has always felt a little lost as growing up with a father in the military they moved around a lot and she watched her mother go through the sadness of waiting for her father to return from his missions. Vowing she would never be in the same situation she has established roots, but when she meets Lance she wants more but knowing that he is a SEAL decides that they can only every be a booty call but when things change in a way she wasn’t expecting what will she decide for the future?

Lance met Peyton a year ago after his sister signed him up for cooking classes, in the minute it took for him to spot Peyton he knew his world had changed forever. He had never thought of having a relationship or starting a family but Peyton made him wish for things he never thought he would consider but she pushes him away at every opportunity. He can’t think of her not being in his life and agrees to be her booty call but that is no longer enough, can he break through her walls and get her to agree to a life together and how will he react to her news?

Fun, quick and safe read. 3.5 * for me

Peyton and Lance, start as a hot bootycall hook-up because he's a Navy SEAL and she doesn't want to get attached and lose him. Every time they meet they are falling deeper in love but Peyton keeps pushing him away. Things get even more complicated when Lance leaves on a mission and Peyton finds out she is pregnant.

Really emotional and heartwarming book. I loved Peyton and Lance they were so perfect together. A really romantic read that will make you swoon!

Short and packed with emotion. What a lovely little story of real love and family warmth.

This couple, Peyton and Lance, start as a hot bootycall hook-up because he's a Navy SEAL and she's afraid of losing him. It's intense every time they meet for passion because they're falling in love despite the dangers involved.

I fell in love myself with the sweet story. It's light yet encompasses the fear of losing a loved one, a big nudge towards pushimg this stubborn girl in the arms of her military alpha male, some hot demonstrations of carnal need, and two people realizing life is about sharing feelings and living in the moment.

The epilogues are perfectly blissful. So much love and connection here <3

Peyton and Lance are about to celebrate their one year Bootyversary. They have been making booty calls for the past year. With Lance in the military and shipping out every few weeks, it's hard for them to make a plan to be together. Plus, Peyton doesn't want to be with a man in the military. That was how she grew up and she didn't want to have to go through all the worry her mom went through every time her father was away. But they love each other, right? Will love conquer all?

Thank you to the authors and BookSprout for a copy of this book to read and review.

Another quick cute story from Frankie and C.M. For me, this one wasn't as exciting as the first book in the series Bootyogomy (The Booty Call Series #1) by Frankie Love . I think it was because I knew what was going to happen at the end. I still enjoyed the book and will read the rest of the series.

I never had the desire to date anyone in the military. Not for the same reasons as Peyton, but because I knew a few people in the military growing up and there were not my cup of tea. If you're looking for a quick steamy romance with a HEA, pick this one up.

Good

3.5 Stars

I liked this story and I really liked both Peyton and Lance. I do have to say I wanted the more selfish option to happen, lol. I understood where she was coming from and her life is going to be a hard struggle. I don’t know how military wives/husbands do it. They are just as brave as the soldiers themselves. But choosing love and supporting your partner in what they love is a very selfless act and Peyton is a wonderful woman.

Safety and Spoilers

Completely safe. No ow/om drama, light drama in general. H had casual hookups before h, h’s past wasn’t mentioned. No abuse.

An entertaining well written story. A quick steamy smooth flowing one night stand repeating romance that begins to be more. A nice journey of getting past self doubts and military life hang ups to have a HEA. The characters are interesting and relateable with blazing hot chemistry. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

This series started nicely, so I'm not sure what happened with this book, but wow it was so not good. I do like how the whole Booty Call world is connected though. And Lance was kind of sweet and hardworking for a better life. Also the endings are always so rushed. I get it's a novella, but I'd rather see what happens to the previous characters in the next book in the series rather than so much happening at the end.

This book was just pregnancy sex and trust issues. Not my vibe. Also these authoritative kind of jobs aren't my fave.

Bootyversary is book two in the booty call series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable.
Lance and Peyton have friends with benefits arrangement. Both of them are in love with one another but Peyton is resistant. She knows what it’s like to have someone in the military. Having watched her mother wait for her father every time he was on deployment she doesn’t want to end up the same. But how long can she hold herself back?
The chemistry between Lance and Peyton was clear to see and I liked them as a couple. I liked that Lance was patient with Peyton.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

This is a very sweet story. After a year of being together, she’s still scared to death and he’s madly in love. With the way she grew up, it’s no wonder, but you can’t stop the heart from loving who it loves. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to see what’s next with the girls.

Frankie Love and Chantel (C.M.) Seabrook (either together or on their own) are reliable go-to authors for me for fast, fun, and slightly fluffy romance reads. Well-paced (though short), and well-written story with likable characters. Steamy short story, but with a sweet core to the relationship. This one had all that, but got wrecked on all the absurd "military" details sprinkled through that had no basis in reality. When I struggle to stay in a story, I can't rate it higher.

The series as a whole centers on four friends who have opened a retro-themed roller skating rink, and the relationships they find. Each pair starts/changes/moves forward in their relationship via some variation on a booty call. But of course sex always leads to something more, which leads to HEA and marriage and a baby or three (not always in that order).

It did get a little old how quickly the couples were popping out kids - I think two were pregnant at their weddings and one had their 3 month old in attendance (this story). Not that I'm against kids or that some people want them as part of their HEA and the sooner the better. I don't even mind that the wedding comes after the baby. It just seemed so fast for all these couples. Finally getting together, married and with a kid all within a year? Where's the time to actually enjoy being a couple before adding Baby Makes 3? Personal preference, I know, but that sort of pacing just never seems as romantic to me.

In this particular story, we have Peyton (h), a Navy brat who's determined not to fall in love with a military man like her dad. She refuses to pine away on deployments like her mother did. Unfortunately, she meets Lance (H), a Navy SEAL. While he falls for her after their first night, she's reluctant to commit to anything more. But after a full year of being each other's only hook-up, what might change to get her to admit there's something more?

By far my least favorite of the series. By far. I was going to rate it 2 stars, but as I started writing this, all the irritation kept growing again, and I just couldn't rate it higher than I did. I know these stories are all slight fantasies, with little-to-no basis in reality, but the obvious lack of military knowledge was distracting - well past the point of suspension of disbelief. Yes, there was the lack of understanding of how deployments and duty stations and assignments and so forth all work. And how military spouses actually support each other and function during deployments. That can almost be forgiven as artistic license to make the story work. I'm talking about basics too. Twice Lance referred to "my sergeant" - a rank that does not exist in the Navy. And Peyton's father is a Commander. Commander is an actual Navy rank, not just a vague "guy in charge of the team" position. Yes, a Commander (the rank) would be in charge of a team, but you reach that rank usually with 15-17 years of time in service (give or take). For someone to be 56 and still be only a Cmdr? It means he's missed a lot of promotions, and should have been forced into retirement because he sucks at his job. And another quibble was the location - Lake City? SEALs are stationed out of only 3 bases (I grew up near one and have lived near another). None are near a Lake City and (more jarringly to me) none are "mild climates" where you would need sweaters and boots but not flip-flops and sundresses. If you're going to make up a town, don't use a name that's actually near another Navy base. All in all, there were tons of little things like this that made it completely impossible for me to stay in the story instead of being pulled out constantly, shaking my head "that's not how this works!" I know I'm a biased source, because this is and has always been a large part of my life. But what I've just rattled off above isn't specialized knowledge - it's all declassified and available with simple Google searches.

Also, Saylor as a name is kinda dumb, but as the name of a Navy brat? Cringe-worthy. Seriously, that's like a mechanic naming his son Dryver.

And is it weird that we never got any physical description of Peyton other than her hazel eyes? Which were specified 6 times in 10 chapters, by the way. It felt like every chapter he had, Lance had to mention her eyes. But nothing else.

Alternating 1st person POV from the leads. No OW/OM drama, cheating, or love triangle nonsense, just one person waiting patiently for another to realize that she loves him enough to try for more. What would have been fast, fluffy, enjoyable escapism was wrecked for me by the completely absurd "military" details tossed in. Maybe if you have no military life background or connections, it won't bother you as much. For me, I struggled to stay in the story. Least favorite of the series, and probably my first 1 star from these authors. No cliffhangers and an HEA for our leads.

Would I read more from these authors? Heck, yeah. These are literary potato chips or M&Ms, after all - light, tasty but little substance, and can't stop with just one. Even not liking this particular story, I know I enjoy these authors usually, so I won't let it put me off.

The second in the Booty call series, Bootyversary is a sexy, hot and sweet story that will grab you by the kindle cord and drag you on a steamy journey!

Peyton grew up with a military father that was gone most of the time, she saw the stress and sadness her mother went through while always waiting to hear news and never having him around and she doesn't want that for herself.

When a certain Seal returns from a mission, she tells herself that she will treat this "relationship" as nothing more than a booty call, but her Seal as other plans. The feelings she starts to develop for him scare her, using this as a excuse she pushes him again, but what happens when the unexpected happens? Will she face her fears and tell him how she feels? Will she risk it all on a man who may or may not always be there for her?

Enter Lance, the Navy Seal, born to be a hero. Now Lance was orphaned as a child, and because of that the military has become his new family. Until Peyton. She has changed everything in his world, after coming home from a mission he needs her more than the very air he breathes. There's a catch though, Payton doesn't want anything long term, or at least that's what she says. Can he break down her defense and reach her? What happens when he has to leave again, and they don't part on good terms?

What starts as a booty call leads Lance and Peyton on a journey of love, hope and a little surprise they weren't expecting. C.M Seabrook as always leaves us wanting more, and this is for sure, the next book is on my TBR!

Is he worth the risk to her heart and the worry that will come?

Bootyversary is the story of Lance and Peyton. Lance is a Navy SEAL who is gone for long periods of time on missions. For Lance the SEAL's are his family. He never thought about having his own family or a relationship. Peyton grew up with a Navy SEAL father and a mother who worried about him during his long absences. She saw what it did to her mother and swore she would never be with a military man and especially a SEAL. So these two are in agreement that they will not be anything more than a "booty call" when he is back home. But what the head thinks is not always what the heart wants and the soul needs.

A year ago Peyton and Lance met when Peyton was teaching a cooking class that Lance's sister made him go to. They had an incredible night together but Peyton left once she discovered he was in the military. Lance wanted more of Peyton and he hunted her down, just before he had to leave again. One booty call leads to an unexpected present when Lance is gone for 6 months. Once he is finally back the real surprise is about to be sprung on him. He has also realized that he loves Peyton and will do anything to be with her, including leave the SEAL's and the military after his enlistment is up in 2 years. The real question is what will Peyton do?

I really enjoyed this quick and fun story. It has heart, romance, suspense, danger, love, and a whole lot more.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I really love the Booty Call series by C.M. Seabrook and Frankie Love. Lance is a Navy Seal who is gone at a moments notice and for long periods of time. After growing up in foster care, the military has become the family Lance never had. One year ago, Lance spent the night with Peyton. Peyton is the only woman Lance wants to see when he is home from a mission. Lance wants more from their relationship than just casual hook-ups. Peyton is co-owner with her best friends of a retro roller rink and a military brat who has sworn she will never love a military man. Peyton doesn't want to be like her mother who is always waiting and wondering whether her father will come home safe and sound. Peyton's feelings for Lance scare her, so she uses the excuse of him going on a mission to push him away and end their booty calls. While Lance is away, Peyton discovers an unexpected surprise. Will Peyton confess her feelings to Lance when he returns? How will Lance react to Peyton's surprise? Will Peyton confront her fears when Lance is hurt while being a hero? Can Lance and Peyton overcome their issues and find their happily ever after? I loved Bootyversary by C.M. Seabrook and Frankie Love. Bootyversary is a quick read full of laughs, hot chemistry, and steam. I would definitely recommend getting Bootversary.

I picked up this series since I was looking for something light and fluffy to read, and this did not disappoint. This author duo for this series is the perfect combo for a perfect selling romance novel. We see steamy sexy scenes and along with sweet love story brewing between the main leads of these short novella's. All the books are around 60 pages and I recommend you to read one at a time when you are feeling low and looking for some fluffy read. I read all at once and by the time I finished the second book, I knew third and the foruth books are going to sounding repetitive to me. Since the premise of all the books remains the same, we see accidental falling in love and a happy ending in all the books. But in spite of predictive ending, the journey of each short story is what makes these books beautiful and heart warming to read. I highly recommend you to pick this up if you are looking for something similar. Also, do follow the sequence since all the books are somewhere inter-connected.

In this short romance novella, Navy SEAL Lance begins to realize that he has real feelings for his feisty, sexy booty call. After a year spent together when he is home on leave, he wants no one else. When he tries to make a more lasting connection with Peyton, she runs. He will have to fight for what he wants.

Peyton isn't so sure. Raised in a military family, she understands the long family separations caused by military service as well as the chance that her father might not return from deployment one day. She tries to hold a part of herself back to protect herself.

Both will need to compromise to make a relationship work - Peyton will have to accept Lance's career and Lance will need to add new responsibilities and priorities to his life.

A delightful couple to read about, their relationship is fun and spicy in turns. Lance is devoted and loving, Peyton is feisty and fun-loving. A four star romance read.

He’s a SEAL, she doesn’t want to be her mom.

Lance Easton is a SEAL, offering to go on extra missions. He has a thing for Peyton and they’ve been hooking up for a year.

Peyton needs to keep things casual with Lance, even though it’s been a year. He’s been gone for most of it. Her father is a SEAL and she’s cannot be her mother, always waiting to see if he comes home.
Her fears are real and based on reality.

Lance never gives up anything. He gets to be a SEAL while Peyton has to deal with it. In fact, he’s gone for six months before she can tell him she’s pregnant.

Ironically, he has a fear of abandonment (he was a foster kid) when he is the one who is always leaving her.

Still, it’s a quick, fun read with a serious issue at the heart of it.
Recommend.

It's all fun and games for the rollerskating entrepreneur' ing queen and the puts the HE in hero Navy Seal until love went ahead and entered the picture!
Lance and Peyton's booty calls were the best solutions for them both, with his long, on a moments notice deployments, and her aversion to Navy men long term relationships- they worked better with no expectations.
Until they didn't- fear, belonging, acceptance all come to the surface for them as the past collides with the present- what the two young loves do about it...
Oh, my heart~
Fighting for love is written in the lines of this sexy, sweet, heart of hearts story!
The second book in the Booty Call Series is a drool-worthy, heart squeezer that leaves with you a smile and for me at least, in a much better place than when I started!

Lance is a Navy Seal after growing up without a family he made the military his family. So whenever he was on leave he would just hook up with someone. However once he met Peyton things changed for him. Peyton didn't want a relationship so what she has with Lance worked for her. However real feelings start to get involved with both of them and it turns into something more. But Peyton can't deal with him being gone so much and pushes him away. Peyton discovers something after she has ended things with Lance but will it change her mind on their relationship? Can Lance show her that they can work?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and entertaining story. I would recommend this to any book lover.

Sweet, romantic and heart-warming

Emotional read that tells the story of the second of owners for roller-skater ring. Peyton is afraid of commitment to military guy. Looking at her parents relationship she doesn't want to suffer and to live in fear for the loved one never again. Her relationship with Lance was suppose to be only hot not strings attached sex. But when both of them wants more things got a little bit complicated. Very romantic, heart-warming short story. Authors as always deliver fantastic and moving story, full on steam and hotness but also packed with all kind of emotions. There's no feel that the story is rushed and this duo knows how to write short story that feels like full-length novel. Great and fantastic writing.

The second book in The Booty Call Series is another quick, engaging read from start to finish. Peyton is a woman who knows what she wants when it comes to love and family and being the daughter of a military man has only solidified her belief. Lance is a Navy Seal whose first love is to his team and the military that gave him the family he never had. Can they find a middle ground and build the relationship they each want? The authors have really brought out the feels in this storyline getting to the heart of emotion that drives one to think seriously about what is involved in having a relationship with someone in the military and reminds one to live each day to the fullest.

Peyton and her friends have opened a retro skating rink. Lance is a Navy Seal. Peyton has sworn off military men because her father was a seal and he was absent a good deal of the time. Peyton and Lance meet and agree to a booty call. They start having feelings for one another, but she keeps pushing him away. Sometimes the most dangerous things happen to Lance at home. What happens at a gas station? Will he survive? What happens to the relationship between Peyton and Lance? What other secret is revealed about Peyton's dad?

This quick romance was a super fun read. Lance and Peyton just melted my heart. Lance was a great book boyfriend. This SEAL was hot, dominate and determined. I loved how he knew what he needed and wanted (Peyton) and was willing to put in the time and work to win her heart. Peyton, i liked and could feel for. She had baggage from her childhood that forced her to protect her heart. Her feelings and situation were very realistic and relatable. With off the charts chemistry, sweetness, steam and a bit of cute tossed in, I thought that this book was a delightful little reading treat. I am posting a truthful, voluntary review.
