This book, Scott Free, was a bit of a shocker in places. It's the story of a young black man who moves from New York to San Francisco and the different jobs and relationships he has on the way. The actual biographical part of it is interesting, because there are a variety of events in the book. But I have to say, the amount of strong swearing and drug use and frequent sex acts depicted in the book made it hard to read at times. From the characterization, to the drama, to the setting, I think that every moving part to this novel really came together and made it unforgettable.

This is just an overall well balanced novel. The pacing and flow are spot on and I was thoroughly engaged throughout.

This is a novel that while you think would be very cut and dry is actually not. I was surprised in several spots and the writing was superbly done.

Scott Free is an interesting read that is full of the unexpected. A book full of twists and turns that is sure to keep you guessing until the end. *I received a complimentary copy from RABT Book Tours and the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.*

The author made the characters and storyline really come to life.

This was a read that I was not expecting to understand as well as I did. I loved the inside look we got into aspiring filmmakers. It really intrigued me.

I loved how smooth and quick of a read it was.

Scott Free is a story in which the protagonist moves from New York City to San Francisco where he hopes to establish himself in the movie industry. In order to survive he accepts a cleaning job because it offers a place to stay and meals. His coworkers are a quirky group of characters and Scott's interactions with them are interesting-to say the least. His circle of friends eventually increases as do his experiences. The dialogue is often witty and filled with profanity. There are many sex scene ...more
