I received this book as a gift as an advanced reader copy and I am going to do my best to give a fair and honest opinion of what I read.

This book is written in the future where the cars can drive you to your destination with out you driving at the wheel. Where cybernetics in replace body parts is becoming in great demand to people in need. The gaming world had also advanced farther than we have to day through the efforts of Ajax Jackson and his friends. You just didn’t play the game but were in

I almost forgot how much I had loved the first book of this series, but this book definitely reminded me!

Ajax and Narissa have had chemistry, something both of their mothers had seen, but Narissa wasn't sure if she was ready for another relationship. Her ex-husband Nolan had hurt her so badly that she wasn't sure if she could trust anyone ever again. Ajax is determined to make her trust them, but he doesn't know if she will open up. When her ex-husband is about to get released from p

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun watching Ajax and Narissa dance around their attraction to one another. Ajax is so patient and sweet, waiting for her to be open to the possibility of a relationship between them. It almost broke my heart seeing how badly Narissa doubted her worth to be loved by a partner. I especially loved the diversity shown within this community of gamers; the multitude of ethnic backgrounds, orientations, and physical capabilities. There were a few nitpicky little iss ...more

I totally adored Spellbinding His Ranger, the first book in Shannon Pemrick’s Looking For Group series. I read tons of LitRPG and romance tales and that Sci-Fi Gamer friends-to-lovers romance is very likely the best I’ve read. Now, in Protecting His Priest, Book 2, the author returns to the sane story universe. We are once again in a USA that set slightly ahead in the future (functioning AI, self-driving cars and fully immersive role playing game (RPG)!tech but otherwise pretty much the sane as ...more

Romance with a gamer experience involved. I picked this book to read as enjoy reading romance, science fiction and gaming. I play an online game that you interact with other people online so could understand this happening in real life. I actually met a couple that became a couple because of the game. Really enjoyed the way the author did a look at the future of gaming as it might not be as far off as the book in time. Also with the cybernetics was interesting how it was interwoven with the stor ...more

Narissa and Ajax live in the future and love playing video games together. I usually am not a fan of scifi/romance books but this one is written in a way that is still believable. By referencing scifi and talking about video games, the author changes the storyline a bit but still keeps it grounded. Although I felt like the time spent "in game" overwhelmed the rest of the story. Ajax and Narissa are meant for each other but neither one thinks the other wants a relationship. At times I wanted to s ...more

Narrisa has guarded her heart and emotions from hurt and pain thanks to the suffering she endured at the hands of her ex husband. His deception and betrayal was enough to keep men at bay that is until Ajax a friend and client came into her life. The more time they spent together the more these two bonded the more their hearts become involved. Now there is a threat on Narrisa again due to good behavior and the release of her ex husband from prison. Will Ajax be able to come to her rescue in time ...more

Wow! Another great story!

This is Narissa and Ajax’s story. Friends to lovers but with some suspense and danger thrown in.

Narissa is lonely but unwilling to fall in love again because of the damage her ex did. She believes she has feelings for her best friend and co-player Ajax but is too scared to take the leap.

Ajax has had feelings for Narissa for a long time and he had been dropping lots of hints lately. But when the truth about her ex-husband comes to light

Narissa & Ajax's story is quite the experience! I love that it shares some in-game VR scenes and information about Lusara Fates. I would love to play a game like that! But the story doesn't just involve their gaming experiences. Narissa has issues with guys because of the pain her ex inflicted on her seven years ago. Ajax just wants MORE with Narissa but doesn't want her skittering away. This story is so involved and I enjoyed every character. And the epilogue was EPIC! I can't wait to see w ...more

Beautifully written story of a tender hearted man bringing an abused woman out of her shell! I love when an Author can find a word that makes me stop and look it up! Fortunatly Kindle has a built in dictionary so we just have to tap the word to get a meaning! The most fascinating thing about this series is how strong the ties are to the game! The guild members are there to have each others backs even in real life and are all good friends! This diverse group shows just how we can come together an ...more

This is an exciting mix between 2 genres, we had a lovely blooming romance that the geek in me loved. As a gamer, having a real relationship between 2 video game loving characters was interesting. The main characters, Ajax and Rissa, were brilliant and worked well together. We really got to know them throughout this book, and even though they both had their struggles, they worked well together.

Surprise, It is a very good story. It had AI's and they were doing things like a person would. I know that they are programed for that. Sometimes I forget. I like that the story is set in the year 21 something, you never know what will have come into existence that far ahead. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.

Protecting His Priest has a well-written story line. Alex & Nerissa (had a mention in book 1) now have there own story and HEA. I found this story entertaining and enjoyable. Recommend. Received a copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I loved this book. The characters are funny and relatable. The story is interesting and not overdone or obvious. There are a few spelling mistakes but it doesn’t take away from the actual book. I would highly recommend this and am looking forward to the next book.

A well-written story by an Author I have not read before, I now want to read the first book in the series. Narissa a physician and her friend and client Ajax's story kept me turning pages. I received a copy of this book from Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

Shannon Pemrick, for as long as she can remember, has always been in love with dragons, although she never liked the constant portrayal of dragons being inherently evil. In a quest to find more diverse characterizations of dragons, Shannon found her passion for reading Romance, Fantasy, and Science Fiction. With a creative and imaginative mind following her around, it was no surprise her two passi ...more
