RICHARD SCARRY is one of the world's best-loved children's authors EVER! In his extraordinary career, Scarry illustrated over 150 books, many of which have never been out of print. His books have sold over 100 million copies around the world, and are currently published in over twenty languages. No other illustrator has shown such a lively interest in the words and concepts of early childhood. Richard Scarry was posthumously awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Illustrators in 2012.
This was an incredibly hilarious read! Poor Mrs. Mouse just wants a house of her own, and they keep getting walked off with! I could not BELIEVE the audacity of the other animals trying to bust down her doors, and letting themselves in to eat all her pastries! I laugh, I gasped, I would absolutely get this for my collection!
This was another find among my stepdaughter's old picture books. I had Richard Scarry's Mother Goose and Word Book as a child so it's interesting to see a book with an actual plot from him!
Whiskers and Friskers are two mice who live in a sock. One day they leave and when they come back, a cat has stolen their house. They set up in a pocketbook, but that is stolen by a duck and then a muff, but that is stolen by a dog. Finally, they find a dollhouse that is perfect and they have to defend it from other animals who also want to live there.
