Wow!!! I liked it. Was worth reading. The blurb does mention he’s a manwhore and we don’t meet any of his exes. The h was in his dreams then. So that helps.

Thanks Netgalley
This was so not what I was expecting. For characters who were supposed to be only 20, they were saddled with heavier issues. Plus all the weird, alt time shit just kept pulling me out. I was never invested in the characters and DNF'ed this so many times. I finished it but was left feeling meh.

This is a very unique story and not what I was expecting. I struggled to get into at first and came close to giving up and not finishing. But I stuck with it because it is well written and I needed to figure out Jason's story. It's full of mystery and a little paranormal, so if you like that, this book is for you. It's not normally my cup of tea which is probably why I am so conflicted on how I feel about this book.

Lost Years is a unique, very well written and thought out novel. I'm not sure how to categorize this story; a contemporary romance/mystery would describe it best.

Lost Years is told in the first person, from the POV of Jason. Throughout this story, I had so many questions, a variety of theories about Jason and his dreams. Jason and his dream girl are the missing parts of each other. For Jason and Scarlett, it was Insta love they were meant to be, but even as a reader I knew there was more to it

I’m not sure where to begin. This is by far one of the most unique and intense love stories I have ever read. Riddled with mystery, over loaded with love and completely jaw dropping moments I was not prepared for how powerful Lost Years is. That said this review is going to be short and sweet.
This book is an experience and I highly suggest reading nothing beyond the blurb and just diving in. You’re guaranteed to lose your heart and have your= mind absolutely blown by this book.

Note: An ARC was given generously in exchange for an honest review.

I really don't know how to put this in a nice, professional review. But regardless, I will try.

The plot is really interesting with the main hero chasing after his dreams and what they meant. The hero was sweet, intelligent, and funny.

But I don't know, the story itself was very confusing to read. I mean I think it touched more on a sci-fi/fantasy level more and this way would have fit into a fantasy world rather than real life,

Ok. I totally did not see that coming. Big twists in this story but it all worked in the end. I admit having some running theories as the story progressed. Did not come close to the truth. Just jump in this one and enjoy the ride.

Flynn and Scarlett are soul mates forever and I loved how they just clicked. Their hearts knew each other. Great set of supporting characters as well. Beautiful setting. I can't say much more about the story without spoilers. I recommended just letting go of any expect

Very interesting and well written book. Some of the characters are a little unorthodox, but that is part of their charm. I think this is defiantly a book with no rival. The thoughts, plots and characters are taken on an unexpected ride throughout the novel that almost leave the reader unsettled. Be fair warned....

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

There are so many authors in this book world that I love. But, there are a few that really write life changing stories. MK is one of those authors. Every time I read one of her books I fall so in love with them. She has this air about her witting that is just so different. Not only do you become one with the book, you feel like you are the character in the book. I felt like I was living life right alongside Jason. Just the blurb alone made me happy sigh, because I knew this was going to be amazi ...more

Although described as contemporary romance, I certainly consider there to be paranormal elements, which isn’t something I frequently read, however, this one was completely addictive, heart-wrenching, emotional, and so on. The story begins with Jason arriving in Serenity, TX for a surprise visit with his aunt Rose. Although it’s more than a surprise visit. He’s had dreams off and on forever about a girl, a place, and now he’s trying to make sense of it all. Not long after arriving in Serenity, he ...more

Ooh this book was not what I was expecting and yet I’m so glad I read it! It was a truly fantastic book. Heartbreaking at times and yet so full of raw emotion. The story is told exclusively from Jason Flynn know as Flynn to his friends POV. Flynn in 20 years old and his life is a mess. He’s from a privileged background but has a strained relationship with his father & stepmother. He spends his time fighting and in his own words seducing women.
But he wants & dreams of more. He dreams of an islan

OMGee, this book, y'all! Holy carp!! Unexpected, magical, devastatingly beautiful and spellbinding! It will have you questioning every reality you thought you knew and believing that “what ifs" can come true, while reaffirming the exquisite gift of forever love. This spectacular wordsmithing will mangle your mind and hurt your heart, then have you jumping for joy and happy sighing all over yourself.

I both liked and didn’t like this book so it is very hard for me to review it. I was so confused several times and thought about dnfing it more than ones but there was something so intriguing about it that made me continue to the end. I had to know what was going on with this poor guy Jason Flynn, who felt that his life wasn’t the way it was supposed to be and that his dreams felt more real and true and almost like memories.
You are thrown around in his dreams and his reality and you get totally

I’m going to admit, and it will probably be an unpopular opinion, but this book was confusing as hell. I spent about 70 percent of the book with a confused look on my face muttering what the heck is happening? Trying so hard to piece the story together and was still wrong. I’m not even sure what genre to cast this book into. I mean it’s supposed to be a romance, but it had kind of a fantasy aspect. It wasn’t a bad book the story is interesting it’s well written it’s just confusing

Jason is not happy with his life and his relationship with his father is in shambles. He numbs his pain with women and alcohol with only his dreams to bring him comfort. In his dreams he is living a happy life with his soulmate in the island town where his Aunt lives. Needing a break from his life he decides to visit and see if his dreams can come true.

Scarlett has dreams for her future, and they don’t involve staying in town. From the first time she meets Jason it as if they have known each oth

I am so lucky because I was part of the Beta read team when MK first wrote Lost years back at 2015. To get to read them at this stage. All raw and gritty. Super amazing! Getting into a book without really knowing what it is all about is really something I don't know how to put into words.

And since it was 2015 when I first read this, I feel like I'm reading this book all over again and going through a deja vu, with me, like Flynn going through his dream state. With new edits Lost Years is one sw

This book sounded interesting. I mean it is interesting but maybe not for me.
I couldn’t get into this.
It’s decent and exactly what I love to read. Love with paranormal elements.
But it didn’t click with me. Maybe it was kinda dull.
I might read it again sometime.

Or maybe it’s my reading funk.

Strangely unique. A love formed in dreams. Emotional journey from childhood to present. The story is told from Jason Flynn’s POV. He had a roller coaster life filled with addictions, fantasies and loneliness. His dreams lead him to visit his Aunt on a Texas island. He meets his dream girl and others who add depth to the story. The story will take you on many twists and turns. It is not what you will be expecting.

Holy wow. This story was so different. I couldn’t put it down I had to know what the he’ll was happening, go to happen, or had already happened. MK Schiller is an amazing story teller and this was a surprisingly refreshing take on first love and how far you will go to keep it.

I really have no idea how to review this book. I didn't hate it but its just too paranormal for my liking. Its just not my jam to be honest. But it was a good read. It kept my attention and was even easy to read. I couldn't deny the mystery and the continual wondering what hell was going on.

This book was addictive, heart-wrenching, emotional, and so much more.. The story begins with Jason arriving in Serenity, TX for a surprise visit with his aunt Rose. Although it’s not really a surprise visit, he’s had dreams off and on forever about a girl, a place, and he's finally trying to sort things out. Not long after arriving in Serenity, he sees the girl of/from his dreams – Scarlett – and thus begins a tumultuous and emotional love story.
I loved all of the imagery and vivid description

In five years I’ve only done a review like this one perhaps once, maybe twice. I wish every reader who is caught up in that Cover Description of LOST YEARS would look no further, just go on instinct and purchase the book. I firmly believe if a reader goes around reading reviews they will be aware of things that should come naturally within the storytelling. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking with it.

Beautifully written love story with so many wonderful and awful surprises
This book made me laugh, cringe, angry, cry and feel…
Twenty-year-old Jason Flynn has had a hard life. Even though his family is wealthy, he has been in and out of rehab for drinking and drugs. He’s left his sister Anna, his father and his second wife in NYC to go visit his Aunt Rose in Serenity, Texas, a small island. His mother died tragically when he was an infant. After that his father changed dramatically. Jason had not

Oh my, I loved this book so much. This is a great story. Well written with wonderful characters. This story will have your mind twisted into a pretzel as you try to figure out what is going on, what is it with his dreams and why is he the only one that seems to remember things that no one else does. Jason dreams of a place that is familiar to him and about a girl that he must find. When he arrives at Serenity and his Aunt Rose's house, things begin to come to him like memories of things that sho ...more

Lost Years by MK Schiller a five-star read that will twist you up. I honestly don’t know how I came to the rating for this one as at times I worried I wouldn’t finish it. If you enjoy a story that takes a while to get going and can be a tad confusing but grips you in the end, then this is one for you. I was sure when I was at 25% that this would be a DNF, but I hate leaving a story undone and just kept on going, I was so confused at times that I had to go back and re-read parts of the story, but ...more

I honestly didn't know what was coming for so much of this book. Schiller creates a story that kept me turning pages oblivious to how the story would end. I found it really exceptional that Flynn starts out as the stereotypical spoiled, neglected rich kid and yet I still liked him so much. He may have more than his share of demons but the man who has a drinking problem and more ghosts than he deserves is also the man who does small kindnesses like cleaning up and taking care of Scarlett and Aunt ...more

This is definitely different than I could have ever imagined and that's a good thing. As an avid reader it's not often that I am surprised and this author took me to a whole nuther level. During most of the book I have to admit, I was shaking and scratching my head and I believe that was the intention of the author. The confusion wasn't bad since it kept you motivated to turn the page yet again to find out what in the world was going on. The confusion doesn't take away from the story it actually ...more

This book sounded interesting, and in the beginning it was, but I can't say that I'm impressed with it. I just couldn't get into it.

At night when he sleeps, he has a very vivid dreams that feel more like memories than dreams. To find a girl from his dreams Jason decides to visit a small Island in Texas where his aunt lives. There he meets the girl from his drea

Let me start this by saying I almost didn't finish reading this book. If a book doesn't capture me in the first couple of chapters then I usually can't keep reading. Since I was reading this book to review for a blog, I kept going. I am really glad I did. It didn't capture me until about half way though or maybe even a little after. But once my attention was caught, I couldn't wait to find out more!!! By the end, I was absolutely in love with Jason and Scarlett. Their story was sweet, heartbreak ...more
