Well done. The author covers every aspect of Russian life with what appeared to be objective assessments of the past and present. Although I thought it had a lot of interesting insights, it was interesting that almost all of the opinions of the country and its government that I have gained over the years from movies, books, and news were the same. I was surprised that I didn't come away with any new opinions.
This book provides an excellent insight into Russian culture and history. It is well-written and accessible, offering a wealth of informative facts that enhance understanding of the subject.
my first book read on the Kindle software on my netbook. It was OK, and a pretty quick read, but lots of the stuff was about customs related more to business relations that what I as a tourist would need to know. I bought it on Kindle simply because there were no used books with price + shipping < cost on Kindle.
Really liked this little book on Russia. It covers cultural aspects on almost everything and is a great lil gateway book to explore more of the fascination that is Russia.
