A Lighter Shade of Blue is a continuation of Aaron and David’s story from Into the Gray, the first book in F.E. Feeley Jr.’s series The Color of Love. Between coming to grips with the speed and intensity of their feelings, and surmounting some major hurdles from their pasts, this couple definitely has some navigating to do! Beautifully written, Feeley delivers all the passion and romance from the first novel and doesn’t dismiss tackling the powerful issues as well.

Mr. Feeley is a new author for

A Lighter Shade of Blue (Color of Love, Book 2)
By FE Feeley, Jr.

Four stars

The sequel to Into the Gray, FE Feeley follows the relationship between Aaron Roberts and David Collins that took tentative root in the first book. The author probes more deeply into the psychological underpinnings of these two men, particularly Aaron, whose true reason for leaving Harvard become apparent as the narrative progresses.

I confess, I read nearly the entire book without clicking on

A Joyfully Jay review.

Right off the bat, I’m going to tell you how I was a little nervous when I discovered one of my favorite books of the year, Into the Gray, had a sequel. That book was perfection and I hold it very close to my heart. However, there’s no reason for me to worry. A Lighter Shade of Blue is the sequel of my dreams. It’s as perfect, or close to perfect, as the original. Instead of taking away my memories of Aaron and David, I think it brings me even closer to them that I

Shade and emotion in this sequel about David and Aaron. I didn't expect the intensity of this. Yikes! FE Feeley nails how life can kick you in the balls when you feel it's cruisin' along. Erica and Dee Dee were back too. Don't wanna give anything away. Blog review about the book soon.

It is so refreshing to see a young author grow, sprout their wings and try other genres; and succeed! Mr Feely, first began writing with Horror and Paranormal aspects. To this I nicknamed him a second coming of Stephen King. I loved his work.

So, when I saw this new series The Color of Love, I was both happy and s

This is the second book in the series and we pick up a couple of months past the ending in book one.

Aaron seems a bit more vulnerable in this second installment. As a reader, I felt we were given a deeper look, past the false bravado. It broke my heart at times to watch him wade through the waters that seemed to constantly try and pull him under. I was thankful for those he called friends, they got it.
No judgment, No compromise. Each act of support, of love, was done with unconditional acceptan

This second book in the series picks up where Into the Gray left off and is a little lighter on the steam and a little heavier on the feels. David and Aaron are still just as lovable while there isn't as much steamy fun, what there is is scrumptious. Our couple has some growing to do on the relationship front while also figuring out how to let go of the past, so the emotions run high. Again, we get a novella length read with lots of story packed in, and characters that leave you wanting more of ...more

Gosh, the more I read in this book series (and I DO hope there will be more colors), the more I am loving the story. Aaron and David got a quick insta lust start, but in this book, we see more serious issues that they are confronted with including loss, bigotry, pain...but most of all love. The love of friends, the love that comes from years and lifetimes together and the love between two men who have trouble realizing they deserve it. There were a few tears, but also some happy cheers when one ...more

“The soul always knows how to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.” ~ Caroline Myss

David and Aaron, of ‘A Lighter Shade of Blue’ by F. E. Feely, are cautiously optimistic about their newfound relationship. Discovering he is bisexual rocks David’s world even more than his divorce from his wife. Aaron suffers from PTSD; at any time he is in danger of experiencing a debilitating anxiety attack. In order to save his sanity, he flees from Boston and his drug addicted ex, after finding h
