This is my first book by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I enjoyed the story in itself. I thought Ben and Abby are wonderful characters. Both of them haunted and a bit broken by their pasts. They aren’t perfect, which makes them real.
My problem with this book however was the lack of real interaction between the main Characters. there is so little of it, that for me the attraction and heartbreak didn’t make sense. In a romance book there needs to be more between the character to make ...more

This book delivers plenty of feels as this older man/younger woman story unfolds. I really liked Ben and Abby. Their attraction sizzled, their chemistry was steamy and their passion hot. Even with all the heat, there is also a steady dose of sweetness as these two wounded individuals find love. Abby's son was very cute and helped create many heart melting moments. I received this book as part of an ARC review. Both Abby and Ben had unfortunate histories where they either lost or had to give up a loved one. Neither was willing to give up blaming themselves until friends and family get through to them. While dealing with their problems, Ben and Abby meet and fall for each other. It is a journey and while not smooth, Ben and Abby finally deal with their personal issues and get together to have the family they both deserve.
Great story with an unconventional couple! When Ben meets Abigail at the bar, he's attracted but is hung up on her age. She's a year younger than the son he gave up when he was seventeen. Ms. Hagen has given us two terrific characters& & an attraction that they can't ignore. They both have to work through their guilt before they can make a relationship work. I don't want to say anything more & give anything away. If you are looking for a quick feel good book, don't pass this one up!

This was a great older man/ younger woman romance! Ben’s a hot older man and Abby is a young single mom. This story has great characters and a storyline that grabbed me from the start! I didn’t want it to end! There were secrets kept that when they come out cause problems for the couple. Will they be able to work through them or is it the end for them? I guess you’ll have to read it to find out! I hope you do! You’ll be glad you did!

This was such a sweet yet sizzling story. Ben is the hot older guy who is trapped by the mistakes his 17 year old past self made. Abby is a struggling widow with a four year old son. When the two meet in a bar, these wounded souls find a bond that they want to explore. Well written, this story grabbed me from the very first page, and carried me to the happy ending. A wonderful quick summer read.
A good quick summer beach read. There are some heavier moments but they do not bring you down, just help you become more emotionally involved in the story line. I will tell you that this book does involve a silver fox, a cute little boy and lots of hot chemistry! I could easily see this as the start of a great small town romance series.
This was such a wonderful book to read. Abby and Ben were really strong, witty, and caring individuals with lots of personal demons clouding their future. Putting them together was genius. Ben and Abby were a cute read from beginning to end. There were sad past events but they made up for it. Ben was older than Abby and was a bet hesitant while she didn’t see age. They were perfect together and complimented each other. Ben was carrying a burden from when he was 17 years old and 31 years later he’s able to live thanks to Abby. Great story with great characters.
Ben is the hot as hell older guy who meets Abby, the younger mom of a 4 year old little boy.
Damn, their times together were so explosive and hot! I really did not want their story to end. These were great characters that grabbed me right from the start. I honestly loved everything about this book and could not put it down. I could definitely see myself reading this again and again.

Great start to a new series
Ben meets Abby in a bar and is immediately taken by her. Abby is still dealing with the loss of her husband but Ben is ticking alot of boxes. Ben is quite a bit older than Abby and tells her his deepest darkest secret but when he finds out Abby kept a big secret from him will he be able to move past it and have the love and life he deserves?

Angst, then happiness
This book has quite a bit of angst, but it leads to growth and happiness. The characters are human and warm. I dislike the graphic sex. The rest of the book is enjoyable.
