Ruby Dixon is an author of Science Fiction Romance. She likes fated mates, baby-filled epilogues, and cinnamon roll heroes. She also likes to write biographies of herself in the third person, because it feels more important that way.

Ruby also loves coffee and dirty books and will probably be a cat lady at some point. :)

4.5 stars: I wish all authors would do this

Give us more of the couples we love 🥹. I laughed way too many times, but I also got emotional and had tears in my eyes ☹️This was so perfect- it goes to show that sometimes life will have its ups and downs, but as long as you love each other, everything will be okay 🫶…

I just wish it was longer 😭

This is literally what the title says it is- a honeymoon. Except, Georgie wants to do more than just have a romantic getaway… she wants to do the right thing and go back to the ship that brought her to this planet, and she needs Vektal’s help ❤️. Being the amazing husband that he is, he accepts, as long as he makes his Georgie happy 🥹

I loved/liked:
—the 🤣 moments. There were so many: like the underwear garments, the man eater misunderstanding 🤣, the fact that males shouldn’t question what females put in their mouths, and ERMAGOD- Liz wanting a honeymoon too and Raahosh being like “umm… we already have that” was just 🤣 💀

—the 🔥. Good LAWD 🥵. I swear it had the same amount as book 1 did 😅. Uuuuff, it did NOT disappoint 😮‍💨. Plus. I love how amazed Vektal is and how much he worships Georgia 😉

—mating her mouth 🔥 love that Vektal loves kissing lol

—he calls her Sweet Resonance 😭🫠

—burying the dead ☹️. I got emotional 😞

—the sweet stuff ❤️. Sigh. I just loved seeing them as an established couple 🥹

I wanted it to be longer 😭 but I was oh so happy with what we got ❤️

Overall, I LUUURVED this ❤️🫶

I move over her and lie down next to her in the furs, cupping her face and pulling her close. “What troubles you so, my heart? Say it, and if it is in my power to grant it, I shall.”

━━━━━━━━━━━ ♡ ━━━━━━━━━━━

I wasn't prepared for the "my heart" 🤧💘. Vektal (H) remains his gentlemanly, and goofy self. Honestly, he's such a sweetheart but he's so stupid sometimes it cracks me up.

“The smile she sends in my direction is genuine and full of affection, and I am even more pleased when she puts a hand to her mouth and purses her lips. This is called “blowing kisses” and it is meant as to mimic a mouth-mating from afar. I do the same, putting my hand to my mouth and then I lick it long and slow so she may know exactly what parts of her I am thinking of mating.”

And then later...

Nearby, Haeden looks at me with disgust. "Did you just lick your hand?"
"It was for my mate," I tell him, as if that explains everything.

BYEEE 😹 I had such a fun time with this lil novella. Though it actually was quite hard-hitting at first. Georgie (h) prepositions Vektal to go on a honeymoon but she actually goes back to the crashed space ship to find and bury Dominique, Krissy and Peg 🤧🥺. I actually really appreciated this, because it shows how these lives are not to be brushed off without care. Their death is significant, and they're granted a loving burial that I actually found very touching.

After that, Vektal and Georgie do go on a honeymoon. I'd say there are roughly two full sex scenes in this novella (if I remember correctly) and there were a handful of fade to blacks (just warning you 💔). But what was there...was THERE 😌.

A moment later, Vektal sits up, lifting me into the air. I'm on my back—gently—in the furs a moment later, my knees pushing up to my chest. He moves over me, and I'm giggling even as he presses the hot, thick length of him into my core.

"What's so funny?" he asks, sliding one of my ankles up to his big shoulder. He runs his hand up and down my leg, that possessive, delicious look in his eye.

"I can't believe you're ready to go again, that's all." I smile up at him, and my smile turns into a gasp when he drives deep into me.

"I will always be ready for you, my Georgie."

Hell yeah 😌😌😌 sorry, Ruby ate with that scene. Overall, it was lovely to see Georgie still being treated like a queen, and even to see the group beginning to pair up 🤭. I kind of feel like I'm watching a reality TV show, wondering who's going to go with who. Georgie is also very conscious of her pregnancy now, so we see he doing less manual labour etc. I can't lie, I dislike that he doesn't want her to do anything (like help carry her friend's corpses) only because she's carrying his baby inside her. Like I would think it's also because you don't want her to hurt herself? With pregnancy, I feel like women are too often treated as vessels but that's a deep dive for another day, I guess. I am particularly curious about Ariana and Zolaya's romance, Barbarian's Beloved because of one particularly funny mention.

"One of the females said that Zolaya's mate is a man-eater," Cashol says. "Should we warn him to be weary of her? Do you think she truly devours human flesh?"

Meanwhile, Vektal thinks he's talking about blowjobs, because that's uncommon there but Georgie blows him all the time and he's fascinated 😹.

"Human's have different ways of showing their affection," Vektal says, and he sounds both confident and condescending. "Whatever she puts in her mouth, it is between her and her mate."

(Megan and Georgie are listening in behind a wall.)

I'm really, really dying right about now. Megan makes a crude gesture with a hand and I slap it away, trying not to burst in a fit of giggles.

MEGAN 💀. Idfc, Dixon is an ARTIST. Very much looking forward to meeting Adriana 😋. I'll leave you with a last lil snippet of Georgie and Vektal's adorableness.

Georgie yawns and rubs her eyes. “I’m up.”
“Clearly,” I tease, tapping the tip of her small human nose. “Let us eat something before we go.”

They are such a married couple, I love them 😭💘.

Ice Planet Honeymoon is exactly what the doctor ordered for COVID19 quarantine reading.

Ruby Dixon is an author that I absolutely love and praise often – and it is because of books like this. She is so close with her readers and I believe it is because of those relationships that books like this exist. We wanted it, so she delivered. She is so interactive, attentive, and kind. I have so much respect for her because of that. I'm not sure that she knew she would be creating such an awesome community when she published the first IPB book. If you aren't following her on Facebook and you love this series, you really, REALLY need to do that now. I love all her updates!

I don't really want to say much about this as it is a short novella, but I do feel the need to share that this is a tad more than just smut. Georgie has been haunted by a certain event that took place in the first book. Her big heart isn't going to let her get peace until she does something about it. She convinces Vektal to partake in a human tradition, honeymooning, to achieve her goal and put her worries to rest.

I gave this one 5 stars because it really proved to me that Georgie is a leader. She deserves to stand beside Vektal and lead the tribe. ♥

"One of the females said that Zennek's mate is a man-eater," Cashol says. "Should we warn him to be wary of her? Do you think she truly devours human flesh?"

This is honestly all you need to know to understand why I like this series.

Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡
Romance: 💞💞💞💞
Sensuality: 💋💋💋💋

Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥

(These are all personal preference on a scale of 1-5 (yours ratings may vary depending what gives you feels and how you prefer you sex scenes written, etc) except the Steam Scale which follows our chart from A Love Less Ordinary )

Should I read in order?
Yes, this is basically an epilogue for Ice Planet Barbarians (book 1) and features the honeymoon for Vektal and Georgie. (It mentions Liz, Marlene, Nora, Stacy, and Ariana have all resonated – I’m sure there’s a picture somewhere within the Rubyverse that will say exactly when to read this novella because I’m not sure!

Basic plot:
Georgie requests a honeymoon from Vektal

Give this a try if you want:
- science fiction romance
- alien setting (Not Hoth)
- shorter novel (goodreads has it at 55 pages)
- higher steam – 2 full scenes within a short page count
- fated mates
- pregnancy

First line:
I wake up to find Vektal watching me sleep. Again

My thoughts:
This is a very short story an basically a good sized epilogue for Vektal and Georgie. I thought it was a sweet story that gave a bit of closure from the first book. Great steamy scenes and humor make this a fun, quick read!

Cock/Hero Stats:

Quotes/thoughts:

“Your mate has a mouth, too,” he murmurs, sliding lower even as he pulls me up. “And he wants to use it. Come and sit on my face.”

2 Honey Moons Stars ⭐️

What on all of "Not-Hoth" was this????? What did I just read???
This was completely unnecessary.

I don't really see the point of this Novella. I was quite happy with where the original story ended. And to have this as its own separate novella, I can see WHY it was included in the print version, cause it's nothing new!

I wasn't really interested... as much as Vektal and Georgie were cute... they're not my favourite couple. I am going to forget about them by next week. So to have to read an entire novella about the two of them doing pretty much of the same from the previous book was boring...

If you loved the first book and you probably love this too. For me, it was painful. I wanted it to end and I was SO CLOSE to a DNF, but given that it was so short, I just stuck through it.

4 mouth-mating stars!

In this short novella we get to spend some more time with Georgie & Vektal as they embark on a “Honey-moons” after they have been mated. I loved that this wasn’t just about a quick vacation with nothing but endless sex but an emotional journey that we took with Georgie as she deals with her grief and embraces her role as a leader in her new tribe. (Although don’t worry – there was some hot mating of mouths and other body parts too!)

There’s something sweet and innocent about Vektal. Despite his ferociousness and the harsh world they live in, he’s charmingly naïve and adorable for it. I hope he never loses it and becomes as jaded as I am.

Once again we see Vektal’s devotion to Georgie. How sweet and patient he is with her!

On to the next book!

It's so strangely satisfying that the huge blue alien with horns is CUTE. So cute and more romantic than a lot of normal humans bookboyfriends I read.

And please can this girl has her kit already??? I want to meet the alien/human baby, I'm curious.

Super short novela, but I already knew that. What I didn’t know is that honeymoon was codeword for I guess it was just bleh. I do love these stories though and will continue reading them. This one was just not needed. Also, Georgie’s character was super uptight in this. I know she’s married to the chief but I never realized what a personality A she was. Everything with her had a constant feeling/sense of urgency. It kind of bummed me out.

It is super short and very sweet though. I don’t regret buying it. I just realized that Georgie and Vektal were never that interesting to me. Now Liz and Raahosh...give me more!!!

Brief summary: This is the continuation of Vektal and Georgie’s story. They go on a depressing honeymoon to bury those Georgie has lost since being abducted by aliens.

Triggers: mentions of death

Dislikes:

It wasn't necessary. It was cute, but didn't add anything to the series.

Likes:

The book was short (55 pages) and sweet.

Vektal. He’s so endearing. This quote describes his character better than I ever could:
There’s something sweet and innocent about Vektal. Despite his ferociousness and the harsh world they live in, he’s charmingly naive and adorable for it.

I love how attentive he is towards Georgie. He notices things most people wouldn’t and it’s adorable.
I know when she is distressed over something. It is in the way she takes a little longer to answer each question, in the small furrow between her brows when she sews, the way she stares at the fire a little too long.

Georgie. She’s like a mother hen to all the girls. She’s so tough, selfless and brave. She’s an easy character to root for because she possesses so many good traits. She makes the book significantly more enjoyable :)

🤷🏼‍♀️ idk how to rate this because it was so short and random. I don't really get the concept of a "honeymoon" on this planet because there's nowhere else to go except to another cave to have lots of sex and they already do that at home so...not very different but okay.

I always said that if I ever re-read this series I would read all of the novellas because I skipped them the first time around and I was already fucking up because I forgot just how many of them there are...oh well, onwards.

The title is misleading. Yes, they go off on their "honeymoon" but the main focus is on a more depressing event. This honestly just made me sad and I don't know if it was altogether necessary. I love this series but I wasn't a huge fan of this one. I'd rather get an update from them in the present rather than relive something that happened in the past.

Vektal and Georgie

This had a more somber theme than the smutty honeymoon read I was expecting, but I appreciated the character depth. It was a wonderful extended epilogue and was ultimately a story of growth, trust, and love. 4.25 stars!
