Lacey Shyver is what others would call an inspiration, however the way Lacey sees it she is shy, uncomfortable with others, and just biding time day to day. Lacey is in college and she wishes about finding a true love, about not feeling squeamish by someones touch, and about feeling normal.

This is a story about Lacey's four years in college, finding herself, growing strong, and finding heartbreak. You do not get to know Lacey immediately, her story unravels through out the book and I thought t

This is Lacey’s story.. Lacey has a disability. This is her struggle. If you want to know what the book is about, read the blurb, otherwise this book is about real struggles and the need for Lacey to know what happened when she was taken away from her family, and dealing with the consequences of the experiments she underwent. On the whole I enjoyed the book, it reads easy, and the characters are easy to like, but sometimes I felt it dragged on a little. Also I still can’t decide if I’m #teamShan ...more

For Lacey June 9th holds sadness at first a day when the one she loved left her. But is the one that left her with our regard for her heat her true love? Or is the one that left her with a promise of more the one she has to fight for? For Lacey those are just some of the questions that plague her. She struggles with insecurities and a trauma from her past that make it hard for her to move forward. Wheel chair bound she is afraid that all people (guys in particular) only see the chair and not her ...more

What a book!!!
I absolutely loved this story but I want to know more about Lacey and Shane. Lacey was taken from her family to have a better life and get the help she needed to live for a long time. Blake is a boy that she met in one of her classes and she began to have feelings for him. She wants love and to be loved. Blake helped her to open herself up for something she wants but was only a friend. Then came Shane. Shane has a lot of things he holds in his past and Lacey tries to understand his

Such a unique book. Lacey is a
Multidimensional character. She is wheelchair bound and is guarded about how others treat her. She meets Blake who stirs something deep within her.
Then she meets Shane and he taps into her emotions as well.
You can relate to Lacey with her insecurities and questions of the genuineness of others. She has dealt with and continues to deal with so much . Well written read.

Totally new to me author. Prior to reading this book I have never heard of this author. I was pleasantly pleased with the fact that this book is very different from the normal writing style in that Lacey, the heroine, is differently able, and wheelchair bound. She has been through so much, but her character is extremely strong and very brave. I will be honest, at times, reading this book parts of it was very emotional but it's still a good, distinct read!

I read this book with an open mind but it fell a bit flat for me. It wasn't bad but i wouldn't read it again. It was pretty slow at the beginning and kind of hard to keep track but the overall, it was just okay. The love triangle was the most interesting part of the book but i wish it had more plot to go off.

This is my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. You ever find yourself wondering what happens after the book is over/ the story has ended? Then this book definitely does that to you. I did not think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. Fantastic book and highly recommended.

There were parts of this story that I really loved and parts that I didn't care a whole lot for. Lacey having a disability was interesting because I don't see that a lot in the books I read. The back and forth break up/make up between Lacey and Shane kind of gave me whiplash. Overall this was a pretty good book and I will read the next one so I can see what happens with these two!!

I liked the plot and the characters as a whole but found it could be boring at some points. It was an overall good book and loved learning about Lacey and her struggles and how she a person dealt with them and the men in her life.

Lacey has some insecurities, especially being in a wheel chair. She can't stand to be touched.  She meets 2 boys, Blake and Shane. She has feelings for both but one a bit more. I loved reading how it all turned out.

Liked that this story was about real life struggles. Not the easy perfect people this most are about. Brought awareness to the struggle of MD. I couldn’t decided if I wanted her with Shane or. Lake. Still back and forth about it.

The topics in this one are real life struggles. Lacey is learning about love for the first time. Has she found it.

This is a new author for me and I found myself really enjoying this book. I did get thrown for a loop on how the chapters started but I slowly was engrossed with the story.

As a quadriplegic it's not often that I find a character that realistically depicts the thoughts, emotions, and ups and downs of living in a world not always accessible. With her creation of Lacey I applaud Ms. Goliesh in opening up dialogue when it comes to the definition of beauty, disability, and HEA. The author continually holds up a mirror and it's not always a pretty reflection as the outside world often treats Lacey as a child constantly in need of help or an inspiration not allowed to to ...more

>>>I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. <<<

June 9th- a book by Emha Goliesh about the struggle of life, but based on a totally different basis.

Lacey, the female protagonist, is having a neuromuscular disease which seems to control her whole life. Whatever she does, the disease always finds a way to influence her life . Even then she still tries to take part in life as much as she can, especially when it comes to her studies.
Besides, she also has to deal with other pr

June 9th was the date my life crashed all around me, the date where I couldn't live a sane life anymore - a date where I first discovered that love really can make someone crazy, even fall onto the mental institution train. June 9th by Emma Goliesh reminded me of a teen book called Just South of Biloxi, a book where a girl had fallen in love with her best friend. The thoughts though that surrounded love had caused her to look from the outside as a crazy woman. In June 9th we meet Lacey whom is a

This is slightly different from my norm .. a love story of sorts based on Lacey’s experiences as a youngster growing up with the usual insecurities that surround this age group in school/college, but she also has disabilities to take into account.

It’s a story of discovery, love yourself in order for someone to love you. She couldn’t believe that anyone would willingly choose her when there are so many able-bodied people to pick first. Blake seems the ultimate catch, can she believe & trust that

"June 9th was the date my life crashed all around me, the date where I couldn't live a sane life anymore - a date where I first discovered that love really can make someone crazy."

This was a good book. To me, it is a book about strength, struggles, love, and acceptance. I felt many emotions while reading this ranging from happiness, sadness, empathy, and admiration.

Lacey has a medical condition that affects her in many ways. She doesn't want to be touched yet she just wants to feel normal. She

The synopsis marked this book out for me as something different, refreshing - a different point of view for a romance. And it was a different perspective, just not the one I was expecting.

On the whole, the story-telling was well paced, and the side characters colourful and entertaining. The character I struggled to connect with the most was Lacey herself. Although described as a strong individual, I didn't find her to be so. Often in tears, I felt she was naive and needy, almost to the point of

The Book Fairy Reviews
An emotional journey into the life of Lacey and her struggles with her condition. Can a girl that has loved with the looks and the pity of her illness find love?
Blake sees her not just her condition but when doubt and insecurities plague can she see the truth or lose him by failing prey to her own doubt.
A story of growth a story of acceptance a story that will make you cry and bring you joy all at once.
I loved it and embraced her feeling her insecurities and her pain.

Really great book. I loved this story even though it was not your normal book. I think that Lacey's character was great and it was an interesting twist on her story with her disability and what she had gone through. I do have to say I hated how it ended. It was kind of a let down. Other that that I loved the story line and was a good book
