Karen Rose is one of my favorite Romantic Suspense authors and I know with every book of hers that I start that I will love it. Into the Dark was no different and right from the beginning this story had me captivated. Dani and Diesel had a relationship and connection that actually surprised me with how personal they got. It was a bit of a change from the usual heavy focus on the suspense that Ms. Rose does but I liked that we got to see so much of these characters

We've been waiting a while for Dani and Diesel's story, and we finally have it, in Into the Dark - the 23rd in Karen Rose's romantic suspense series.

I'll start by saying that all of KR's books are fantastic and it would be very unlikely for me to give them anything other than 5 stars.

Dani is a doctor. She's part of the family KR has built in her universe, that includes Police, FBI, Therapists, Reporters, Volunteers - basically all good people with open hearts and selfless personalities. Diesel
Dani and Diesel - I've been waiting for this one for a long time and Karen Rose did not disappoint. No one and I mean no one can craft a thriller like Karen Rose. Layers upon layers and lots of bodies make a maze of a tale and at the heart are two innocent children who Diesel and Danni have to protect. We get a round up of all the Cincinnati Series characters and It was great to see them in action along with Dani and Diesel. I suspect that this may be the last Cincinnati Series book and it was ...more

Fourteen-year-old Michael witnesses the murder of his stepfather. His stepfather was a pedophile and abused Michael, so I wasn’t too broken up over his death. My heart truly went out to Michael growing up with a neglectful, selfish mother. She didn’t even bother to learn sign language even though Michael was deaf from birth. On top of all that, she marries an abusive asshole leaving her kids vulnerable!

When the police start to investigate the murder, the killer realizes he may have

Into the Dark is the fifth instalment in the Cincinnati series and is the most gripping and absorbing so far. There is no problem with jumping into the series in this book although you will probably not want to miss the preceding book as this is romantic suspense at its best. The plot follows two brothers, Michael and Joseph, who happen to be there to witness a man being bundled into the boot of a car never to be seen again; they then find themselves in grave danger by the very same person as ...more

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Karen Rose has done it again - another fantastic un-put-downable book full of romance, suspense, action and twists.
I love all her books and they just get better and better.
This installment is focussed on Dani and Diesel and their budding romance.
I love every character and story in this series.
Thank you for another amazing page turner Karen Rose!
Into the Dark is the twenty-third book in the Romantic Suspense series by Author Karen Rose. This series includes many characters from different professions but all the professions are aimed at helping others and all of the protagonists are about exposing the truth, no matter how ugly. This book features two characters, Diesel Kennedy and Dani Novak, who are both drawn to each other but Dani has been resisting the attraction. She has been successful at keeping Diesel at arm’s length for quite ...more

I don't even know what to say about this book. Karen is my favorite author and I always get so excited when she releases a new book. This book had me laughing, crying, angry and more. This was a very emotional book and so personal indeed. I loved all the characters. My heart ached for Michael and Joshua. Karen did an amazing job with this book and putting her personal experiences into the story made it so much more beautiful. One of my favorite books by her. Amazingly written and very emotional ...more

When it comes to romantic suspense this author is definitely in my top five so I always know that I'm going to get a well written story with a twisting plot that keeps me holding my breath. This particular book not only has a vigilante killer who is almost like the Angel of death but also the romance that regular readers have been waiting for because it's Dani and Diesel !
It all begins with a teenage boy struggling to save his brother from their brutal, sadistic stepfather. Michael sees a

Whenever I read a Karen Rose book no sooner have I finished it than I want to go back and reread all the other books in that series. I love the way her main characters all link up and appear in each others' stories, you can almost tell whose story will feature in the next book.
This book centres around two young boys who inadvertently witness a murder. A vigilante has set himself up as judge, jury and executioner and is wiping out those offenders who might otherwise escape justice.

Having never read a book by this author, initially I found it a tough going. Soon the story emerged and I found myself right in the middle of the plot.

A witness to a kidnapping and probably murder Michael, while protecting his brother Joshua, the two turned to Dani a doctor and Diesel a hacker for help and protection. Soon murders occurred and the duo started investigating.

Karen Rose is a proficient writer whose play of words soon caught my interest. This book was part of a series, and I knew

I loved this book! And I was really wanting a good one. This one made me remember why I started reading Ms. Rose.

There was a little too much parading all the past characters which is a pet peeve of mine. A lot of them didn't really add to the plot and felt like filler.

The plot itself was really good...although a sad and difficult subject. Ms. Rose did not exploit but did show how damaging sexual abuse is. Dani and Diesel were good together and I really liked the two boys who

Karen Rose never disappoints! Although 95% of my “reading” is done through audio books these days, I jumped at the chance to get an ARC of Rose’s newest title. For those who are longtime readers, the supporting cast of characters found within are old friends and it was definitely good to see them. Although the plot features a vigilante intent on punishing people he thinks deserve it, time is also spent on the issues of child sexual abuse and living with HIV. We find out more about our heroine, ...more

Wow. Cincinnati book 5 and the one we've all been waiting for. Yes we finally get Dani and Diesels story. And what a story it is! It's raw, horrific, real, heart breaking but also warm and compassionate. I had to stop reading a few times as I was in floods of tears. I love Karen Rose books as when you pick one up its like meeting up with old friends. The characters begin to feel like real people. The plot, as ever, is fast, twisting and keeps you on the edge of your seat til the ...more

Firstly,DON'Tlet the size of this book put you off. If you don't like chunky books, this is genuinely one of those novels where you get to the last page and say ''s over...'. It genuinelyflies.

Secondly.DON'Tlet the fact it's book 5 in the series bother you, genuinely you willwant to read Books 1-4 after finishing 'Into The Dark', that is guarenteed, but you don't need prior knowledge to be reading the fifth in the Cincinatti series.

Thirdly, and most importantly, this book is a stone cold

I really enjoy the Romantic Suspense series . I've read them all. I started the series with the first Cincinnati book, with Faith and Deacon. It was actually #16 overall. Then I went back and read the previous 15 books. Into the Dark takes us back to Cincinnati, where we see many old friends from the other Cincinnati

Into the Dark is a book that is full of heartbreaking, heart-pounding and heartwarming moments. A compelling mystery that goes into interesting directions.

It's finally Dani and Diesel Time !!
This book has been long-awaited as we have seen Diesel pine for Dani in the previous Cincinnati books, and we all know that they would be perfect together.

One of my favourite elements of Karen Roses books is that she highlights different issues. This book focuses on a deaf victim and shines spotlight things

This is the 5th book in the Cincinnati Series and I would recommend that whilst this book can be read as a stand alone reading her previous books would be of benefit .
I love how the Author manages to bring characters from previous books/series into her stories , providing a solid background and continuity - but also being able to start another storyline that hooks the reader .

Into the Dark by Karen Rose was exactly what I expect from her Cincinnati series and I loved it. First, I must say that her inclusion of deaf characters was amazing. As someone who is mostly deaf in one ear, I love to read about characters who have similar struggles and still maintain active, happy lives. The BAHA that Dani wears was an option offered to me by my ENT a year ago!

Now, I have to say that Into The Dark is pretty much one long trigger. There is child molestation discussed

All I'm going to say is I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this author. 2nd book I've read by her and loved them both
Karen Rose is one of my top 5 authors and I really love her books!!!

The cast of characters in this book are awesome!!!! A couple of new arrivals, a lot of friends turned family, some evil, most good, but all of them will suck you right into their world.

While this can be read as a stand alone and Karen does give you some background into the characters, I recommend you read all the books because they are great.

I never give any details away because what's the point of reading the book if I tell you

Karen Rose's most personal book to date. The author's note at the beginning shares the genetic condition that her family has that she incorporated into the characters in this book. Knowing that going in it just felt so much more personable and that along with the other condition she gave Dani Novak it was a very heartfelt read. Her characters are always the type that pull you in but this group in this book had for me a much more emotional connection.

Even then thrilling part of the book – the

I was very happy to receive this book, first because it is based in Cincinnati where I live, although it basically only uses neighborhood names to say what's going on where. Then I started to read, and became totally engrossed in the story. I enjoy a good thriller but wouldn't generally one that was focused on child physical and sexual abuse, but his was so good I hated putting it down to sleep.

Michael has only one concern - keeping his brother Joshua safe. The only way to do that is making sure they stay together, and their step-father away from him. When he stumbles upon said step-father preparing to put his brother in danger certain events are set in motion that will change their lives forever.

I have to say kudos to the author for writing the story in such a careful, thoughtful and emotive way. Part of me wishes, and I can imagine other readers and perhaps even the author, that

#5 in the Cincinnati series but can easily be read as a stand-alone.

Young Michael saves his little brother from an abduction by his stepfather, only then to witness a murder.

Micheal has been injured, not only during the rescue of his brother, but by the abuse by his stepdad and his mother’s violence.

The killer is on a mission to stop abusers, to make them suffer before they die, but he knows Michael can identify him.

When Michael’s mother ‘forgets’ to pick up Joshua from soccer, Michael ruses
Like most fans I've been waiting for this book, for Dani to pull her head out of her ass and let herself be happy with Diesel. Both of them had issues to work through and it feel like at times they were forced to do so because of the boys. I didn't mind that because those boys were so sweet! I loved that by caring for the boys it gave both Dani and Diesel a glimpse of what life could be like if only they would let themselves have happiness.

The crimes in this one were so involved. So many

My favourite Karen Rose books are the ones where she brings 2 long term recurring characters together so I was excited to read Diesel and Dani’s story, I think I was expecting something like Clay and Stevie but this wasn’t quite as satisfying but still very enjoyable. I always learn something from KR books about conditions people are living with and I always appreciate those little details
