This book was a-ma-zing!! I adore Roseanna M. White's books and if you asked me to pick a fave, I'd go into an intense bookwormish sort of analysis paralysis. lol! But truly, this one would be right up there at the top. I. love. Phillip. Wounded heroes are always my favorite, but there's something extra enticing and intriguing about this fallen pilot called Black Heart. And Arabelle is a fantastic, strong, and sympathetic heroine. The plot moves at a great pace - fast enough to keep me turning ...more

From the moment I met Philip Camden in Number of Love, I knew he was something special. He bursted bitterly on the scene with a fantastic hook of a past and basically threw cold water of Margot and Drake's burgeoning relationship and I loved it. Inspy fiction so RARELY gets a Philip Camden. In On Wings of Devotion, we see the more vulnerable side underneath the steely exterior of a man awaiting court martial and probably firing squad for the elimination of his entire squadron. He bides his time ...more

Yes, those read dates are correct for this book. I literally finished the audiobook, then started it over again and listened to it a second time right in a row. It's that good.

Roseanna M. White is one of my auto-buy authors. She's one of the top Christian historical fiction writers I know for writing such a great blend of slow but swoony romance, great historical details, enough action and adventure and danger to make the books fast-paced and interesting, characters that have a real depth and

Seemingly underestimated, unnoticed, and underappreciated, Arabelle's Denler's broken engagement gave one more indication that she was never going to measure up. After all, her nursing career could provide fulfillment; it could, it absolutely could . . . .until a pilot with a broken spirit lands on her doorstep and opens up an infinity of possibilities.

I just need a second to gush! Y'ALL THIS BOOK WAS AMAZEBALLS! So stinkin' good, and such a great way to start off the reading year!

Roseanna is a crazy talented author. I don't think she has written a book I haven't liked. She writes such unique and REAL characters, they're just so easy to fall in love with!
Not many authors can take the risks she does and pull them off.

This book was no different! I loved every one of the characters! They each played their part perfectly! The villains, the leads,
Great googly moogly…..THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!!!! As much as I loved the first one, I think I may have loved this one slightly more. I could hardly stop reading I was so in love. The first two books in The Codebreakers series was just what I needed to start this year off.

Roseanna White is a crazy talented author. She is able to capture so much emotion, action, and realness in her books. Her characters are all lovable, real, and just so amazing. The way that she can capture a readers attention just

On Wings of Devotion is the second story in The Codebreakers series, and oh my word is it amazing! Confession here, I’m not much of a re-reader of novels, but after I reached the satisfying ‘The End’, I had the overwhelming urge to flip back to page one and devour the book all over again.

The interactions between the brooding, mad-at-the-world pilot, Phillip Camden, and the tenderhearted, Jesus-loving nurse, Arabelle Denler, were brilliant. Their witty banter made me chuckle while their

I'm so excited to have discovered a new author whose books I love! Roseanna M. White! She writes historical fiction which is one of my favorite genres. This particular series is set during WWII and it really is amazing. The whole story just came alive in my head. I could picture the characters, the places and all the things going on. On Wings of Devotion is the second book in the series. I was lucky enough to pick up book one (The Number of Love) on a deal from Amazon (It's still on sale for ...more
This is White at her best!

Roseanna White's expert pen transports her readers to WWI England, her stellar research immersing us into a fictional world that is filled with espionage, danger and romance. In my humble opinion, Ms. White pens some of the most touching moments that will tug at your heart. And some of the most romantic moments that will have her readers swooning. The thread of God's love and grace is not forced but woven seamlessly throughout the story.

Her characters are endearing

"You'll either be a villain or a hero, Phil. Try to pick the right one, will you?"

On Wings of Devotion is an incredible story of compassion and redemption! White has significantly raised the bar in Christian fiction with this one. Even with a tad slow start, it didn’t take long for Phillip and Arabelle to take purchase in my heart. Both so different and yet so in need of the other; their love story is one that I will long remember.

This book has a strong Christian theme expertly woven

Um 10 out of 5 stars!!! Review will be up soon!

Y’all, if you just read one book this year, let it be this one! Honestly, I don’t have enough good things to say about this book and Roseanna M. White’s writing in general. She is the most phenomenal author ever!

That being said, what was it that I enjoyed about this book? Everything! From the very first page, I was pulled right into the pot and I didn’t want to put this book down until finished. The plot wasn’t fast-paced like a suspense novel, but

I have been a fan of Roseanna M. White’s writing since discovering her earlier Culpepper Ring series and she never disappoints. Her writing is lyrical, characterization deep, storylines complex and unique. A gifted author from the beginning, White just keeps getting better and better. There are tie-ins to characters from previous series in this second Codebreakers book, but it totally works as a standalone. If this is your initial

Oh where to even begin with this absolutely amazing book?! Roseanna M. White has done it again and has delivered a stunningly beautiful story that has it all! I don’t know how in the world she does it but her writing always blows me a way and there are countless times that I find myself stopping to reread a sentence multiple times just to appreciate how brilliantly crafted each word is!

On Wings of Devotion is the second installment of The Codebreakers by Roseanna White.
When people are confronted with seemingly impossible and humiliating circumstances, they handle things differently. Ms. White crafts a wonderful story around her characters’ reactions to the painful realities that have been handed to them. Not only has war complicated things in England but sometimes life gets in the way. The story is complex but superbly executed, rich in detail. A completely satisfying tale

On Wings of Devotion is the second book in The Codebreakers series by Roseanna M. White. After reading the first book, The Number of Love, last year and really enjoying it, I was anticipating this read quite a bit. It exceeded my expectations!

I loved the characters in this story so much! Arabelle was confident in herself, which I loved, and had such a caring heart for others. She could see the hurt in Black Heart before she even met him…Also, the way she was able to forgive someone for something

I really liked both main characters. Ara surprised me in that she is willing to be so real with her emotions (that was a glorious punch to the nose!), yet the moment she reins in her hurt and temper, she has such grace and forgiveness for those who don't deserve it, and she's forever stepping out in faith with. And through every grouchy, bad-tempered action, Camden is just begging someone to believe in him, even when he doesn't believe in himself. A classic bad boy in need of saving, though he ...more

Once again, Roseanna M. White does not disappoint! On Wings of Devotion, her second Codebreakers novel, delves into the scandal and mystery surrounding Major Phillip Camden, also known as “Black Heart.” Yet, even the blackest of hearts does not lie outside the realm of redemption, and though first introduced in The Number of Love as quite surly and unlikable, his story proves quite endearing and likable after all.

The British public believes Phillip to be a scoundrel and monster. However, as he

This book was excellent! I absolutely loved everything about it! The intriguing plot draws the reader into the story and the characters are so very real, and flawed and perfect! Cam is going on my favorite hero’s list! His brash nature and natural humor have this magical balance that completely works! I loved Ara’s strength and up front approach to situations. She had a unique way of being practical, but also caring. Her faith really manifested itself in her actions, but also her words. Cam and ...more

Oh. My. Camden!!!

Y'allOn Wings of Devotionis even more swoony thanThe Number of Love.Camden is moody, antagonistic, and so full of angst because of the haunting of his past. He carries such hurt and covers it with smirks (which I could totally imagine being smoldering) and humor. And Arabelle can't help but fall in love.

Arabelle was Camden's perfect hero. Full of goodness and light all stemming from her devotion of God. But what I liked more than anything, is that she prayed for Camden before

My Review of On Wings of Devotion by Roseanna M. White
Everytime I hear that another Roseanna M White book is coming out I dream about reading. You see, her books are so marvelous, they tug you into the story and leave impression every time, no matter if it is a lesson in the plot, a character, or anything else, White has a way of showing you a world somewhat lost in history. On Wings of Devotion is no exception, as a matter of fact it is her best yet, though I say that every book of hers I read.

This story is amazing!!! I had a feeling when Phillip Camden was introduced in The Number of Love, he might end up being a favorite! Roseanna White did not disappoint! I absolutely loved his character and Ara is his perfect match! My favorite thing about her is how she lives her faith. She doesn’t just say the right things, she does them!

I loved the intrigue and the plot of this story and the way it all came together in the end! I also loved the cameos from previous characters, especially the

This story grabbed and held me from page one to the end, I loved getting lost in England during the first World War.
This is the second book in this series of Code Breakers, and this one can be read alone, but what a job to do, I think I would love solving these necessary puzzles.
This book does take on more than code breaking, and my heart was in my throat wondering what was going to happen, especially after the arrest.
The author gives us colorful people as spies, but we don’t want them to

This is the second book in The Codebreakers series and I’ve been anxiously awaiting it! As soon as I learned Major Phillip “Black Heart” Camden was to have the starring role, I just couldn’t resist! I met him in the first book, The Number of Love, and was curious to see where the author would take this sourpuss of a character. And I can happily say that this book will definitely be going on my favorites shelf, as soon as I make space for it!

As always, I loved Ms. White’s writing! I’ve yet to

I'm a sucker for anything Roseanna M. White's been writing lately. Whenever I finally get whatever book she's just crafted, I can often be found picking it up at random moments, flipping through it, and lovingly giving the cover several pats. She's basically the author at the top of my watchlist when it comes to cover reveals, giveaways, book news, and so forth. I can't help it- her stuff is just so good.
I love how she destroys the typical book-plot stereotypes that get on my nerves, and turns

Oh this book, be still my heart! Words simply cannot express the depth of my adoration for this story!
To be honest I didn't like Phillip Camden very much in The Number of Love, he struck me as an arrogant jerk, even though there were hints that he had quite a lot of baggage, however I felt the exact same way about Willa in A Name Unknown and actually wasn't planning to read A Song Unheard because I disliked her so much but I was persuaded to give her story a try and it became one of my all time

This book is so good! I absolutely loved both Phillip and Arabelle, and the way that he became her protector ... *swoon*

Really, I loved everything about this book: from the friendship and then romance between Phillip and Ara to the mystery surrounding the Mata Hari-esque character Diellza to the glimpses of previous (and future) main characters from White's other novels to the themes of grace, forgiveness, and belonging. It was all so good!

Also, I knew that, somehow, Phillip would be

Ok, wow. This book was seriously amazing!

I loved the main characters from the start - the refreshing way they were so unapologetically honest with each other, their wit, their hearts and the way they both passionately stood for what they believed in. But what had me totally captivated was the journey they took. The depth of the themes explored through their stories. Wow. There were a few moments in particular where I had to stop and give my heart a chance to catch up.

White is a master at weaving actual historical events into fiction. This book was engaging, romantic, and had just the right amount of mystery.

I loved Camden so much. He was such a great hero in so many ways. I loved the amout of growth he experienced in this book. He was a wonderful brother and co-worker.

Ara was wonderful. I loved her after the first window scene. She is strong and skilled and truly not afraid of anything. I loved her bedside manner with the soldiers and I especially loved her

Roseanna White checks all the boxes:
Solid theology and soteriology
beautifully done romance
imperfect characters (but not the tropes of distrust and manipulation that I get so tired of)
satisfying ending

#1 This is a long review, so pull up a chair and grab a bowl of popcorn. You'll be here awhile. #2 When I read a review, I want substantial information. So I will not skimp on the details. Which will mean some spoilers, so watch out.

Wow. I am not in the right condition to be writing a review right now--especially this one. I got little sleep last night, consumed by this book. I'll try to make sense, be legible, convey what I want conveyed...but I doubt I can. I'm still in my "Camden"
