Oh my lanta....this book was intense. I loved it so much. I love Mrs. Eason’s writing. She is the queen of Christian suspense.

I loved that this book was centered around two recent Army veterans. I loved that aspect of this book. It was amazing.

Brooke was a relatable, lovable, and compassionate psychologist that I loved seeing grow throughout this book. Her character development was beautiful and I really enjoyed reading her story.

Asher was also amazing. I loved how real he was and how perfect he

There is so much to love about this suspense novel. Multiple storylines come together to reveal a complex plot that has a devastating impact. A team of highly trained professionals, from detectives and medical examiners and investigative journalists, to military men and women and psychiatrist, work together to uncover the threads of this international case. With two main characters that have a great chemistry as well as a heartbreaking connection via shared trauma, this romantic suspense novel ...more

One of my very favorite suspense authors, Lynette Eason has started an incredible new series: Danger Never Sleeps.
The content of Collateral Damage is quite current and full of excitement, intrigue and heroes to be envied. The series tells about a team of friends and acquaintances who are brought together by various crimes. This book focuses on former Army members Asher James, now an FBI agent and Brooke Adams, now a psychiatrist in private practice. The book starts out with a scene of how they
Collateral Damage is the first book in a new romantic suspense series, Danger Never Sleeps, and I can tell you I am already totally hooked. Although there were many characters introduced at the start of this story, the story itself truly focuses on Brooke and Asher. The other characters have a part to play in the overall story though and I was glad to get to know them. I am also hoping to see them in the next book in the series.

I will say that Collateral Damage is a very intense read, with part

Lynette Eason's newest series, Danger Never Sleeps, starts out with a bang! I devoured Collateral Damage in less than 24 hours.

To my knowledge, Eason hasn't touched upon military themes for a suspense book before. (Possibly in a Love Inspired story, although if so, it was a military hero, not an actual military-based story.) But I was very excited to see that the military was a heavy theme in this story! Some of my favorite suspense books are military suspense. (Ronie Kendig anyone?) The first

Adventure, danger and a dash of romance make for one exciting new novel by Lynette Eason. Collateral Damage kept me guessing and turning pages quickly throughout this story.

Collateral Damage starts out with a bang literally as several characters are either hit by a bomb or were there when the bombing took place. Eason reveals more about the bombing and a corrupt system through the plot in layers like an onion. . .I got just enough to keep me turning pages before she revealed a little more
Debut book in Lynette Eason's newest series, Danger Never Sleeps; and it definitely started the series off with explosions literally. Beginning in Afghanistan during the US-Afghan war Sgt Asher James finds his group in the middle of an IED followed by an explosion in a nearby cafe where he saves Military Psychiatrist Captain Brooke Adams. The action continues from there and peaks higher and higher until a final solution to all the things occurring in an Afghan Orphanage that connects to base ...more

Like all of Eason’s books this one definitely got started with a bang and I felt like I was there with the characters in the war zone. Unfortunately things got a little chaotic for a bit as there were a lot of characters and different plots that initially didn’t seem to jive. But like the skilled author she is Eason managed to bring it all together in ways that were surprising me up until the end! And after the initial confusion of the first 100 pages or so I got totally hooked into the story ...more

Lynette Eason does it again and I'm so glad she did! The quick-paced plot sweeps readers from the dangerous and unpredictable setting of Afghanistan to what should be the peaceful, civilian world where a former military psychiatrist and Army Special Ops soldier can rest...

The action begins in the first chapter and doesn't quit until the final page making this book a quick read but a very satisfying one. The intricate plot weaves high-octane suspense around the delicate issues of PTSD

"Collateral Damage" is a Christian romantic suspense. Both Brooke and Asher were dealing with PTSD as well as unsupportive families. The suspense came from repeated, violent attempts to get something from Brooke. They needed to figure out what was going on, why she was a target, and who was behind the attacks. The main characters were kind people who reacted realistically to events. Brooke and Asher supported each other, built each other up, and made a good team. There were other characters ...more

This book starts out with a bang and kept me up late flipping the pages to find out what happened next. I really liked this book and I am excited about the next one! Typically military type books aren't my go to but every once in a while an author pulls me into this setting. I loved the characters, they were well written and I hope we get to read more of them. I like how the book kept you guessing without being over the top and unrealistic. I appreciated how PTSD is explained a bit and even the

Lynette Eason kicks off a new series with Collateral Damage and she does indeed kick it off well! I am looking forward to what the next book brings already.

Brooke Adams, former military psychiatrist has come stateside and set up an office hoping to help others. But she is fighting some pretty serious battles herself, even though she is no longer military. Brooke struggles with occasional PTSD and has made a rule to never treat a veteran. Then she walks in on a dead body in her office one morning

Do you ever find yourself "shouting" at the characters throughout the book? I did so many times and I gasped out loud in certain places too! My husband asked me several times if I was ok and I said yes!! Of course, he just shook his head.
I also want to discuss the cover of the book which is definitely eye catching!! I said to myself I wonder why Brooke is looking over her shoulder with a fearful look? Well, after reading this wonderful book I now know why!! This book is just awesome!!

"They were just collateral damage in a stupid war . . . "

Following a traumatic incident in Kabul, Afghanistan, military psychiatrist Brooke Adams and Army Special Ops Sergeant First Class Asher James both return to civilian life. Unfortunately, they left behind more questions than answers, for the one person who could have answered most of them didn't survive a brazen act of terrorism. Brooke came home with a keepsake bracelet for a grief-stricken wife and Asher came home to sleepless
Oh my goodness! This is a hard book to put down. Action packed and tense with suspense. And a wee bit of romance. It starts off in Kabul, Afghanistan where things fall apart for several Army soldiers and send them home to South Carolina. Brooke Adams, an Army psychiatrist is injured in a bomb in a restaurant while trying to help a patient. After leaving a hospital in Germany, she further rehabs in a burn unit in Atlanta and ends up in Greenville, South Carolina where her friend and former Army ...more

A favorite action, suspense author, Lynette Eason again uses her skills to craft an exciting, mind boggling story that keeps the reader's adrenaline flowing while turning exciting page after page.

The reality of PTSD of those who protect and defend our nation by serving in the military is central to the plot as these issues are experienced by those who return from battle and how they manage to cope or get help.

But a scope of deceit, dishonesty corruption is the underlying current that drives this

COLLATERAL DAMAGE is the newest release by Lynette Eason and at first I thought it wasn't for me since it started on the battlefield, and then I thought it was rather disjointed, hopping from two different muslim countries to shallow graves in SC to a psychiatrists office... how did they all relate? But I couldn't see the big picture. I just had to trust.

Soon the story began to make sense and I grew to care for the characters and wanted them to find peace. And justice. I did guess who the "bad

As always, Eason did it again! She is the author and queen of writing amazing Christian suspense that leaves me on the edge of my seat.
The premise of this book is around two Army veterans and disabilities that are faced in military life, like PTSD. You will really like Asher or I did. Brooke was a great too, her character was love-able, compassionate and she grew, as the story grew.
The plots, twists and villain was perfect! This was a book that I read less than 24 hours. It was incredible

If you’re looking for a quick and easy read that keeps you on your toes, has a hint of romance, and features young singles in law enforcement, you’ll probably enjoy this title.

While the story line was fairly predictable - boy meets girl, girl is in trouble, boy saves girl, they fall in love in the meantime - there were plenty of plot twists to keep me turning the pages, eager to find out what happens next.

I did feel that the transitions could have been better. Some weren’t as smooth as they
"Collateral Damage" by Lynette Eason is the first book in her new "Danger Never Sleeps" series, and I have to say that I am thrilled to have discovered it. The action rarely stops, and when it does, the reader needs the break almost as much as the characters!

This is a Christian Romantic Suspense title, and it lives up to the genre in all three senses of the phrase. The two main characters are Christians, as evidenced by the way they often say a quick silent prayer when they find themselves in
Collateral Damage by Lynette Eason is the first in the Danger Never Sleeps series. My interest was captured from the very first chapter. Brooke Adams and Asher James are complex characters. Brooke is a woman who got burned out while helping military personnel and then harmed in the explosion. She held a man’s hand while he died and has a last item to give his wife along with a message. Brooke is suffering from PTSD and is dealing with it the best way she knows how. Asher James has been ...more

I loved this book! First let's talk about the title and cover... Collateral Damage is such a cool title. I've always loved the word collateral because it sounds so cool and I love that it's part of a title of one of Eason's books. xD And the different colors and design of the cover is stunning! This is the first time I've gotten a spiral-bound 8" by 11" ARC and it was lovely reading it.

I finished this book in less than three hours and read it in one sitting. It's been rare recently for me to

Brooke Adams is a former military psychiatrist , who barely escaped an explosion with her life. She is setting into civilian life, when her past comes back to haunt her and a killer on her trail.

Asher James has worked his way up in the military into the special forces through old fashioned hard work, doing dangerous things that few could imagine, but he's been having trouble sleeping at night. So he goes to Brooke, because he remembers her from a mission in Afghanistan.

Together can they help

Collateral Damage

By Lynette Eason

This was a truly fantastic read! It grabbed me in the first few chapters and just would not let me go!

Brooke and Asher are authentic and enjoyable characters. Lynette does a good job of
touching on the subject of PTSD and how it can impact everyone, not just the individual experiencing it.

The book is non-stop action, suspense, and intrigue, with a hint of romance woven throughout. I had planned on reading the book over the course of a couple nights, but found

Asher James has just gotten out of the service and is having some serious nightmare problems. Brooke Adams was a military psychiatrist when Asher was in the service and he hopes to enlist her help now that he is home and she is in a private practice. Brooke is having some serious nightmares of her time in Afghanistan as well, but when Asher comes to her office and finds a dead woman his military training kicks in and he manages to escape the killer who is still in the office. If you’re a Lynette Eason fan (and if you’re not, this series debut is sure to make you one), strap in for a thrill ride that’s high-octane, super speedy, and extremely relevant.

Brooke and Asher both have strong personalities, but they balance each other well because they are also able to understand each other’s struggles. While Asher cares about Brooke and wants to protect her, he also respects and listens to her.

The suspense in this book is intense and kept me guessing until the exact moment

If I could give this book 11 stars out of 10, I would. While I found it a little hard to get started - I'm not sure why, because it was fast-paced from the start, so I'll say it was a fluke - after the first 66 pages, I sat down and had to read the entire thing in one day. I couldn't stand to set it down because I had to know what was going to happen next. I loved the characters and found myself absolutely invested in them pretty quickly. Her writing style, as always, is very realistic, and does ...more

This book quickly became a riveting read, and hard to put down, but will also lingering with you. At first, I was asking myself how what seems to be two different stories, what relates them?
When the answers begin to unfold it will make you sick, how much evil and greed there is and any anyone is expendable!
The author gives us a several women with a lot of compassion, and with what they have been through, you marvel at how they are there for their fellow man.

Collateral Damage is a breathtaking suspense story that played in my mind like a movie! There is great action, and the main characters are easy to connect with. I love how realistic this story feels, and that it deals with PTSD in such a careful and authentic way. And I really enjoyed the slow-burned romance--rather than an insta-love kind of story.

This is one of those keep-you-up-all-nighters, with fantastic connections, (friendly and romantic) believable 'bad guys,' and a wonderful thread of
