4.5 Stars - Very Good Christian Historical Romance

I enjoyed the family dynamics, farm antics, and slow-burn romance.

Oh, the secrets people keep and just what hiding them can do. In Forever Hidden, we are introduced to the three Powell sisters along with their love of music and their headstrong, red-headed personalities as they find themselves dealing with circumstances they never expected.

I think my favorite part of this novel was the cast of characters. Even though this was really Havyn's story, I appreciated getting to know each of the other members of her family and how they'd all been shaped into the

I really liked this book. I had to get used to the slower pace, but I think it was perfect for this story. I really enjoyed meeting the Powell sisters and their family. I loved their loyalty and love for each other. I also liked that they were so musically talented. I really liked John’s character. I’m really looking forward to reading this whole series!

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Forever Hidden is a sweet yet heart wrenching story of three girls who are sisters. Three incredibly talented and opinionated girls. The characters are definitely what draw the reader in to the pages. They are incredibly well developed, and they each have their own wonderful personalities with flaws to which readers can relate.

The setting of a dairy farm is well done. We have goats that we milk and use that milk to make cheese so I really enjoyed that part of the story. We use to have seventy

I loved this book so much!! These two ladies are just absolutely the best!! I try not to miss any of their books!!
You know, you just gotta love redheads especially if they are as talented as Haven, Madysen and Whitney! I certainly can relate to these awesome ladies real well!
I love the different spelling of Madysen's name. These ladies are loving, close, stubborn and happy as long as they have each other. I'm so jealous! I've always wanted a sibling. I do but I wasn't raised with them.

Close your eyes and you will be transported to Nome, Alaska and it will be 1904. This book paints a picture of farming near a mining town and the hardships and good times of a close knit family. Music is the key that opens the door to their hearts and hidden secrets is what keeps the same doors closed. I love the characters of three red headed sisters each having a unique personality and their family dynamics with a loving, protective grandfather and their mother. The strength they have in dire ...more

Fans of Tracie Peterson will enjoy Forever Hidden, because of her experience writing rich novels set in Alaska. Collaborating with Kimberley Woodhouse for this new Treasures of Nome series enriches the story with her musical background. The book is filled with the three Powell sisters who are woven together as a musical tapestry that plays an integral role in the family's survival when their grandfather has a stroke.

Moving to Alaska after the death of their father meant something different to

This is my first ARC. Thank you BHP to fill this bookless space as I waited for another BH release! I love Tracie Peterson! I tried her in the Land of the Shining Water series as a Prime Reading and have read several since then so u was happy to see she had something new and requested! I have gotten to know Kimberly Woodhouse in Daughters of the Mayflower, which was the next installment was one that I was awaiting, and I feel like I have a new friend! Nice slow moving story, Havyn and John meet when John comes to deliver a package to Havyn's grandfather, from John's grandfather. He becomes foreman of the family farm upsetting Havyn's sister Whitney. As time goes on, he becomes a very important part of the family, an indispensable member. Throughout the story Havyn and John become closer and closer, as their friendship grows. An all around lovely story to enjoy!

An interesting story during the Alaskan Gold Rush

My rating is 4.5 stars

I'm of the opinion that one of the signs of a great historical fiction novel is that it makes me want to search out something I've read to learn more about it. In Forever Hidden, there were several such treasures.

The Powell sisters were so delightful in their enthusiasm for music and their love for their mother and grandfather. Each was so different and yet they had a strong bond.

John was my favorite character. All alone in

Rugged Alaska in the early 1900s was not for the faint of heart. In Forever Hidden, we meet three sisters, along with their mother and grandfather, who live on a successful dairy farm in a booming mining town. Each girl shares the passion of music they inherited from their mother but in a different way.

Although their dairy farm is successful doesn’t mean that they don’t have their share of problems. Each character is plagued with holding onto secrets from the past that only gets more

Forever Hidden by Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse is the first novel in The Treasures of Nome series. Forever Hidden is a well-written novel that is rich with history and developed characters. I thought the authors captured the time period and the locale. The descriptions of Nome were beautiful (made me want to visit). The three Powell sisters are so talented. Whitney, Havyn, and Madysen each play an instrument. The three women have varying personalities. Whitney, the eldest, is strong ...more

Much needed message

A unique novel with a great message, I'll definitely be recommending this book. This book is a historical fiction that has quite a few different plots and some interesting twists. The story starts off over ten years before it takes place with the first chapter being a revealing part of life. Because of this, and for other reasons, the POV switches back and forth between quite a few characters. It's a bit difficult to name a main character, but we'll go with the two love

Chickens, cows, and beautiful music—what a strange combination to pique a reader’s interest! Mingling the ambiance of The Sound of Music with the knowledge of The Chicken Whisperer, the authors unfold a tale of three twenty-something red-headed, musically talented sisters living in the wilds of Nome, Alaska during the Gold Rush years. Three unique sisters each find joy in their own special place: Whitney the eldest at 25, keeper of the sled dogs and master pianist; Havyn the middle child at 23, ...more

This author duo has struck a chord with my reader brain. I love the detailed settings they include and the journeys they always require of their characters. Havyn and her sisters, life has never been truly easy. They have a loving mother and grandfather, but after losing their father, they’re somewhat bereft.
I’ve noticed myself picking up a lot of books where the characters are required to forgive, and this one was no different. There’s a level of agony in the decision to let go of your anger

I truly enjoyed reading this historical fiction book, taking place in Alaska, by Peterson and Woodhouse! This was the first book in a new series, and it left a perfect ending where I will absolutely be seeking future books.

The characters were beautifully developed. One of the main villains is not known as a villain, and demonstrates how things are not always as they seem. There were even a couple of well planned plot twists! I love when I can't guess ahead of time everything that is about to

Forever Hidden is an excellent start to a new series by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse. I found the Heart of Alaska series to be very light, but this series is deeply emotional and full of trials. The story is constantly moving and so engaging that the pages just fell away as I read. Whole sections of the book would pass by without me even remembering turning a page. The three sisters have such vibrant and different personalities. John is a strong character in his own right along with ...more

It is very commendable when someone is sworn to secrecy and they keep that secret. Sometimes keeping a secret brings much hurt and even sometimes harm. Peterson and Woodhouse have teamed up and written an interesting book based on keeping secrets and hiding things...... It starts in Colorado in 1891 where Melissa Powell and her three daughters live. Tragedy strikes, her husband dies and they move with Melissa's dad to Nome, Alaska, where the family now run a dairy and poultry farm. Each of the ...more

Forever Hidden introduces us to the Powell sisters whose story we can continue to follow in The Treasures of Nome series. Set in the early 1900s, readers get to see the treatment of the day of pulmonary disease and stroke, complicated by living in the Alaska Territory. The main characters in this novel are models of faith and strength, but also demonstrate the struggles with forgiveness and following one's own agenda that even stalwart Christians face. This novel also addresses the wisdom of ...more

My Reflections:
You know the book is going to be fantastic with these two authors. Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse never fail to entertain me with their well researched and heartwarming tales.

Set in 1904 you will be transported to Nome, Alaska. Hardships are commonplace, as well as the hardworking close-knit families.
I adore books about redheads since I have a beautiful friend who happens to be a redhead as well as a daughter who has auburn hair, so I am always interested in how the
