Becoming Whole is a beautifully written memoir of a woman's journey with schizophrenia. The author tells the story of her journey in a way that is relatable and well written in its honesty. Schizophrenia is a subject that still to this day is shrouded in shame and mystery. The author talked about Joe, the other within her, with love and compassion. This was an excellent memoir about a very important subject. Schizophrenia is such a difficult illness to understand and I really appreciated the honesty and clarity of Tsai's writing as she explained all she has been through. I think this is an important memoir, particularly for people with schizophrenia and their friends and family to help people understand what they are coping with. I really appaud Tsai for being brave with her story!

A wonderful memoir for anyone who wants to understand the schizophrenic brain and its affect on someone you love. Follow this brave woman on her journey of self-help, support, and therapy. I highly recommend this book.

This book does an amazing job at getting into the mind of a schizophrenic and how Mindy continues to be a completely functioning, successful woman in tech, and now a published author even through her affliction. This book is going to help a lot of people who suffer from this condition as well as their family members understand how better to support their loved ones. I loved seeing how Mindy's brain interpreted the signals and she incorporated hallucinations into her life narrative, all while sti ...more
