DEADLY SECRET is Book 1 in the O'Halleran Security International Series (OSI).
Watch for DEADLY DISCIPLE and DEADLY DECEPTION, Books 2 and 3 in TJ Logan's O'Halleran Security International series
All the books in the OSI Series are stand-alones with their own HEA.
TJ Logan is an award-winning author of romantic suspense anchored by strong themes of family, honor, and loyalty. Her writing journey began in 2012, when a bunch of strange voices popped into her head.
Hoping to exorcise the craziness, she started typing, which simply ushered in more—as if she’d cracked open some sort of portal for fictional characters to charge through. And boy did they ever!
She grew up in a military family, lived all over the country, and was surrounded by five brothers … and, shockingly, lived to tell about it. She was also a key member of a team that managed a secret program for one of the world’s top defense companies. All of these things have given TJ an interesting perspective on life. And every bit of it goes into her writing!
Family, Honor, and Loyalty aren’t just words in a tagline to TJ. They are everything.
The plot was well built and the pace was exciting. I love romantic suspense and this book was spot-on on both aspects. After facing tragedy in his line of work and finding no justice due to corrupt people, Beck's had enough and decided to go on his own journey to make things right. Even if he has to deceive an innocent woman in the process.
But what was supposed to be only a means to an end turns out to be exactly what they both needed, even if they didn't know about it.
Beck and Gwen were so good to each other. They brought out the best in each other and they filled each other's lives with purpose and strength. Beck was protective by nature and worrying about everyone was inevitable for him, but unbeknownst to her, Gwen taught him how to love and understand that it's okay to be vulnerable. On the other hand, Beck showed Gwen that there's more than darkness and evil in the world and it was healthy to trust someone.
Together, they learned how to truly love, and it was so sweet to watch them get there.
I'm really excited to read the next books in the series.
This book is ok. It’s one I won’t read again but I’m glad I read this one to get a feel from the start of this series. I’m glad I got it on KU so it didn’t cost me anything. It’s your standard RS though I found the insta love with a bit of the mystical surrounding the “feeling “ buzzing around before they met a bit overboard. I don’t really have a whole lot more to say about this book.
Make room on my auto-buy list for another author because I am all in for TJ Logan's super-sexy, family-loving, crime-fighting O'Hallerans! Logan gave me everything I enjoy in this fast-paced debut: action, danger, suspense, passion, fully-developed characters, a hard-won HEA, and enough intriguing family members for future stories to eagerly anticipate.
Beck and Gwen are both characters who engaged my interest and my emotions. Logan does a good job of bringing them to life as well as balancing the evolution of their personal relationship with the intrigue and danger surrounding them. The danger is hard-hitting and readers should be prepared for some gritty, on-the-page violence during this battle to bring a cold-blooded psychopath to justice. I was on the edge of my seat much of the time, flipping pages as fast as I could to find out what would happen next.
If you enjoy page-turners that keep you riveted to the action - and the romance - give Deadly Secret a try. I'm looking forward to more from this newly published author and thrilled that readers have less than a month to wait for book two in the series. I've already pre-ordered Deadly Disciple (19 Sept. 2019) and Deadly Deception (16 Oct. 2019).

This is a very good book. Russian mob, FBI agent and unsuspecting woman make this an intriguing and full of twists. Beck is following a big mob boss for a death of a female agent only to meet Gwen who is in the sights of this horrible person. I can't wait to read what happens to his brother Caleb.

After losing a member of his team to a brutal Russian mobster, Beckett O'Halleran is determined to do anything necessary to bring the animal down. Even forsaking his career with the FBI and pretending to be a contractor to approach a woman with a yet-unknown connection to the man he's hunting. But as he gets closer to Gwendolyn Tamberley, the feelings he develops for her start overshadowing his personal vendetta.
Wow, gambles sometimes pay off. A new-to-me-author and her very first book might not be a good combo, but in this case, it's jackpot.
This was a perfect mix of romance and suspense. Though it had its calm-before-the-storm moments, there wasn't a dull or plodding passage. The story flowed nicely, the shifts between the scenes and "themes" were fluid and seamless, the narration painted pictures with words until it was like watching a movie and the action scenes riveting and gripping.
The characters, though the pool was rather small, were wonderful and multi-layered. The heroine, Gwendolyn, was a lovely, rather balanced combo of damsel and spunk (or Tasmanian devil, if you like), diminutive and dainty, but with a core of steel, resolved and determined when time called for it. I'm also glad she wasn't prone to holding grudges once she got the whole picture. It made the main romantic conflict brief and to the point without diminishing its intensity or making me dislike her. The hero, Beck, was your typical RS hero. Alpha, but with a heart of gold, heaping guilt onto his shoulders even when it didn't really belong there. Sure, he made some questionable decisions (not telling Gwen the truth earlier, for example), but his heart was in the right place. He was protective, adored his family, and completely lost his bearing when he met Gwen. What more can one want? Granted, some of the stuff he thought of her was a bit flowery and sugary (he'd know in his heart if she died *cringe*), but it somehow worked in juxtaposition to his otherwise tough image. Then there was his brother, Caleb, seemingly his brother's complete opposite—laid back ladies’ man with a sense of humor and without a care in the world, but when it came down to the wire, he was just as intense and protective, willing to do anything to help. I can't wait to read his story.
And then there was the villain, the centerpiece of the story, if you will. A stereotypical Russian mobster (at least in fiction and movies); ruthless, brutal, capable of anything. The little torch he's been carrying for twenty-five years might've made him sympathetic if it wasn't for all that he's done and planned to do. The connection between him and Gwen was rather transparent, yet the reveal of it still packed a punch. And the final showdown, with the knowledge of what they were to each other, was made even more chilling, creepier and scarier for it.
The story pulled me in from the start. The characters were wonderful, the suspense riveting, the romance sweet and well-paced and the action gripping and intense. Loved it.
Beckett and Gwen. Not the best start to a romance since she doesn’t know why he is there, but a beautiful relationship still builds from it. A classic romantic suspense where there is danger and the hero of the story is trying to protect while also solve the problem. Gwen is a feisty lead, but also a character who doesn’t know any or all of the secrets from her past and that Beck brings s to the table. A great first book of the series in terms of introducing the family and characters. I do wish more was done to build how him quitting and having a connection builds the OSI. The siblings and parents sound wonderful and I can’t wait for more of this family and stories for this world
This is the first book I read from this author and let me tell you that I loved it! Such a good book with great characters that keeps you obsessed with every page since the first one. The ending of this book.. come on! I just didn´t expect it! Can´t wait to read other books from this great writer! Amazing job! a must-read! A fantastic book that has it all! I happily endorse this story to any and all who are looking for a romance enjoyable read and a completely different experience than anyone could imagine on their own. ¡Great book!
This was a fabulous debut novel for this newbie author and a great start to the O'Halleran International Security Series-one I shall continue to follow! The characters are strongly written and I love the level of toughness in the LEO Beckett. The tagline of "Family, Honor and Security" runs consistently throughout the book. I love that Beck's brains are as brawny as his physique, and that he doesn't compromise his values, telling his workplace to basically stuff their rules when they result in irreplaceable losses. There were a couple surprising plot twists that kept me very engaged. Overall, the book was a page-turner. I'm glad TJ created a large O'Halleran clan because they are charming, funny, smart and very dedicated. I want to read ALL their stories.
I loved this storyline it was entertaining and well worth the reading time. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages.
I received a copy and am voluntary leaving my honest review.
This read is for you if you are craving suspense, romance, and action. Brace yourself and grab your Kevlar vest as you will endure one onslaught after another. The cataclysmic impact of this story will keep you turning pages.
Beck is relentless and determined to see justice served. Gwen is on a mission. Expect to fall in love with Gwen and Beck and be outraged and revolted by Radoslav’s fixation of women.
T J Logan is no holds bar in this seemingly innocent story.
What a story! This is my second one by this author and I'm hooked! The characters jump off the page and I felt their emotions.
Story has violence, attempted rape, amazing main and secondary characters, twists, emotional, great banter, many nasty villains, and suspenseful. Lord's name used in vain and crude words a few times.
Lovemaking outside of marriage, filled with passion and love - heat level 4 out of 5. This couple just clicked and I loved them together.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romantic, and steam. I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase, which I recommend. (ljb)
TJ Logan has created a wonderful world of heroic men, creepy villains and one small woman who just wants to honor her mother's memory. But every one around her is hiding secrets. The kind of secrets that can get her dead. Watch it all unfold as you hold your breath to the very end.
This is a new author to me. The story is a romantic suspense with danger, intrigue, secrets, revenge, and lots of action. Beck's family is great and I love Gwen's strength. I look forward to the next book.
This book was most definitely a page turner. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop. It will keep you glued til the end. Great set of characters. Can’t wait to keep reading
Great story line with a happy ending. I love these big family stories where each person has a book about them and their finding the best happy ever after they can get. Can't wait to read more.
I really enjoyed this book. Both characters were likeable, and I like that Gwen wasn't just a damsel in distress. Both characters were stubborn at times, but worked well together. I enjoyed the book and want to read more from this author.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
When FBI special agent, Beckett O'Halloran, handed in his hard earned and much loved badge it was the hardest thing that he had ever had to do, he didn't want any part of an organization that let an evil killer walk free yet again, this time he was walking after raping and brutally killing one of his team, agent Jodi Andrews who was working undercover.
Head of a depraved Russian organization, Nicolai Radaslaw was laughing at the FBI, he had someone at the top in his pocket.......Beck would get him without the restrictions of the FBI.
When Beck came across beautiful, gentle Gwen Tamberley and realised that Nicolai had her in his sights he offered his services, he would help with odd jobs and decorating at the community shelter that she was determined to open, Beck didn't like the fact that it was in a very salubrious area.
This story follows Beck's pursuit of Nicolai and the blossoming romance between Gwen and Beck, it is action packed and suspense filled, it covers murder, rape, human trafficking and police corruption.
This is the first book that I have read by T.J.Logan but as there are four more equally hunky brothers in the O'Halloran family plus one sassy sister I don't think that it will be the last.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary
This was a new author for me. I will read the next book in series. Took me less than two days to read, kept me interested. I only wish the bad guys suffered more, ok, alot more! Lol
Deadly Secret by T.J. Logan This romantic suspense story will keep you up late reading. The connection between Gwen and Beck is almost immediate. The first time Beck laid eyes on Gwen, he knew she was going to be special. Both are carrying grief from their past. Both need to get past it so it doesn’t cloud their ability to focus on the present. The characters are well developed. The book is easy to read. It is part of a series. I look forward to the next one. This was my first book by T.J. Logan, but definitely not my last.
Beckett is a former FBI agent that is fed up with red tape, corruption and criminals getting off free. He resigns his position and begins watching the man who is responsible foe torturing and killing his partner. Gwen is a social worker who has been sheltered by an over protective paranoid mother. When her mother dies, Gwen decided to open up a community center in her low income neighborhood. Expecting a donation to the center, Gwen meets with a man high up in the Russian mafia. Unbeknownst to her, she is sent to be sold to the Russian for his human trafficking ring. This happens to be the same man that Beckett has been watching. Once Beckett, learns of the Russians intentions, he makes it his business to stay close to Gwen to learn more and protect her.
Great action packed book! Logan creates a story that has plot twists and turns with well developed characters. Her characters are likable and have depth. I love Beckett's conviction to do what is right and not bend to the corrupt bureaucracy. I also really like the fact that although Gwen has been sheltered, she is still street smart and very intelligent. Beckett and his brother's, who also in some sort of law enforcement, are very close and help one another with whatever is needed. Especially when it comes to keeping their loved ones safe.

Deadly Secret is the first book in the O'Halleran Security International series. This is the first book I have read by TJ Logan and I now want to make sure I read all of the books. This is a real page-turner that enthralls you from the first page and keeps you riveted until the end, sitting on the edge of your seat the entire time. The characters are well developed and relatable and the storyline is fabulous, full of action, violence, suspense, danger, and some romance and passion. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read the next in this series.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book with no obligation.
This is my first read from this author and I enjoyed very much. I loved Beck and Gwen. They were perfect for each other. I can’t wait to read Caleb’s book.
