I am absolutely enthralled with this series! The books just get better and better! I just love how the author is writing the series!! Intriguing characters! Who in the world is the killer?! I need the next book!!
The Zodiac Killer A little bit “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and a little bit “Se7en”. It’s creepy and it’s twisted, and I don’t have a blessed clue what’s going on here. I love it! The story took me a couple of chapters to get into it at first. And there’s a lot of moving parts, so it’s not always clear how everything relates. But, as the connections start to fit together, it becomes compelling. This book could easily have been an episode of Criminal Minds, except the villain is still at large. I can’t wait to see what comes next. Capricorn The coils of evil tighten more firmly around Darek as more of the past comes back to haunt him. The body count gets higher and the suspicions spread farther. People I thought were above reproach, now make me question everything I thought I believed; question their motives. Who’s really behind it all? Who can be trusted? The answers to these and even more questions still elude us as yet one more zodiac sign is lined up in the target sights. Aquarius I want to know it all. Now! I don’t even know how to write a review of this that doesn’t spoil what few answers we’re able to glean or the twists the plot takes once you’re inside. The body count climbs while the list of likely suspects gets smaller. Will Darek have his answers before all the Zodiacs of Camp Victory are gone? Or will the mastermind in the shadows get their revenge first? This didn’t feel like quite a steep a cliff-hanger ending, but I’m still more than ready to get my hands on the next piece of the puzzle. I received a complimentary advanced copy of the books in this collection from the authors.
i read this box set as part of an arc program. This set includes the Zodiac Killer, Capricorn and Aquarius.
The Zodiac Killer- I really enjoyed this book, this was the story of a police detective named Darek Blake who is investigating a murder of a young woman who had a recent tattoo on her back featuring the zodiac wheel and wearing a collar. Darek was partnered with FBI agent Lizzy McNamara and together they were working a number of leads including ones linked to Darek's past. Darek feels the killer is someone he knows and is trying to reveal his secrets. I liked this book, it is a good start to this series and it will keep you guessing who the killer is and how Darek is connected.
Capricorn- This is the second book in this series about a serial killer and the race to catch him. In the first book, the victim had the signs of the zodiac carved in her and the symbols matched symbols a group of young boys got at a summer camp years ago. Now the boys are grown up and Darek, one of the boys is the detective who is investigating the murders. Darek turns to the leader of the childhood group Bay to ask if someone knows their secrets and is trying to expose them. Tad is the boy with the Capricorn brand and all signs are pointing to him being the murderer, but Darek and Bay know he isn't and try to find the real killer while protecting themselves. This is a very good series so far, it is suspenseful and has twists to keep you guessing.
Aquarius- This is the third book in this series about a serial killer who is haunting a group of men who were in a club when they were children. The club had members who each had a different zodiac sign and they had dark secrets which the killer knows. In this book, Logan is being targeted after the suicide of Tad, the Capricorn of the group. Logan is the Aquarius of the group and he made the brands which are burned into each member and turning up on each victim. Darek is the police detective who is walking the fine line of investigating the crimes and trying to protect his fellow group members, which is getting harder for him to do. The more victims that are discovered, the more questions are asked and the more danger the group is in.
I loved this series and was guessing until the end. Each book keeps you hooked adn this is a great start to the series.
I got midway through book 2 in this trilogy and called it a day. There's a LOT of quite unpleasant and offensive stuff in it and steer clear if you can't abide bad language as well ! I found it pretty amazing the same as Darek to learn what some people get up to. CBT for me has always been a component of getting a motorbike licence, but not here.....book 1 ended on a "to be continued" remark and according to another reviewer so does book 3 so I don't mind too much that I never solved the mystery as there are 13 in the series I could see and I really don't need to learn that much more about sadism and domination and all the fetish stuff, thanks. I didn't like Lizzy.....she has a nasty habit of kicking animals I didn't approve of. She refers to Tad in book 2 as though he'd only just appeared on her radar yet she'd met him with Darek in book 1 !! He has some odd spelling mistakes, ones I'd expect him to get correct as there weren't HEAPS of errors. He kept writing gentleman as opposed to gentlemen, then hording and not hoarding and were not where. This sentence suddenly lost a word, ".....the opportunity was going to wonderful" and I gave up upon reading this one, "...this is your big chance to solve thing thing." Almost all these mistakes appeared in the 2nd book so perhaps he used a different editor or something ? I didn't understand this sentence at all and just highlighted it 'Huh ?'....."It made no never mind to him" which I'd understand possibly means it doesn't matter to him but what a horrible way to say that !! I'd have stuck with it into book 3 if the mistakes hadn't been starting to come thick 'n' fast but coupled with the distasteful stuff I'd seen enough.
Great reading loved the way you held me going page after page thanks again Joyce Miller wife of hank Miller
Wish I could get all the rest of your books but I'm not sure if I can.as I have no idea how to get More books like these my founds are not the best as I am on a strict budget money is very tight i am82years young so thanks again Joyce Miller wife of hank Miller sorry
This would be an interesting story if the other had kept the pornographic parts out. I decided to not read the remainder of this 12 book series because of it. I am not a prude however, the other crossed my limit. I wished a version without the porn would be out because it was an interesting tale without it.
I read just few chapters of the first book. The writing is full of foul language and sexual innuendo both of which detract from what may well be a good story but I cannot read more and shall delete this from my library. I'd like to award it no stars
I read the entire series, but I am reviewing here for those just starting. First, if you are going to write about the zodiac, get the signs and dates correct - May 14 is NOT a Gemini, it is a Taurus.
If you do not like books that end with a cliffhanger (incomplete story) then you will not like this series. It is 13 books before there is any conclusion. These are not stand alone stories. While I do not mind swearing or sex in stories (if it is pertinent) this series is heavy on the bdsm!! So much so that just about all of the characters are kinky sex addicts. I found this overshadowed the storyline. I guess the authors were trying to ride on the 50 shades popularity.
None of the characters were likeable in this series. Derick, who is supposed to be such a great detective that he is being considered for the FBI, is the biggest doofus. He is so led by his little head, to the point of complete incompetence. A little sex and he is putty in their hands. I have no idea how any of the characters got anything done with the amount of sex they were all having. That was the main focus in this series. It moved at about the same pace as a soap opera. This story could have been condensed to less than half of the books. This is just another money grabbing bunch of drivel written by sex starved housewives.
FYI, i figured out the killers a couple of books before they were discovered. Also, if you are wondering why I bothered to finish the series - me too! Bored after surgery and too lazy to search through kobo for something else.
If you are into bdsm, like porn with no storyline and characters with no depth, then this is the series for you. Otherwise, keep looking!
Excellent series, sometimes hard to read but always hot Excellent series, sometimes difficult to read, with a serial killer who attacks men who killed when they were teenagers, several years ago, a woman at the request of one of them. They were defined and branded by signs of the Zodiac, so the killer is the zodiac killer. Everyone has created a new life, often with success, but almost everyone regrets what happened, well almost. The characters are excellent, regularly perverted, engulfed in the fact that everyone was marked in the body but also in their minds, the policeman full of remorse but determined to protect his "friends" and found the killer, to the crooked lawyer who manipulates everyone even his wife, the rock star, the religious guru ..... Women are also exceptional because they are venal, profiteer, perverse. The book mixes all genres and sex scenes are pretty hot and multiple. Regularly I was angry against to the author saying "ah no .... not him, he has enough drooled, he can survive" ... and no. The human being is not depicted in his best light, but it is extremely well written and fascinating. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
The first three books in the Zodiac Killers will have you guessing. An awesome series, it’s unpredictable and you will be left guessing who the murderer is until the very end. Although you may think you know, I guarantee you won’t there are so many twists and turns. A long time ago at a youth camp, a group of twelve boys who each belonged to one of the star signs, made a pact. They were all branded with their matching zodiac symbol. They did something all those years ago, but were bound to take it to the grave. Someone knows because these grown men have a target on their back and are being murdered one by one. Watch them all scramble to try and protect their secret. Among the group is Darek Blake a policeman who aspires to join the FBI. Bay Collins known as “the slayer” has never lost a case. He is a real jerk and owns a BDSM club. Darek is newly single and has a new partner, Lizzy who is hell bent on finding the murderer. She’s also opening raw wounds with a cold case they’d rather she left well alone.
This book felt like a crippled love child of “The Da Vinci code” and “Fifty shades of Grey”. Since I finished my previous book and was on vacation with nothing else, I grabbed this peace for free on iBooks. I was hoping it would be at least one sitting guilty pleasure material. Boy, oh boy, I’m glad I didn’t pay for this. I’m guessing BDSM and violence was supposed to shock the readers, instead, it felt very self-serving and forced. So very little investigation and so many empty characters and insignificant details. Usually, I gain some empathy towards at least one of the characters, but this time it was not the case. Even though the annotation said that every book of the series has a cliffhanger, the idea of purchasing the next one of twelve didn’t cross my mind even for a second. I don’t like to be so critical of someone’s work, however, at the end of the day “Zodiac killer” felt like something that could impress only bored housewives with poor imagination.
These damn cliff hangers... so this is the first three books in the Zodiac Killer series. And every time you finished one, it left you on the largest cliff hanger of life !! So bad that you literally had to continue reading.
There are some parts that are total “no brainer”. The wife cheating in the first one. The creepy uncle in the second. And the missing person in the third. But even with those easy to read scenarios, I still don’t know who the killer is. I am going to have to continue reading this series to find out. I just hope there is a little more excitement in the next couple books to keep me interested. A series of twelve books, you definitely need something big to happen once in a while to keep people interested.
What can I say about these books. I have thoroughly enjoyed all three, so much so , I have continued with the whole series, and bought the rest of the books. They are very well thought through, and make compelling reading. The story of a holiday camp tragedy, boys in their youth, haunting the men in adulthood, the twists and turns ,and the "who done it". A fascinating read from start to finish, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed , if you like a good thriller. The characters are all intertwined, and working out who could be the killer, is quite compelling, I got one, the other was a complete shock. Give them a go. I'm moving on to another of his series now, can't wait. More sleepless nights........
What a great series. Looking forward to reading the rest of them in this set. These books will pull you along and before you know it, the book is finished and your chores went out the window!! Love it! I am also enjoying the Hangman series by this author. Another great collection of books. Have not read a bad book by this author! In this set of books someone is trying to kill the members of a so called secret club that was formed when they were young teemagers at a summer camp. The twelve men each have a unique design of their zodiac sign branded on their body somewhere. The brands were to be destroyed, if so, why are people dying with a brand on them like the ones the secret club have?
Really great gripping read. I go through stages of wanting to read and not bothering to read. This made me wanting to reach for more. Got the box set as a free kindle offer and now I'm gutted as there are 9 more books but I can't afford to buy them. It's a pretty fast paced book and I haven't got a clue who the murderer can be. There is so actually unnecessary sexual content. Quite detailed and doesn't really fit within the story line. It could have been done with a bit more taste but hey ho. I'm not a prude. Excellent read so far. Wish I had the money for the remaining books 🤷♀️
A truly weirdly based story set up around a group of young boys at a summer camp who formed a bond based on signs of the Zodiac. To make them a binding group their leader pursueds them to have their zodiac sign branded on their shoulder. Unfortunately things get so out of hand and they share the secret concerning the death of a young girl. Nobody lets the secret out ubtil it appears that someone is taking some sort of revenge by starting to kill them off.
The Zodiac killer stories are actually crap. To much violence, to much nonsense, to much sex and in the middle of it is a detective who killed a girl together with his zodiac friends when they were young in a camp and hopes to get away with it. The whole story is so unbelievable and far off! The only reason for me to finish all three was to figure out who is behind the new killings ........may never know, because I will not read number 4
Read books 1 and 2. Might come back to part 3. Not sure if the story merits three parts but I should reserve judgement on that until I read the last part. Well written book and easy to get through. It is hard to have sympathy for any of the characters which makes sticking with the story difficult as it is hard to get to worked up about what happens to any of them. Having said that I still wanted to get to the end of each part/book. Just not sure if it was time well spent
The Zodiac series introduces us to a group of people that ordinarily wouldn't be friends in any way, yet are connected in the grimmest, creepiest way possible.
The series will have you guessing, wondering what who did what, when, where and why. Make sure that you read the books in order - you'll be lost if you do it out of order.
Take the plunge with these first three books and enjoy the ride!
I thought in the beginning it might take a few chapters, but NO! right from the start, this had me going.Trying to figure it, out thought I had there at then , but nope . Now I need to go but the rest of the series. This is one I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys watching those who did it shows on TV. This is a great read.
A series well worth reading. I've read the first 3 and cannot wait to continue. Its gripping, gritty and will keep you guessing. The end will only be revealed jn the last book so it is a must read series. Who is targeting a group of men that committed a crime in their youth?
Fast reading page turner. We'll developed plot and characters. Keeps you in suspense about who is the killer. Interesting police procedural crime fiction.
