Hold on to Hope
Evan Bryant wasn't your typical hero.
But he was mine.
Broken by the worlds’ standards, he was still the strongest boy I would ever know.
My best friend. The boy I’d given everything to. My heart, my body, and the promise of forever.
The day I’d needed him most, he ...more

Oh, the feels! The epic, heartwrenching feels! I’ve been so eagerly awaiting this story, and I absolutely devoured it. Evan and Frankie Leigh’s beautiful second-chance, friends-to-lovers romance captured my heart, and I loved their story so much.
This book is a standalone, but it’s a spin off from the Fight For Me series. Frankie Leigh and Evan were introduced as children in that series (Frankie is the daughter of Rex from Show Me the Way and Evan is the son of Hope from Follow Me Back), both ...more
Hold on to Hope has the perfect ratio of angst, heat, emotion, and a touch of suspense. I absolutely devoured the friends to lovers/second chance vibe, and hung on to every word, and loved every chapter. Author A.L. Jackson has an undeniable talent for injecting so much heart, and tying the reader to the charac ...more
I knew this story wasn't going to be one for the faint hearted. You see we've already met Frankie Leigh (Show Me The Way) and Evan (Follow Me Back) when they were Five and Seven.
We already witnessed and experienced the devastation and uncertainty of Evan's diagnosis. As well as the horrors Frankie endured. Because of this, what I didn't know was how this story was going to play out.
Fast forward, I wanna say 15 years, but I could be wr ...more
"Did you really think I loved you so little? That my love was so superficial that you could leave and I'd forget you? Did you really think you could erase the spot where you are carved inside of me?."

Frankie Leigh and Evan were best friends since childhood and had become more, until one day Evan walked out and left them all behind and heartbroken. Frankie Leigh and his parents have suffered from his loss and missed him every day.
But three years later, they are unprepared to see him arrive back in town. A ...more
Might as well just lay my heart on the ground at the author's feet. Hold on to Hope made me feel every emotion a time or twenty. I probably looked like a theater arts student practicing pantomime as I read this heartbreaking story. One moment giggling at the banter between awesome support characters and the next giving a good gasping guppy impression as the rug was pulled out from beneath me.
She has found someone new to spend time with, but she wouldn't exactly call it a relationship base ...more
Evan and Frankie Leigh are characters we met in her previous books as kids, fast forward a good few years and they are the adults in their own story. Evan is the son of Hope from Follow Me Back, who was born deaf and needed a heart transplant. Frankie Leigh is the daughter of Rex from Show Me T ...more
“I’m finished living my life without you in it".
If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. And as I sit here trying to write my review, I'm struggling to find the words, especially to not spoil the story for anyone who will read it. There's one book by another author that is my alltime favorite book and damn, this one comes so very close to it. I loved Evan and Frankie Leigh's story so much and in one way, without revealing too much, the protective ...more

“all the feels, 5 stars”
Since the day they met it’s always been Frankie Leigh and Evan. Where there is one there is the other, or there used to be. Before Evan took off without notice. He didn’t know it then but he broken Frankie’s heart. And now that he’s back he sees the error of his ways. Only this time he’s not alone. He has a little boy with him, the only other personal besides Frankie that makes him feel needed. Will he be able to repair his ...more
In “Follow Me Back,” I fell in love with the boy. Now, in “Hold on to Hope,” I’ve fallen in love with the man. At 8 years old, Evan Bryant captured my heart. 16 years later, he irrevocably owns it!
Evan and Frankie Leigh had always been so much more than friends--soulmates that connected during childhood and starry-eyed lovers, as young adults. But when the reality of Evan’s health ultimately broke through their dreamy bubble ...more
Do you know that feeling when you walk into a room and you are among friends? That no matter now much time has passed, you pick up right where you left off?
That is exactly how I felt when I “walked” into Hold On To Hope. “Seeing” old friends is something I love about a series of books. When I started reading, I was on such a high when I saw Frankie Leigh and Evan’s names. I adored these two as little kids in Show M ...more
I was not sure exactly what I was expecting going in to a grown up Frankie Leigh and Evan’s story but words cannot accurately express the range of emotions I felt while reading their heartbreakingly beautiful, forever love story. It was so nice to revisit with Hope & Kale and Rynna & Rex too!
A.L. Jackson’s style is like no other and she clearly put her heart and soul into this book like she always does. He ...more

A.L. Jackson has a way with words and every time I open one of her books I quickly become immersed in her characters lives. Hold on to Hope is a gorgeous story, one that I wouldn't help but devour in one sitting. It's a bit of a longer novel but being so invested in the story made the pages fly.
