They say the red zone is the hardest place to score.
But for me, those last twenty yards were my sweet spot.
They didn't call me Lukas "Last Minute Lucy" Callihan for nothing.
I was at the top of my game...until life sacked me harder than any linebacker ever could.
Losing my mom was devastating and left me as the sole person responsible for my little sister.

Taking care

A second chance Romance.
This was unexpectedly sweet and also delightful reading tinged with a little sadness at times.
More a "people" read and not truly a sports romance so don't let the sexy cover or title fool you.
My second Amie Knight read and she definitely has a talent for writing such "wonderful, warm and likable" characters.
I picked this up on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by the storyline.

Amie Knight is one of my favourite authors and I will always drop absolutely everything and read one of her masterpieces. I have been a huge fan of Amie’s ever since I first discovered her amazing ability to capture my heart with her powerful and poignant storytelling in The Line and I have been hooked on her stories ever since. The Red Zone was by no means an exception, if anything, I think this may be her best work yet, and that is saying a lot considering I love absolutely everything she has

‘It was how a girl’s first kiss should be. Romantic. Devastating. Sweet.’

We absolutely love Amie Knight so we were not surprised when we fell in love with her latest story, a sweet and emotional second chance romance. The Red Zone is an addictive sports romance that has a wonderful balance of humour and the emotional after-effects of tragedy. Not only that, it has wonderful humanity and sibling love as well as the importance of friendship and love.

5 Star review of The Red Zone by Amie Knight

Amie Knight is a new author to me and I have no idea why that is.

Where do I start? This was a beautifully written second chance at love story that was at times an emotional roller coaster of a read.

Scarlett Taylor Knox, aka Ms Lettie, teaches special needs students. One of her students Ella is the younger sister of Lukas Callihan, someone Scarlett knew when she was a teenager.

I really liked Scarlett, she was feisty, caring and a woman I could see as

Seriously, ALLLLLL THE STARS, ALLLLLL THE FEELINGS....This book was such a treasure!!!

Lukas and Scarlett met long time ago in high school. Scarlett was wise beyond her years even at the age of 14. She was responsible for tutoring senior football player Lukas. Knowing he was going to make it big, leaving for college still didn't stop her crush from forming. These two were PERFECT for each other. I absolutely loved their reunion with each other and him making a play on the one girl who made him

I know I'm in the minority right now on this, but I just didn't love this story. Didn't hate it either - I'm just feeling a little so-so about it. It started out strong, seeing the development of the friendship between Lukas and Scarlett in high school was great. And watching the bond that was there with Ella too was really wonderful to see.

But, then it started stalling a bit for me. As soon as Lukas realized who Miss Lettie was, it just seemed rushed and a bit forced. There were also

After reading and loving Amie Knight’s Stars Duet, I knew I needed more of the author’s work. The Stars Duet blew my mind, and I was eager for more. Although I have a couple of the author’s backlist on my Kindle, The Red Zone was the one I jumped into first. After reading and loving The Red Zone, I’m even more desperate to go back and read everything the author has previously written. In other words, it seems I’ve become quite the Amie Knight fan.

I’m going to be honest and say I went into The

This is a fun, sweet standalone sports romance with a touch of second-chance-romance

Lukas was living the dream as an NFL player with a promising career ahead of him. But his world fell apart when his beloved mother died and he returned to his home town so that he could care for his special needs sister, Ella. He has so much love for his sister, but is struggling to adjust to playing for a local, not so successful team, and with the responsibilities of caring for a teenager while they’

I think, no I know that The Red Zone just moved up to my favorite book of 2019. This book is packed full of emotions, laugh out loud moments and a love that will grab your heart!

Lukas Callihan is at the top of his game until he gets heartbreaking news. With no choice he heads back home to care for Ella, his sister. What he wasn’t expecting was the one girl from high school that had tied him up in knots. 10 years later these two have a love of Ella and once they meet again the sparks fly and a

The Red Zone by Amie Knight is one of the most special stories I have EVER read.

Honestly as I sit here writing this review, all I can think about is how much I LOVED every single word of this book, and how my words about this amazing book will in no way do it the justice it deserves. This book was everything. It was emotional, meaningful through and through, and one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever had the pleasure of reading. This book owned every part of my heart and soul
The Red Zone is emotional, sweet and laugh out loud funny...I feel like I was the one just swept off my feet!

Lukas and Scarlett met back in high school when he needed a French tutor. As their friendship developed, so did Scarlett’s crush on Luk. A goodbye kiss and he was gone to follow his dream of a football career. I loved the flashback scenes! Ten years later, after the crushing loss of his Mom, he comes home to look after his sister. As luck would have it, he discovers that Scarlett is his

I was completely and utterly blown away by this beautiful, yet heartbreaking story. This story is full of heartache, lost dreams and a will to protect and love like you have never seen before. This story starts off pretty normal and for me it was one that I thought I might like but this story wasn't normal at all. It was heartwarming and dealt with subject matters that you don't often read about. It made me sit up, listen and learn.

Lukas and Scarlett have a past from childhood that spans time

This was a very sweet, wonderful story. It's impossible not to love Lukas, he is the perfect Prince Charming. I connected with Scarlett as well, the state of her love life in the past as well as before she gets together with Lukas, well that's me. But the connection between them was so perfect. Even though I was a bit frustrated at her misreading some of the things he said, I get again that it is the drama of just about all romances. And Ella, it was impossible not to love that sweet girl. I ...more

When she was fourteen, Scarlett Knox tutored the star of the football team, Lukas Callihan, in French. Despite their four year age difference, a friendship developed, only for Luk to leave at the end of his senior year, taking Scarlett's heart with him. Ten years later, he's back home, taking a trade to a lower ranked NFL team to become the guardian to his special needs sister, Ella, when their mother dies unexpectedly. Now, playing football is only a job. His sister is his top priority, but he ...more

Once again, Amie Knight has blown me away with her engaging, poignant, thoughtful storytelling. She’s written another heart-wrenching, heart-warming tale of love, in all its forms, and the lengths that two people will go to for it. Witty, vividly detailed and rich in emotion, Knight’s writing style is also punctuated with endearing, relatable characters. Hers are exactly the kind of romances that I just sink into and get lost in, and The Red Zone was an addictively endearing,

I’m Calling Dibs!
An emotional, heart-warming second chance romance with all the feels. Grab the kleenex and get ready to shed a few tears. This one hits you right in the heart!

Lukas is back in his home town after ten years. After the sudden loss of his mother, he moved back home to care for his sister with special needs. It wasn’t a sacrifice, because loving Ella had always been nothing but pure joy. But parenting...well that was a whole other story.

Scarlett was Ella’s special education teacher.

THE RED ZONE is a sweet but sad second-chance romance. I've read all of Amie Knight's books and this one doesn't disappoint. Wonderful characters trying to do the best they can, with the cards life has dealt them. “I'm Calling Dibs” on this book.

Lukas Callihan was living his dream life. He was quarterback for a football team that was destined to make it to the super bowl. But life as he knew it was about to change drastically, with one phone call. His aunt called to tell him that his beloved

I received an advance copy of the Red Zone by Amie Knight. It's a story about a football player and his french tutor and how they reconnect 10 years later after his mother passes away and he's left to care for his sister who has down syndrome. This book was special, we read a lot about Elle and her down syndrome and how she’s treated just like any normal child. She was raised with a lot of love and that was evident in the book. Everyone who met her immediately fell in love with her, from Luk’s ...more

I received an ARC in return for an honest review. What an easy read! It was such a cute story. I really liked Scarlett and Lukas together. It was kind of nice not to have some epic fight that caused a break-up. Those two are perfect for each other. I did wish the story was longer because I didn’t want it to end!

How full can a heart get after a read? Scarlett has had a crush on Luk since she was 14 and she tutored him in high school his senior year. Luk is just the most perfect alpha who is juggling football and taking care of his special needs sister. This book has all the feels and then some . I found the characters to be so charming and I loved Ella's role in the story and how she really was the glue between the two characters.

Sweet swoony read

The story of Scarlett and Lukas was just SOOOOOOOOO WONDERFUL!!!!
I LOVED IT SO MUCH because there were so many funny and emotional and absolutely romantic and sad and beautiful moments!

“I wanna call dibs on you, Red.”

Amie Knight scored a MEGA TOUCHDOWN with THE RED ZONE, a small-town sports romance chock full of sweetness, poignancy and warm, fuzzy feels!

Star Quarterback Lukas Callihan was at the top of his game…his Florida team was on a winning streak and gearing up for the Super Bowl. But then his picture-perfect life hit a major setback when tragedy struck his family. Grieving over his momma's sudden passing

The Red Zone is a story that is more than I ever imagined, filled with so many endearing moments, it pulled at all of my emotions. Amie Knight is a true master.

Lukas "Last Minute Lucy" Callihan is at the top of his football career when he receives word that his mother suddenly passes away. Given that she was already raising his special needs sister alone, this news was not only devastating to Lukas, but also meant he had to reprioritize his life. Moving back home so he could take over raising

Ten years ago, senior, Lukas Callihan, wanted to call ‘dibs’ on his freshman French tutor, Scarlett Knox. But it wasn’t meant to be at that time. She was still a teenager who had three more years of high school and a whole lot of growing and learning to do, and he was headed to college to play football and hopefully become a professional football player. But regardless of their poor timing, it was clear that their connection was something they both felt and something they both wished would have ...more

The Red Zone is my first book by Amie Knight. Man this was a slow burn read that grabbed me and didn't let go. I couldn't put it down and the characters especially one hasn't left me mind. I adored it! This was one read that is gonna grab your heart and pull at those strings. Its a beautifully written second chance romance with some humor thrown in. But you might want to have some tissues nearby because there was a scene that about did me in.

Amie Knight once again penned a beautiful and romantic story that melted my heart. The Red Zone is not only a second chance romance story, but also a lovely story about the power of unconditional sibling love. I was enthralled by this emotional, gut-wrenching and heart-mending story from start to finish.

Luk was my dream guy. He was loyal, compassionate and kind. I respected Luk’s altruistic decision to put his career on hold because of his unconditional love for his sister, Ella. As a parent,
