This is the fourth book in the Mobile Intelligence Team series by Louise Dawn.

This is unlike other romantic suspense books. The couple started out together and circumstances and mental illness forced them apart. Derek “Slater” Banez had PTSD that crushed his world making him act out in ways that hurt his girlfriend Kat Quinn. Both were in intense life-threatening situations not long after their breakup and each saw the other in their time of dire need. When Derek finally learns of the a

Jade in the Snow is an action-packed adventure! This can be read as a stand alone, but is more enjoyable if you read the series in order. Slater is determined to start fresh with a new position, until the one he pushed away comes back into his life. Kat is so strong and will win you over from the moment you meet her. Louise Dawn has a way of inviting the reader into the story and making you feel as though your a part of it. Action, romance and drama - this book has it all!

After some time has passed their paths cross again but Kat has a serial killer after her. this is a really good ex military romance very well written and the thread of the story has a really great twist to it. an emotional and on your edge of the seat book. I can’t believe Louise Dawn has slipped through my sites, because I loved JADE IN THE SNOW. And even though it’s the fourth book in her Mobile Intelligence Team (MIT) series, I didn’t feel lost. This book is both exhilarating and heart-breaking, because Derek “Slater” Banez and Kathleen Quinn started out as a great couple. Then Slater’s PTSD drove them apart and a serial killer set his sights on Kat. These are two immensely likeable characters, richly developed with strong, emotional depth and a ...more

Slater was with her therapist and told him he had the dream again last night. This was his second therapist, the first one he couldn’t connect with. He respected Seth, he had also served his country like Slater/Derek and was Slater’s newly assigned MIT therapist. After Slater had been blown up by a grenade and had left his tier one team-Mobile Intelligence Team Two - he had a heart to heart with his MIT supervisor about his PTS issues. MIT therapist could discuss sensitive and classified mission ...more

I can't remember the last time I was this back-and-forth on whether or not I liked a book. I believe there are more positive thoughts though, so I'm going to go with that!

The writing itself was engaging, and the story's concept was great. I'm not usually a fan of second-chance-love stories, but the particular situations these two found themselves in was unique and it was done really well! The story was fast paced with a good amount of suspense, and the surprises/dramatic reveals definitely keep

This book was given to me in order to review it. I have never read any of Louise Dawn books before this one but she has now gain a new reader.

The story starts out just right. It start with Derek meeting Kate on a 5K run. Neither were were looking for a relationship but in the end that’s exactly what happen until something tragic pulled them a part. After a couple of years they meet again and they both went through so much while they were separated it the love they have for each other was still

*I received this book as an arc from Netgalley.com & publisher Author Collective 20 for an honest review.* This is the first book I’ve read by Louise Dawn & I loved it!! Such a well written book that had tragedy, love, action, suspense, laughter, tears, friendships, wonderful characters (incl the secondary characters) & I will be reading the rest of the MIT series starting with the first book. This is a second chance romance between Derek “Slater” Banez & Kathleen “Kat” Flynn. Slater was dealing ...more

Jade in the Snow by Louise Dawn is the fourth book in her Mobile Intelligence Team series. I haven't read the previous three books so this was easy to read as a stand alone.

Anyway I LOVED this book because it did such a wonderful job explaining PTSD (Slater) and also Kat attack by a serial killer was han

First read for me by this author, this story deals with a former couple. Derek and Kathleen. Derek is former military and suffers from PTSD. They developed a relationship and due to certain tragedies, they broke apart. When they meet up again, they realize that their love never died. Filled with action, suspense, hot love making, leads to a wonderful HEA for the both of them. This was my first read buy this author and the 4th book in the series, I will be going back to gobble up the first three, ...more

Louise Dawn's latest Slater thriller effectively mixes pacing, plot and fascinating characters to create a page turner you won't want to put down. She addresses the important PTSD issue with the right balance of sensitivity and visceral reality. It gives us a good insight into the complexities of Slater's motivations and struggles. And when it comes to creating effective descriptions of romantic encounters, few do it better. A great read that will make you want to dip back into her Slater cannon ...more

This is a good book to really sink you teeth into. A sweet romance with a military hero and a heroin with an issue of her own. Sometimes the woman just needs to be stronger.

Follow their romance when he finds out what she's been hiding and he won't take no for an answer when it comes to her safety. It will keep you emotionally invested as well as highly entertained.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Simply fabulous

I have said this before and I will say it again, each of the books in this series gets better and better. Louise Dawn weaves a such great storylines. I don't believe in spoilers, but I will say Derek Slater Banez and Kathleen Flynn are made for each other. With a few twists and a lot of action this is a story that will keep you turning the pages as fast as you can! I'm impatiently patiently waiting for the next book in this series.

I really loved this book. I'm aware that this is the fifth book and I did not read the previous ones. But this can be read as a standalone and it is definitely gripping and keeps your interest.
I would recommend this book and would explore reading the previous books and the next in the series that addresses Atlas and Elana.

I am hooked, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I am hooked on this series and this author and I can’t get enough. The fourth former member of the MIT, Slater, who we have met and I’ve been dying for his story and what happened with Kat, his one and only love. The two were together for years and after many months of Slater’s PTSD, which was taking a toll on their relationship, he makes a mistake, a mistake that costs him dearly. Now almost two years later, he runs into Kat at his cousin’ ...more

I write fast-paced, gritty romantic suspense. I've lived an adventurous - sometimes harebrained - life in South Africa, the Middle East, and Utah. Thanks to numerous careers and escapades (Jill of all trades, master of some) I've been lucky enough to have traveled the globe.

I love to write about strong independent women and the men that support them. I try not to include any weak-ass protagonists
