Loved this story. Jace and Charlotte were so good together. They each had issues in their past that they needed to overcome and with the help of each other, they were able to and so much more. They were able to find love again. This story was so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I have read several of her books and she never fails to make me fall in love with her work more and more each time I read it. I can’t wait until the next book in this series.

I received an ARC of this book

Right away this book will break your heart for Charlie. What happens to hear is just so wrong. You really need to read the book to get the full picture of why. Something's is better to be read fro oneself.

Like with the prior book I totally loved this one. These three cousins are so much fun to read about. Up this time is Jace. If you've read the prior book than you already met Jace and his sons. Jace is fighting so

So we meet Charlie who is running from her scumbag and abuser of an ex, leaving doubt in her, afraid and wary of who is who. and she needs to learn how to trust again, can you blame her? Well I certainly didn't and I liked and respected her, this lady has been thru a lot. She meet Jace, who is also trying to rediscover and trust again after getting out of a marriage to someone who would abandon their children (yeah-horrid) right when they both needed each other without knowing how much they did. ...more

“Cowboy Tough”, by Stacy Finz (Kensington Books), is a fascinating and very enjoyable story featuring a fascinating, ordinary, incredibly solid and decent man! It’s just great to have such a well-written story about a regular hero, who, besides being so besotted with the heroine, applies and shows kindness and sense of honor and decency in all facets of his life. He’s just a regular guy but there’s so much extraordinariness

Dry Creek Ranch #2, Jace, Cash, and Sawyer are still trying to figure out how they can keep their ranch in one piece and still have enough to pay the taxes which are coming up and on top of all that Jace is up for re-election as Sheriff and this time he has competition. Jace also needs a new babysitter for his boys, even though the oldest, Travis, is old enough to watch Grady they don't always play nice. Charlotte is on the run from her fiance with the help of an organization that

I enjoyed this book so much I literally don’t even know where to begin. My only complaint is it took Ms. Finz so long to produce this second book in her Dry Creek series that if I hadn’t pre-ordered it, I might have missed it. My litmus test for rating a book is simple. How hard is it for me to put it down before I finish reading it and how do I feel about it once I have. I couldn’t put this book down until I read it from cover to cover (or whatever the Kindle equivalent of that is) and now that ...more

Jace and Charlie are two people who have been betrayed and hurt by their exes. Jace’s ex wife couldn’t wait to leave the ranch life behind even though it also meant leaving him and his boys behind too. Now she travels the world giving no thought or care toward the two sons who desperately miss her. Jace hasn’t forgotten the betrayal, but he isn’t holding on to the hurt as much any more. Charlie is on the run, trying to escape her abusive, rich lawyer boyfriend. He has taken control over life, ...more

Cowboy Tough is the second title in the Dry Creek Ranch series, and if you’re following the series then you’ve met Jace and his young sons before. If you’re just coming to this world then you’ll feel right at home. I would, however, suggest going back to the first story, Cowboy Up, for it’s a delightful tale and these cousins definitely have intertwined lives in many ways. There is domestic abuse in this story – if that is a trigger for you then be aware.

Charlotte Holcomb/Charlie Rogers had pulled off the road when the cramping started. "This is bad, real bad," she thought. The next thing she knew a sheriff was asking her to put her window down and telling her she couldn't stay there. She told him she would get her car back on the road but realized she just couldn't. When the sheriff noticed blood on the seat she told him she was having a miscarriage. He convinced her to let him take her to the hospital and maybe they could save the baby.

Cowboy Tough by Stacy Finz is the second in the Dry Creek Ranch series. This second book is at least as good as the first, if not better. Sheriff Jace Dalton finds a woman parked at the side of a road out in the country. She appears to be in the middle of miscarrying a child. When she is finally released she won't tell him her name, only Charlie, which he senses is not entirely accurate. There are no motel rooms available so he takes her to his house for the night. He's a nice guy. The one night ...more

Jace and Charlotte probably would never have met if her miscarriage had not sidelined her on the road in Jace’s territory. And even though he played good Samaritan they would not have had seen one another again if this that and the other thing had not serendipitously happened to keep them together longer than that ride to the hospital. The reasons he offered her shelter and she chose to accept the shelter make for a good story. Add in the backstory of

Stacy Finz has another winner with her latest book, Cowboy Tough. This novel grabs you right from the start and the heart-stirring story never loses momentum. The two primary characters, Charlotte Holcomb and Jace Dalton, have amazing chemistry, and their romantic courtship is replete with friendship, desire and love. Ms. Finz is a talented storyteller and her words kept me glued to my seat.

Stacy has another winner with Jace and Charlie’s story. They meet when Charlie is at her lowest point, and Jace can’t seem to help going above and beyond to help the beautiful, sad woman. She ends up staying with him and his boys and amazingly, is the first caretaker Travis and Grady have not united to run off the place. It’s a match made in heaven except for her reticence and the danger that’s lurking.

This second book of Stacy’s Dry Creek Ranch trilogy does not suffer from middle-story

I thoroughly enjoyed book one in this series, and this one was just as good.
The premise of the series is of three cousins that inherit a ranch from their grandfather. A ranch they love and are trying to keep afloat, while working their various jobs.
This time the story belongs to Sheriff Jace Dalton. Single dad whose ex abandoned the kids to be a free spirit.
On a stormy night, Jace comes across a car on the side of the road with a pregnant woman in pain.
Unbeknown to him, that encounter was going

Every town needs sheriff like Sheriff Jace Dalton in Cowboy Tough by Stacy Finz. I think it would be rather impossible to get to know him in this story without falling at least a little in love with him. Despite Charlotte Holcomb’s past, she wants to succumb to those feelings, believing that good men still exist.

Instead of cattle rustling, domestic abuse is taken on in this second story of the Dry Creek Ranch cousins’ series. Jace is honorable, hardworking, a stand up kind of guy wo also has a

Really good. This was a very emotional book to read, the storyline was one that should never happen but sadly does. Charlotte (Charlie) is on the run for her life from her abusive boyfriend & has just suffered a great loss. Jace is no stranger to loss & has picked himself up & started over more than once. Finding Charlie on the highway in need of medical attention is where they meet, letting Charlie stay at his ranch as his babysitter for his 2 boys is how they fall in love. Charlie ...more

On the run and falling in love with the sheriff!

Jace Dalton just wants to be reelected as sheriff and take care of his sons when he finds Charlie Rodgers AKA Charlotte Holcomb on the side of the road having a miscarriage while she’s on the run from her abusive boyfriend. Jace offers Charlie a place to stay at his house with his boys while she recovers from the miscarriage but Charlie is hoping that staying in a small county will help protect her plus there is some attraction to Jace.

Cowboy Tough was a romantic, suspenseful story. I enjoyed returning to Dry Creek Ranch and the sexy, Dalton cousins. This book focused on Jace and his boys, Travis and Grady. Jace's wife left him awhile ago and the boys have not seen or heard from their mom in a few years. They liked to get their housekeepers/ babysitters to quit until Charlie came along.

Charlie's story had me on pins and needles because she fled from an abusive relationship and you knew Corbin would be back to get rid of her

Sheriff Jace Dalton’s is already busier than any one person should be and then he comes across a stranded motorist just a few miles from his home at the end of a really busy day. With two boys to raise, a reelection to win, and tax bill due on the ranch, all he wants at the end of the day is to go home and crash on his couch. But the woman in the packed SUV clearly needs his help. Charlotte (Charlie) Holcomb thought she’d escaped her abusive boyfriend but she’s still looking over her shoulder.. ...more

Cowboy Tough is book two in Stacy Finz Dry Creek series and brings readers a delightful hero in Jace and an equally likeable heroine in Charlie. Jace is the type of man every woman dreams of meeting. Dependable, caring, honourable and kind; this man is just that good. He lives his life in a way that says, “You can trust in me” and he loves with all of his heart.

This story showcases two extraordinary people cultivating and building a new relationship from a deep and emotional connection to a

When Sheriff Jace Dalton’s wife leaves him, he is left alone to raise his two sons at the family ranch. Returning home one night he finds a car on the side of the road with an injured woman in the car. She can’t remain in one place for long as she fears her fiancé, a powerful attorney from an influential family, will find her. When Jace offers her a room for the night, and with ...more

Cowboy Tough was a great rest have the second book in Dry Creek Ranch Series. Sheriff Jace Dalton has such great charisma in book 1 if this series that I couldn't wait for his own book. His great boys add such great family elements to the story and charm you as you read about the fun and hijinks.

What do you do if you’re a victim of abuse? It’s easy to say you’d stay and fight, or you’d pick up and leave. But, what if the abuser has connections and could kill you? Do you go to the cops or do you run? Charlie ran. On her way to escape, things happen and she ends up at Dry Creek Ranch with Jace (the local Sheriff) and his family. Jace is a good guy, so Charlie was lucky.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters and their interactions seemed so real. Kids do silly things, and I really

This book had my attention from the second I started reading it. It brings you through a few emotions like feeling heartbroken, fearful, happy, romantic, trustworthy, and loved. Incredible reading and subject matter by Stacy Finz as we return to Dry Creek Ranch. Jace Dalton and Charlie Rogers story will pull at your heart strings all they way through and truly make you feel for each character.
Jace found Charlie on the side of the road in medical need after taking her to the hospital and waiting until she had been cared for he offered her shelter.
Charlie was running for her life she didn't know a man could be as solid as Jace but she knows she could never stay.

Couldn't put it down! Started out strong and continued throughout with intrigue, drama and suspense. Charlotte or Charlie, was in trouble, and Jace brought her to his house. They fell for each other, so there's a bit of good heat here, along with two boisterous typical boys just being themselves. All goodness, but there's always the feeling that things can change in the blink of an eye, and boy did it!
I loved reading this, keeping me in the thick of things to the end.

What a wonderful story! Charlie is running from an abusive boyfriend, needing to learn to trust herself and others. Jace is learning to trust again after his failed marriage. His sons are still reeling with the fallout of their mother walking away, and Jace and his cousins are dealing with how to hang on to their grandfathers ranch. And the reader gets a heartwarming story of hope and healing, family, trust, and love! Wonderful characters, plenty of emotion, and a bit of suspense - this is a ...more

I found this book was average. I liked the characters for the most part but not extremely memorable. Sometimes I was surprised at how willingly Charlotte got into the new relationship since she was running away from an abusive relationship but that could be because I would be less likely to trust another man after that or be a lot more cautious than she was. I loved watching Jace as a father and watching him interact with his two sons. It showed his character and made it easier to see how ...more

Charlotte is on the run from her abusive husband when Jace, the local sheriff, finds her in her car having a miscarriage. Terrified to trust anyone, Charlie tries to keep Jace at a distance but that is easier said than done. Jace is determined to find out exactly what happened and to protect her. She has some pretty powerful people after her but that isn't going to stop him. I enjoyed this sweet romantic suspense novel.
