I think this one is my favorite book from this series and I kind of feel sad to say goodbye to all characters. Even if Everley sometimes got under my skin because she was kind of whiny in this book, I still liked her as she growth a lot through this series. I felt a little dissatisfied with the ending as it felt kind of rushed.
And I have to repeat what I say in every review of these series - I just adore relationship between Everley and Jamison.

Emily R. King's Everafter Song is the third and final installment in the authors The Evermore Chronicles. It has been a month since the end of Into the Hourglass. Protagonist Everley Donovan is a wanted woman. She has been charged by Queen Aislinn of being a sorceress with a clock heart. She's also been accused of murdering her own Uncle Holden. Everley's cat and mouse game with Prince Killian Markham has been set back by Kil

I have absolutely adored this trilogy and now with this final instalment Everley has to make the ultimate sacrifice. She’s such a brave character and it’s been impossible not to like her as she constantly gets outmanoeuvred by the tricky Killian. Killian is without doubt a truly vile character who never hesitates in his plan to cheat time and enslave humans. His numerous crimes are heinous and include murder and even the death of a world. This time Everley has to chase him to the land where gian ...more

Everafter Song

This is the third and last book in the Evermore Chronicles Series. I gave 5-❤️ to each book in the series because they are equally great. This series is filled with action, suspense, courage, surprises, and, of course, love. The last book concluded the series in a spectacular way.

In the last book, Everley is in hiding because of the queen’s false accusations. She is still mourning the loss of her family and is determined to find Killian Markham and make his pay for his sins. With the help of her

I absolutely loved this series! It's been so fun to read! Each book was peppered with influences from many different fairy tales, some more obvious than others. I loved seeing all the different inspirations throughout the series.

EVERAFTER SONG is the third and final book in this series, and it was an action packed, exciting conclusion. I thought it was the perfect ending. I really enjoyed how Emily R. King made you care about her whole cast of characters and not just the main ones. I even found

Either ending could have worked, but what if...

This review dwells mostly on the ending, so you can assume there may be spoilers. Don't read this until after you have finished the book yourself!

I still don't know how I feel about the ending of this book and series. Father Time knew it would all work out if Everley decided to fix the break in time, (view spoiler)
Emily R. King takes us on yet another exhilarating journey with our heroine, Evie; and I was once again unable to tear my eyes away from this book for even a second. We get to see more world, meet more characters, understand the depth of Killian and finally why he's done all of this. In a way, however, the reveal for his villainy was almost disappointing. I personally didn't think it warranted how evil he ended up becoming, but I suppose this is true of most villains in the real world.

I received this novel from net galley and the publisher. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The conclusion to the Evermore Chronicles will have Everley Donovan making the ultimate sacrifice, but can she do it? Killian Markham, the prince of elves, has a devious plan and is always steps ahead of Everley Donovan and her friends. Everley has been Killian's pawn for too long. Killian has allies and plans to wake the giants from their slumber to finish what was started hundreds of years

Filled with colourful characters with immensely detailed backstories, I found there are quite a few I could personally relate to, I dare say, there is something in here for everyone.

With a lot of spirit travelling, time travelling and world travelling, this is not the easiest read to follow, but if you pace yourself and stick with it the big picture falls in place perfectly at the end.

I love the mystery and atmosphere that each character brings to the story, as we wait for the story to unfold.

The final book in a trilogy, Ms King has constructed an inventive and imaginative world where our hero Everley, must surmount incredible obstacles with her friends to defeat an evil prince and save her worlds (there are seven in her universe). The wonderful descriptions of the varied characters is what makes this story so enjoyable in the end. You are roped in to their fight and journey, even though there is virtually nothing even close to real, including Evie's clock heart.

A good conclusion to this trilogy. I enjoy the strong characters, the representation through a diverse and inclusive band. A well rounded story with just the right balance of battle and team. Not to be read out of sequence, this is a series worth binging!

This was a good ending to the trilogy. It actually read faster than the previous 2 books. I just wish the epilogue had shared a bit more about what happened to certain characters. But otherwise, I'm happy with how everything turned out. ...more

Wow. What can I say I loved books one and two in the trilogy and EverAfter Song did not disappoint. From a strong female heroine named Everly with a clock for a heart to the wide array of friends she has gained along the way some other strong females like her dear friends who love each other the Cat and the Fox to Vevina and Quinn a child who has grown into herself, and lastly an elf born male who uses a glamour to show the world

The finale to the ‘Evermore Chronicles’ by Emily R.King is here . Since I have not read the previous versions of the series, my understanding of the whole concept might be flawed but I would like to share the general impression of “The Everafter Song” as a stand alone.

Based on the opening and gathering from the ensuing conversation between Jamie & Everley, I am assuming that Everley is the reluctant heroine tasked with the task of saving the world and one who falls afoul of the authorities ergo

I did not expect much from the last book in this trilogy, and I was not peasantly surprised, nor disappointed. If anything, this instalment shows the same strengths and flaws as the previous books: amazing mythology, a beautiful writing style, but overall predictability and problems in pacing.

Overall, I feel that not much happened during those 3 books. They all have the same format: very slow until the action picks up at about 70 or 80%. If it is understandable in the first book to explain the

4.5 stars

This was so hard for me to rate. After finishing my heart said 4.5 stars but my mind was saying there were a few things I didn’t like about the ending. I’ve decided I’m giving it 4.5 because I enjoyed it so much. It’s been a long time since I binge read a series and it was so much fun. I’m sad to be saying goodbye to these characters and these worlds. This one is definitely causing a book hangover, and I’m glad I didn’t hesitate to start this one right away.

Clever, original and impactful, a thoughtful reaffirmation of original writing.

Creative style and flair with significance, a welcome addition in today's writing world, Emily R. King delivers with flourish. This trilogy is just one piece of a growing body of work, that I look forward to reading much more of. Thank you Emily R. King, work well done, well done.

MORE Reasons you need to read The Evermore Chronicles (aka My Review of Everafter Song)

This entire series has been incredibly difficult to write reviews for. Mostly, I just want to rant about how amazing it is. And it IS amazing. So, here are some more reasons why you should read this series (as told after I finished reading Everafter Song, the final book in the series).

The writing is incredibly lyrical without bringing down the pacing. The moment I began reading the first page, I felt like I wa

To be completely honest, I was never in love with this series. I enjoyed the first book, but by the time I started Everafter Song, I just wasn't invested anymore.

It's not a bad novel. The writing is good, and the world building is extravagant (if not overly complicated). And I liked the heroine, too. But in this story, I was just bored. None of the characters felt three-dimensional, the magic system was messy and confusing, and the pacing dragged and then jumped and ultimately felt weak and poo

This was one of those series that really caught me off guard and I was surprised it did not have a wider audience. Emily King has an abundance of imagination that allows her characters to seamlessly hop from one adventure to the next - each portion unique and vivid - from cursed islands and time-frozen fairy tale realms, to realms of storm tossed seas and mermaids (and not the kind that inspire I Love Mermaids tee-shirts), to a steampunk land of Giants nestled somewhere in the clouds. Time, time, time. The Evermore Chronicles is a series devoted to time; the crushing loss of loved ones for whom time is now silent, Father Time's seven world machinations, for some, time is immortal, time uncovers false friends, reveals truth, allows years to plot revenge or to seek solace, and, of course, time is an ever-present, tick-tocking of a clock heart.

When I started this journey I honestly didn't know what to expect. All that I really knew about the series was a girl had a clock heart but she was full of sassiness and revenge. After finishing the first book, I would have never expected the story to take the turn it actually did. But it was amazing. As I was finishing up this book I was astounded by the way Emily took this story. It was so rich in the world and its lore.
