I’m the kid your parents warned you about…

Eighteen months in prison or three years at Oceanside Academy.
Reform school has met its match in me, even if it is full of young offenders. Thieves, graffiti writers, drug runners and other petty criminals reside within the walls, and I'm just like them.
But what they didn't tell me was that I'd be one of only a handful of gir

Dnf at 20%, might give it a try next time but this book was not for me. There was no chemistry between any of the characters whatsoever, and i liked Asia and she was a strong heroine but this book was too weird for me.

Asia is a graffiti artist. An artist who got caught tagging and is given the option of three years at Oceanside Academy or prison. So now she finds herself in a residential center run by a former convict who wants to change lives. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. Life at Oceanside follows the same rules of the streets and the rival gangs. However, Asia isn't one to follow rules.

Bea Paige has become one of my favorite authors. Her books have always been entertaining but now they have substance

Enjoyed this beginning to a new series... love the jaded characters and their tragic pasts and I can’t wait to read more about them!

I'm going to round up to a three. While I thought it was OK, sometimes I feel like the two-stars Goodreads uses sends a much harsher message about the book in question.

Delinquent has a premise that I really liked because 1) I feel like I don't get to see the "alternative school" setting very often, and that specific location already sets an expectation for what many of the characters might be like. 2) I was looking forward to a tough FMC who was a survivor and was used to not taking sh*t from a

This is an academy book. It’s also a bullymance. It’s also an RH. Those have been done before, sure..but they haven’t been done like THIS.

I read the blurb, saw the cover and thought “yep..I need this in my life!” And you guys..it’s just honestly such a good book. It doesn’t read or feel like what’s out there right now. It’s just..more. You’ve got your female lead who is unapologetic with her loyalty and devotion to her friend(s) and surrogate family. Honestly I loved that about her, so so much!

Dark, gritty, compelling. I don’t know where to begin. Asia, I love her. Tough as Stone with a heart. She’s mean, she’s got attitude, she’s bad and she knows it. This isn’t your typical academy story. This isn’t for the rich and perfect.
These kids are basically inmates. It was academy or prison for Asia. She will be tested and tried at this new “prison”.
They’ve all done wrong, they’re all on edge and ready to fight. Asia’s men will have to break down walls and prove they’re worth her time, can

Fantastic!

What a fantastic read! My emotions are all over the place!! Asia is full of fire...she draws her men in (very unintentionally) like moths to her flame!! Definitely got a love/hate thing going on with the guys....Well lust/hate might be more accurate!! Can’t wait to read more...after that ending, it seems like things are about to get even more interesting!

I loved how different this story was compared to Bea Paige's other books. I think she is really coming into her own and I love everything she is putting out. I cannot wait to see what she does with this series. I felt so many emotions while reading this book, almost as many as I did in her Finding Their Muse series. I think this will hit a lot of boxes for readers and I cannot wait to see their reactions ❤.

So let's get this started off by mentioning Bea Paige has some hilarious one-liners. We ha

I have been eagerly anticipating this book since the characters were teased in Symphony and it more than lived up to my hopes and expectations.
Delinquent is a gritty, dark, academy, bully romance. (Did I throw enough at you there?) Really there are so many tropes that can be covered here as there are quite a few relationships that develop in this book.
You know that mistake you often make? The one where you open a book late at night and think — it's ok, I'll only read a chapter or two. And then y

I was looking forward to Delinquent, and let me tell you I was not disappointed. Asia is one tough character. You would have to be to be where she is from. I instantly liked her. Her toughness, her wit and humor. She is loyal, and fights hard for those she cares for.

The story starts where Asia is in court because of graffiti and getting caught. She is sent to Oceanside Academy, which is a reform school, for all sorts of misfits. She leaves behind her best friend Eastern. They have always had ea

The end of Symphony introduced readers to Alicia, aka Asia, and her men and whetted my curiosity about these new characters and what had happened in their lives. This book is the beginning of their story. Asia is a kick butt heroine who is not going to put up with much of anything. Her life has been difficult from the day she was born, and has only become more difficult now that she has found herself mixed up with two different gangs and being placed at Oceanside Reform School. Everything Asia h ...more

Gritty, thought-provoking, heart-wrenching book from the fabulous Bea Paige

This book was so provocative (in both the provoking a reaction sense and in the tantalising sense) that I found it hard to put down and even harder to put it out of my mind when I had. The first of Bea's new Academy of Misfits series, it grabbed hold of my heart and squeezed hard, right from the start.
Asia is an incredible heroine, living as best she can with very little going for her in her short life. At sixteen, she ha

Delinquent is a raw and gritty, new adult contemporary romance from this very talented author. I really don’t know what to say, aside from that this is completely different from her previous books. This time, she focused on a story that isn’t always featured; the stories of a young woman like Asia and her group of young men. Those “troubled” teens under a faulty system and whose voices and hardships were mostly not heard. I like it when an author tries to give a fresh, not often seen, realistic ...more

Well this was not what I expected of Bea Paige, but can I just say I love this new direction she's taken. Ended up finishing it within a few hours. This story was so fresh. A little gritty, a little dark, but so captivating. I really appreciated how Asia was never made out to be either above her

Ok ive just finished this book and i have to remind myself that this book is actually about wayward teens because flaming hell it doesnt read like it. Theyre teenagers living adult lives with adult consequences. Asia (the MFC) has had a lot of difficulties in her life that leads her to being put into Oceanside Academy otherwise known as the Academy of Misfits. A last resort before prison is an option. Life in this Academy is not all warm and welcoming. Its full of gang members, bullying and viol ...more

This book is totally awesome! Brilliant read that captured your attention from the beginning.
Bea Paige is a superb author. In this story some very touchy and distressing subjects are covered but they've been woven into this stunning journey.
A journey following asia, a young girl caught up in street crime and gangs. A story of hurt, betrayal, dispair, learning, love and beginnings of happiness.

This story made me feel, those brilliantly written pages brought to life an array of feelings. You find

New to me author, I think this book was introduced through another authors newsletter. I was drawn to the cover, intrigued by the blurb and bought a copy. There was something about Delinquent that pulled me in, I couldn’t wait to get into it. The authors immersed me into the life on a troubled teenager, both the mannerisms and language were real...not forced, but delivered an I don’t care attitude. Not knowing the authors maturity, I think she did an absolute stellar job of portraying these kids ...more

Absolutely fantastic

As soon as I saw the first teaser and blurb about this release, I knew I had to read it. This book was absolutely fantastic. I’m a sucker for not just the “bad boys” but for a not-so-innocent FMC with questionable morals as well, both of which this book had in droves, and it was executed flawlessly as well. Get this book. Immediately.
My heart. The feels. All of them. I felt all the things right along with the FMC, Asia - the anxiety, the fear, the anger, the heat 😏. I have

I thouroughly enjoyed this book! This is the first book I’ve read by Bea and I can 100% say I will be reading her others! I loved that this book was different then all the other bully academy books. It’s real, and honest. Too honest at times, and I was so here for it. I loved how loyal and blunt Asia was, and that even after the tough life she has lived she still has room in her heart for her brothers, best friend, and eventually other men in her life (hopefully)! There was plenty of angst and s ...more

Great first book! I don't normally go for the contemporary I like a bit more paranormal in my books but this was still enjoyable. I'm not sure if I will read the second or not because of that, as well as I legit can't handle the drama/suspense/criminal-ness of it lol! I think I'm just too good at heart and I want to be like bb's go to therapy make good choices what are you doing children!?

I loved every single thing about this story. It's fun, interesting, emotional, and incredibly well written. It's the kind of story that you just sink into and forget that it's not real life.

Asia is fierce, fiery, sassy, so smart, and so very strong. She's got a huge heart hidden under layers and layers of a hardness that comes from a rough life. As she gets a final chance at Oceanside Academy and from the moment she arrives, the challenges she faces and the relationships she begins to form make

Excellent! 👌🏽

What a good start to a new series from Bea Paige!

It’s gritty and filled with so much angst. Delinquent is a slow burn bully/drama/crime/romance novel. The pace isn’t too fast and not drawn out. You get a real chance to get a feel for the characters. I especially like that the characters aren’t your usual stuck up snobby brat but kids from the other side of the track.

The storyline is fantastic, there are so many twists, buts it’s written so well you don’t get lost in them, I really

I first came across Alicia (Asia) and her boys in Symphony (book 4 in the Finding my Muse series) so know they come out the other side, but Delinquent is Asia’s story of meeting her boys. Asia gets sent to Oceanside rather than juvie and the ride is a little wild. I really love Asia and loved the relationships she has- with her little brothers, her best friend Eastern, the girls at the Academy Pink and Kate and the beginnings of something with some of the Oceanside boys. Asia is a graffiti artist, and has been taking care of herself, fo the most part, since she was a kid. She doesn’t rely on or trust anyone, except a couple core people. She is anti-gang, but finds herself basically the focus of two gangs after she lands herself in the Academy of Misfits. Paige really was able to capture the street mentality that kids like Asia have. I liked that Asia was a strong character, and really holds her ground with her beliefs. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2, ...more

An all night binge read!

I mean I literally started this book as soon as it went live at 11 pm and stayed up til 4 am so I could finish it. I was sucked it from the very beginning where I was catching myself looking to see how much was left because I didn't want it to end! A mean I am here for the strong af females who can handle their own and when you throw in alpha males how can anyone resist?! The author makes the all sound so freaking good I couldn't choose one if I tried!

I really liked this book!! I loved Asias character and how true to herself, strong, and independent she was. Camden, sonny and ford where perfect. I loved sonny the most of course because he was hilarious and who doesnt love a good sense of humor. I loved where the story went and that ending was killer. Now i cant wait for book 2. Pretty sure this is my favorite Bea series to date!! I can’t wait to see where this goes, even knowing how Asia and her harem end up. I love how Bea’s been sneaking in cameos/previews into her books. It makes me so happy. We met Asia and her boys in the Muse trilogy and the Brothers Freed make an appearance in Delinquent. This series has a completely different feel than anything else I’ve read of the author’s. I’ll just stay here in the corner and patiently wait for more.... 😁
