Hungering for a life of adventure, when Aaron Parker fled his sleepy hometown of Destiny Falls, he vowed to never look back. In his decade spent on the road, he hasn’t regretted that decision once. He has found joy in every aspect of his life... except love.
If her past has taught Mia Marshall anything, it’s that long-distance relationships never work. After having her heartbroken time and again, she made one simple rule to prevent herself from falling in that same trap again. No long-distance relationships. If she’s meant to find love, it will be in her hometown of Destiny Falls... or not at all.
When Aaron makes a trip home for his Dad's retirement party, he finds himself drawn to Mia at first glance. But what chance does a man devoted to the road have with a headstrong woman whose been burned by her past? Which will break first, her rule or his heart?
Mel Walker is an award-winning rare bird, the male romance author. Specializing in heartfelt small-town romance, he enjoys telling compelling romances with all the feels. A native New Yorker and life-long frustrated NY Mets fan, he enjoys baseball, reading, bike rides, and writing outdoors where he absorbs the energy of the city.
Another beautiful and amazing story by Mel Walker. Aaron's Heart gave me ALL the feels. I am so in love with this book, especially Aaron. He is such a sweetheart and oh so romantic! I loved his love for Mia. Mia is such a fun loving person how can you not love and admire her? She is career driven until she finds what she didn't realise she was looking for. This was one of those books that as soon as you start reading it, you can not stop until you have finished it. Mel has a talent with writing characters that you fall in love and connect with and has you so absorbed in the book that everything around you gets put on hold. I can't wait to see what's in store for the Lake Hope series!
Although this book can be read as a stand-alone... it is actually book 2 in a series. This is a well written story. Aaron and Mia are easy to relate to. It was a very enjoyable, entertaining and fun read
This is my first Mel Walker story. I thoroughly enjoyed Aaron's Heart. If you are looking for a sweet, heartwarming, romantic story go grab this one. This story has well-developed characters, love, misunderstandings, insecurities, self-doubt, and happiness. I absolutely loved Aaron and Mia. This will not be my last Mel Walker story. Only the beginning. Thumbs up!
I received a free copy to review: Aaron and Mia's story is raw and deep; past hurts grip her heart and hold her back from completely abandoning herself to love - Aaron has to break through her defences and prove his absolute unconditional commitment to her. Mel succinctly captures the rolling emotions each experience and their journey to Forever. Oozing romance, this second book in the Lake Hope series is more riské than Ryan's Kiss; but I appreciated the fact that the sex scenes were not explicit.
Profanity/Blasphemy: yes Sex: premarital sex - not explicit Triggers: broken trust from a cheating partner
Aaron has an amazing job that keeps him traveling all over searching for the perfect locations.
Mia lives in her small town of Destiny Falls working a job she also loves.
Aaron really has no desire to settle down in one place- no time for a permanent relationship.
Mia has been hurt one too many times- Her trust is hard to come by and doesn't give her heart to anyone..
These two have amazing electricity together The story line is so sweet! I fell in love with Destiny Falls and Lake Hope! Read Aaron's Heart and find out how this wonderful HEA plays out! You will truly love this romance. 5 Stars!!!
Aaron's heart I don't even know where to start with this review. Aaron's heart is like no other book that I have read it's a romantic love story, but you can actually feel the emotions almost like they're coming off the pages and wrapping around you. Aaron is such a sweetheart and I think everyone women wants her man to have a little Aaron in him. This book is the 2nd book in a series but your not lost or confused this book just flows and the words and characters capture your heart and mind because days later your still thinking about this book.
Oh boy! I loved these two, but they drove me kind of insane. It was really sweet that Aaron was the one who fell first and that he fell so hard and fast. But that speed kind of made him fumble some really important interactions with Mia. And poor Mia. She’d been burned so badly before, even a golden retriever hero like Aaron had a tough time breaking through her defenses. I adored where the author was able to get them to in the end, and I spent a lot of time laughing with them as they got there, however there were times when I despaired of them ever finding their way.
Loved this story of a woman who isn’t looking for love but a determined man pulls down her walls. Mia has been hurt in the past and can’t trust anyone who she can’t keep track of. Aaron’s job takes him all over the world. But Mia can’t seem to resist his charms. I loved the dual point of view. Mia and Aaron had very determined agendas in their views of love and their careers. I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out.
While not written as a stand alone novel, I read Aaron's Heart as one, and so enjoyed this story. Aaron and Mia are well-developed, sympathetic characters with a love story that drew me in right away. The plot is well-paced and engaging, and the emotion and feels are - like the little bear's porridge - just right. I am looking forward to Mel Walker's next book, and going back to read the book before this one!
An amazing second book in the Lake Hope series. This story follows Aaron and Mia. Both the characters are from book 1 in the series. I highly suggest reading book 1 first. Mia hasn't had the best luck in relationships. Trust is a huge issue for her. On top of small town living,it doesn't help her any in the love department. Not that shes truly looking for it. Aaron is a hard working man with a job in Hollywood. It also leads him to travel alot. Never letting him have much time to settle down or find his soul mate. Lake Hope brings these two together as their journey to a hea begins. This story is a sweet, cute, fun second in the series. Its entertaining and fun to read. The characters are amazing. Everything I love in a book. 5/5.
“Aaron’s Heart was an absolutely lovely story. Mel wrote a beautiful love story! Aaron and Mia’s story was engaging and with lots of emotions. The characters were splendid and the connection between them felt so real. Aaron and Mia’s chemistry was so delightful and pleasant to read. I highly recommend you this story!”
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. I devoured this book in one sitting. It is a really good, well written romance book. It's about Aaron and Mia and their journey to finding their HEA. Which has it's ups and downs along the way, as any relationship does, and that is why I enjoyed it so much because it's totally relatable in the sense of any normal relationship. If you enjoy reading romance book's then this book is definitely one for you 😍😍💞💞
Aaron's Heart Book 2 in Lake Hope series is about Aaron and Mia’s love story. The story was so realistic and filled with many emotions. I laughed and cried as I felt like I was right in Lake Hope watching this all unfold! I can’t wait for book 3!
Lake Hope is a phenomenal series! Book two is about Aaron and Mia and their story has quite a few ups and downs but I love that Ryan and Candice are also in this book as well!
Aaron’s Heart makes me want to take a leap into the book and visit my friends. Wendy for Janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
This was my first Mel Walker book and what a sweet read. It is book 2 in the series but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. Loved Aaron and how he falls for Mia so completely and is willing to do anything to see her happy. He is a total charmer. Mia’s friends were fiercely loyal but wanted her to find her happiness. Destiny Falls and Lake Hope sound like such fabulous places I want to go visit the Lodge. I’m looking forward to going back and reading Ryan and Candice’s story as well as book 3 when it comes out.
This is an absolutely beautiful story. It's a well written and engaging love story, filled with lots of emotions and wonderful characters. I loved the storyline and the chemistry between Aaron and Mia. Mel Walker did an amazing job with this story and I highly recommend reading it, you won't be disappointed. One click now and enjoy.
Mel Walker did it again. What a beautiful love story. The characters were very relatable and their sense of humor kept me laughing. Book #2 in the Lake Hope series did not disappoint. I sure hope there’s a book #3 so Dana can find her forever love.
Beautifully written story that tugs at the heart. I was drawn in from the very first page, these characters were easy the relate to and the story so engaging that I did not want to put it down. I loved the fact that we get some Candace and Ryan in this one too. How could I not fall in love with Aaron when he NEVER gives up?!?!
Definitely looking forward to more from Lake Hope....
Mia wants nothing to do with a long distance relationship she has been burned before but when she met Aaron she was falling pretty hard till he traveled for his job. Aaron has just found his forever in Mia but she won’t give him the time of day but he is nothing but determined. Mia is convinced that she will never be loved and Aaron has found what he has been searching for, if they could only meet in the middle. I loved how Mia knew her own mind and Aaron could see right in it.
Beautiful love story! This is the 2nd book but can be a standalone but you should read the 1st bc characters from the 1sr book are in it! Mia and Aaron have amazing chemistry!
Aaron's Heart is the second in this series, and is about the other Parker boy. Aaron left town years ago and has never looked back. He has tried his hand at a variety of jobs, and is currently a location scout for Hollywood, which has him travelling all the time. He came home to Destiny Falls for his father's retirement party. He met Mia at it, and sparks flew and he was enchanted with her. He was pulled away the next day, but returns home a few weeks later anxious to see Mia since she ghosted him. Mia has been heartbroken before and vows to never be in another long distance relationship. Aaron isn't going to just let her go, she has captured his heart. Will Mia let her defenses down for what could be the best relationship of her life? Will Aaron win Mia's heart? You will need to read to find out. But Aaron' knows what he wants and will do anything to get it, but most of all he will do everything in his power to see that all of Mia's dreams come true. I loved the first book, and not sure how this is possible, but I think I love this one even more. I mean it is hard to resist a Parker boy! I loved that so many of the same characters are in this book, so you can see how they have all grown. All I can say is Mia is one lucky girl, and I hope she realizes the treasure she has with Aaron. I am loving this series, and I can't wait to read the next one! Please keep these books coming Mel Walker!
Aaron has a fulfilling job in Hollywood. He travels a lot and enjoys it. The one thing missing from his life is love. Mia has been in a relationship in the past that did not end with a HEA. She is guarded and has set some rules in her life to protect her heart. When these two meet when Aaron comes home to his small town for his dads retirement party there are sparks. But with a small town girl and a roving wanderer will these two be willing to bend to have the one thing their life is missing? This was a sweet read. Great small town feel and wonderful characters. I did not read the first in the series and was able to follow this standalone without any issue. Great job in getting inside the characters heads by the writer. I am volunteering to leave a review for this book.
I seem to be reading this series in the reverse order starting from the third book, Dana’s story and going back to Aaron and Mia’s story. Though this is the second book of the series, it can be read as a standalone. A sweet, sweet love story written in a simple language that touches the heart. The characters are well developed, realistic and relatable. Their feelings have been described beautifully. The story has been written in first person from the point of view of both Mia and Aaron. I loved the relationship Mia and her friends share and also that between Aaron and Ryan. The story is paced in such a way that once I started it, I did not want to keep it down. Waiting to read Ryan and Candice’s story next.
This book was full of romance but sadness as well. This Author tells us about hometown people trying to deal with what there life has become. One moved out and doesn't want to look back, the other is there to stay and wont do any long distance love because its to hard and she wont do that to herself again. When its good to have a plan but this author shows you that even good plans sometimes blow up in your face. Aaron and Mia what a pair. He is a sweetheart and such a romantic person, she is fun loving and together they are electric. With a lot to over come.
Aaron has a great job, travels a lot and doesn't want to settle down. Life is perfect except for love, no woman. Mia on the other hand has been hurt and shields her heart from getting hurt. When Aaron first meets Mia at his dad's retirement party, he is drawn to her. Mel writes the love story allowing the readers to share in both profiles of the main characters. When you start to read it, you don't want to put it down.
This is a great clean romance novel. The roaming Parker brother, Aaron, met Mia at his dad’s retirement party and sparks flew. Aaron works for the movie industry finding places to film movies and travels the world. Mia has been hurt and doesn’t do long distance relationships. These two have chemistry and if Mia can get over her hurt and trust issues they may have a chance.
Overall a good and enjoyable read. The storyline and characters kept me interested throughout the story. I found some parts were a little repetitive but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story as a whole. I have read the first book in this series but you can read this one without reading the first.
