This is a fantasy on some imaginative land. My kindle version started with a map. Hint: detailed maps on a kindle with lots of small writing don't work. You would be much better to have a number of maps of smaller areas that work with a given chapter so you can give more page size to the specific area. Anyway, we have the usual suspects: elves, dwarfs, humans, orcs, giants, dragons and a few extra. The story mainly follows Faolan, and nobody is sure what he is, but he has been raised by two ...more

Dragons, elves, dwarfs, angels, giants and many more mythical creatures inhabit the world of Verdunmull. There are prophecies, curses, romance and so many other tropes.

Story centered around the prophecies made by this mages/creatures written centuries ago. 3 Angel's fall from grace one betrayed and deceived by his 2 brothers, the other two punished for their sin. One by one we are introduced to the players or the people on whom the prophecies are about.
Faolan is a scout who has lost memories

This is a fairly long book, at 446 pages. The language is stilted and the action can get a little slow at times. Despite all of that, I found myself drawn into the story and caring for the characters. Many of the characters have secrets that even they don't know. We know that Faolan, the main protagonist, is more than he seems. We get glimpses of that as those around him occasionally have visions of him in another form. Other characters also have secrets and untapped power within them that they ...more

“Three angels descending from heaven will be the sign of the approaching night” The Ikalreev Prophecy 1:4 “

An ancient war between good and bad that has the potential to destroy the known world will come to fruition if the efforts of a select few fail. Will the citizens of Verdunmell be able to stave off the prophecies and the ensuing war? Or will the immortal beings bring their battles to the earth

This story starts off with some great colorful maps. I was impressed. Then there was a prophecy that was extensive and convoluted and overwhelming right at the beginning of the story. I think if the prophecy was spread out a little it wouldn’t have been so overwhelming. There are fallen angels on a journey of redemption that just don’t make sense to me. The seals protecting Ikalreev are in danger of falling. There are dragons, elves, ogres dwarves, demons, warriors and other fantastical ...more

Verdunmull follows the typical pattern of many fantasy novels (at least since Tolkien) where a small band must come together on a quest to save the world and help the world avoid, or win, an epic battle between the forces of good and evil. It contains plenty of magic, creatures, mystery, prophesies, and intrigue. It is epic fantasy in its highest form. If you love fantasy, then you will absolutely love this one. If you don’t love fantasy, this is still a great book but you may have a harder time ...more

Fantasy journey filled with mythical creatures

The story of Verdunmull and the rise of evil that will bring on an epic battle among the immortals of this world. This fantasy world is filled with magical beings and prophecy which will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. An epic battle is brewing and there may be no way to stop it for destroying this way of life. Characters are developed and the story line is a good journey with lots of unexpected twists as you will find
Exhilarating read

I loved reading this book. I really enjoyed the adventure that this story took me on. I’m so excited for this story because it is a series that I can totally get lost in. This is a fantasy and magical world that has been beautifully created to make you want to be part of it. I found myself drifting off while not reading the book thinking of what was going to happen. As soon as I was done with it, I knew I needed more! I need more continuations of this! Do yourself a favor and

I love how the book starts. The prophecies add depth and mystery that really hooked me into reading the rest.
I was never bored or disappointed. There are mysteries, mages, dragons, and epic battles. I think my favorite part was not knowing what was going to happen next.
In my opinion, I've just found the next Lord of the Rings series. I'm looking forward to more.
I'm excited to say I'm starting the second book this week and gave my copy of Book 1 to my friend. I've gotten a whole bunch of
