About the author

Akira Toriyama (鳥山明) was a Japanese manga artist and character designer. He first achieved mainstream recognition for creating the popular manga series Dr. Slump, before going on to create Dragon Ball (his most famous work) and acting as a character designer for several popular video games such as the Dragon Quest series, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon. Toriyama came to be regarded as one of the most important authors in the history of manga with his works highly influential and popular, particularly Dragon Ball, which many manga artists cite as a source of inspiration.
He earned the 1981 Shogakukan Manga Award for best shōnen/shōjo manga with Dr. Slump, and it went on to sell over 35 million copies in Japan. It was adapted into a successful anime series, with a second anime created in 1997, 13 years after the manga ended.
His next series, Dragon Ball, would become one of the most popular and successful manga in the world. Having sold 260 million copies worldwide, it is one of the best-selling manga series of all time and is considered a key work in increasing manga circulation to its peak in the mid-1980s and mid-1990s. Overseas, Dragon Ball's anime adaptations have been more successful than the manga and are credited with boosting anime's popularity in the Western world. In 2019, Toriyama was decorated a Chevalier of the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for his contributions to the arts.
In October 2024, Toriyama was inducted into the Harvey Awards Hall of Fame.

- Yajirobei che si mangia il primo demone venuto a combattere, e dopo è contentissimo che ne arrivi un altro perché ha ancora fame.

-il gran finale col Demone Piccolo che evoca Shenlong e poi lo distrugge.

Després de l’assassinat d’en Krilin a mans dels esbirros de Satanàs Cor Petit, son Goku busca venjança. Però el poder de Cor Perit és molt superior, fins i tot superior al del mateix mestre Mutenroshi.

En els volums anteriors ja es podia notar un progressiu gir de la sèrie cap a un to més fosc i dramàtic, que en aquest número es consolida. Trobem menys humor i un Goku menys innocent, i pot ser per ahí es perd un poc de la màgia de la sèrie. Però continuem tenint una gran història d’aventures, amb cops d’efecte impactants i amb un dolent molt ben definit, a més d’un gran dibuix.

Goku needs to take the dragon balls out of the enemies hands.

Goku is trying to resurrect Upa's dad, so he needs to gather all the dragon balls. The thing is that Pilaf and his henchman are also trying to gather the dragon balls so that they could be resurrect King Piccolo who who had been defeated by an old enemy. Goku was able to resurrect Upa's dad. Goku and his friends return to the strongest under the heavens tournament where they meet new stronger competitors.

Makhluk asing bernama Piccolo tiba-tiba muncul untuk merebut bola naga. Kamesennin kaget mengetahui bahwa Piccolo bebas karena sebelumnya ia sudah dikalahkan dan disegel ke dalam rice cooker. Ternyata, Pilaf-lah yang telah membebaskannya karena ia masih terobsesi untuk mengumpulkan bola naga sehingga ia bisa menjadi penguasa dunia. Sayangnya, Pilaf tidak mengetahui bahwa Piccolo adalah makhluk yang tak ingin diatur. Dengan begitu Piccolo mengutus anak buahnya untuk mencari bola naga yang lain serta membunuh para ahli bela diri.

Con l'arrivo del grande mago Piccolo la situazione precipita e i toni della serie stessa mutano drasticamente. Siamo davanti al primo vero nemico di Goku: fortissimo, cattivo e assetato di vendetta dopo centinaia di anni di prigionia. Nessuno sembra essere in grado di tenergli testa, nemmeno Goku, e così il potere del drago viene sfruttato dalla persona sbagliata. Con l'aiuto di Yajirobei e Karin, riuscirà a diventare più forte? E la nuvola d'oro è stata distrutta definitivamente?
