Brother’s Best Friend is the second book in Lola Gabriel’s Bears of the Wild, and my feelings towards this one are much the same as my feelings towards the first book. I was hoping this one would live up to the potential, building on interesting elements introduced in the first, but I was disappointed.
As with the first book, everything was very surface level. I expected a lot more drama, a lot more development of the story, but things happened fast and never had chance to grow. Although I enjoyed this one more than the first, it was only a half-star more and not enough to get a three-star rating.
As I have the boxset, I shall be continuing, but I’m not holding out hope.

This is an OK shifter romance, and the couple is OK -- but the story was too short to have as much character development as I like. The author gave a little backstory on Chance and Harlow, but not enough for me to really connect with them. As is typical in shifter romances, this story features instalove. It does have sex scenes, but they are not overly explicit.
Harlow was likable, although I thought she should have stood up to her mother sooner about the arranged marriage. Chance was OK in this book, if a bit dumb about hiding their relationship from Harlow's brother -- but I still can't get past something he did in the first book. I won't give spoilers, but it was awful, and I was surprised that his sister forgave him.
One other thing, and this is just a pet peeve of mine -- but bears do not live in "packs". Bears live in "clans", and wolves live in "packs". That is wrong all thru this series so far.
Overall, this one gets 3 stars from me. If it had more character development, or Chance had not been so awful in the first book, it might have gotten a higher rating. I will probably read the other books in the series, since they are free in Kindle Unlimited. I would not read them if I had to pay for them.

Lola Gabriel does not dissapoint with "Brother's Best Friend" in her "Brothers of the Wild" series. She delivers well-written stories with wonderful characters that grabs your attention quickly and has you hoping that true love always comes out on top. There is a great combination of action, drama, and romance, even some witchcraft and blood curses thrown in.
Harlow, her brother Hunter and Chance were best friends in Juneau when she was young. Chance is still her brother's best friend.
Harlow and her mother moved to Canada years ago leaving her father and brother in Juneau and she's never been back until now and she's brought a friend. At her welcome home dinner with family and childhood friends, she announces she will be bonded to Travis from a pack in Canada. Everyone is totally surprised by this news, especially the childhood friend, the new Alpha, Chance.
When Chance entered the house he accidentally brushed against Harlow's hand. At that moment he just new - she was his mate. Now he's hearing she's to be bonded to someone else, how could this happen? Are they really mates?

Harlow and Chance were friends in Juneau when she was young. He has always been her brother's best friend. She has come home after many years away to announce she will be bonded to Travis from a pack in Canada. When Harlow and Chance see each other, they immediately imprint as mates. Are they destined to be apart forever with her in a loveless relationship and Chance heartbroken? Of course not! This is a HEA paranormal romance but the road to get to the HEA will be a rocky one. I really enjoyed the characters and could feel their pain. I could also feel how close Harlow's brother, Hunter, and Chase were and how torn Harlow and Chase were about not being able to be together. Some heartbreak will be revealed that adds to understanding in the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the story even though I had to put it down and walk away for a few minutes when things got intense. It was definitely worth the time to read it.

Chance and Hunter have been best friends forever. Chance is now Alpha of their pack. Hunter’s lil sister, Harlow, used today follow the two around all the time when she was little and annoyed them. Chance would pull her hair and tease her, but she moved with her mother to Canada and hasn’t been back to Juneau for centuries. Now she’s coming home for a surprise visit with a boyfriend. Hunter has prepared a welcome home dinner and invited Chance to come too. Chance s expecting the same lil girl, but when Harlow answers the door Chance is stunned and speechless at her beauty. The draw each of them feel is so strong. At dinner her douche boyfriend, Travis, announces that they are having a binding ceremony in a few months. Good storyline and lovable characters. There’s suspense and some anxious moments along the way. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Chance and Harlow. Chance is the alpha if his pack. His best friend is Hunter. When they were growing up Hunter's little sister, Harlow would follow them around. When Hunter and Harlow's parents separated, Harlow and her mother Harriett moved to Canada. Chance, Hunter stayed in Alaska. When Harlow comes to visit, she announces to her family that she is going to be bound with Travis. But much to get surprise, she feels sparks and something different when Chance bumps into her. Chance feels it to. This story is about them realizing they are mates but that might not matter. She and Travis are bound together by a spell. Can Chance and Harlow make it work and can they end the spell with out anyone becoming cursed.

This was a fantastic paranormal romance full of twists, suspenses, secrets, heartache, passion, and love. Chance is the alpha of the Fairbanks bear pack. Harlow is the sister of Chance's best friend Hunter. When Harlow makes a visit to Fairbanks sparks fly and Harlow and Chance both find the one person they were destined to be with. However Harlow has a secret that could keep them apart forever and Chance doesn't want to have to choose between love and friendship. Lola Gabriel has created a well written story with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with. A must read that will have readers captivated from beginning to end.

Harlow returns to see her brother before her bonding ceremony, but once she reacquaints herself with Chase, her brother’s best friend, she realizes the arrangement will mean unhappiness. She confides in Chase that there are complications she cannot overcome. Chase feels awkward about telling her brother about his attraction to Harley, but shares about Harley’s agreement. Brother’s Best Friend is a story of a couple striving to resolve an impossible situation. I enjoyed reading this story and recommend it.

But there is so much standing in the way.She is promised to another who is a shady character,and nobody really like him.
And her brother ,how you deal with him?
How do they over come this? It’s exciting, hot, emotional, dramatic with a lot of twists and turns.

Chance and Hunter are best friends they used to tease Hunter’s sister when she was younger and they still laugh about it today, but when Harlow comes back and Chance see’s her she’s not that little girl anymore she’s now a gorgeous woman who is his mate. Even if Chance had gotten Hunter’s blessing Harlow is promised to another, there are complications galore and something just doesn’t seem right about Harlow’s mating and Chance is determined to get to the bottom of it all and claim his mate Harlow. A fantastic fast paced story with plenty going on to keep you entertained and turning the pages and I highly recommend this book.

This was an entertaining read full of angst and drama that lead to a smoking hot HEA. I love the shock people get when a friend's little sis grows up and how hard the adjustment can be ;) In this case, Harlow is now a beautiful woman, recently returned to her home town, and Chance can't get over the fact that he's not thinking about giving her a noogie, anymore. He has some other places to rub in mind, now. Lol! Lots of twists on this path to an HEA, though, full of drama and sizzling chemistry, and I read it in one go. Good fun!

This is a well written book with strong characters in Chance and Harlow who have a hot chemistry together but many obstacles in their way. The author does a great job describing the characters and painting her scenes. She brings tons of drama and misunderstandings as well as twists and turns to keep things interesting. It's an emotional story that had me hooked from start to finish. I loved and would recommend this book.

Brother’s Best Friend by Lola Gabriel is a surprise shifter romance between Hunter’s sister Harlow and his best friend and alpha Chance that occurs when Harlow returns to her father and brother’s hometown in Alaska. What starts off as a trip to visit relatives and introduce the shifter Harlow is planning to bind herself to turns into a trip full of surprising revelations and personal decisions. This is the perfect romance for anyone who enjoys a paranormal second chance love story. Brother’s Best Friend is a sweet surprise of romance between childhood friends.

Next time siblings complain about teasing, check out this family! Hunter and Chase teased Marlow so badly, it is 200 years since she visited home. Chase hadn't seen her since she was 14 and he couldn't imagine her as a grown woman. Then, he saw her and daaaaaannnnng! He recognized her as his mate! Harlow came to visit with, Travis. They were planning a bonding ceremony. Now, how does that work? Chase, fated mate. Travis, bonded partner? Hmmm. Exciting story. A few turns, hops/jumps and sqiggles. Interesting surprises. Good job. Chance hadn't seen his best friends sister in years. Hunter asks Chance to come for dinner when his sister Harlow comes home for a visit. Harlows boyfriend announces that they are to be mated the only problem is Harlow doesn't love the boyfriend and only agreed to bond with him for her mother to become part of the clan. Harlow and Chance are immediately drawn to one another. Chance is sure they are true mates and finds out that Harlow is magically bound to her boyfriend Travis. Can Chance and Harlow find a way to be together? I highly recommend this book and series.

A familiar theme of the best friends little sister all grown up but with a paranormal twist. An unbreakable vow made to be bound to someone from her pack before she meets her true mate. I enjoyed the interactions between Hunter (the brother) and Chance (the true mate) as well as Harlow (the sister and mate). An enjoyable short story.

An absolutely fantastic paranormal romance in the ‘Bears of the Wild’ series. It is an easy read, quite exciting and intriguing. The plot and characters are well developed and the pace is relatively fast - I was hooked from the beginning. There is enough drama, humour, and witty banter to captivate you keeping you on the edge of your seat. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Brother's Best Friend by Lola Gabriel is an amazing story that I have read. This is an amazing story that I have read and fell in love with cause I love rading about shifters exspecially bear shifters. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about shifters exsecially bear shifters and paranormal romances in their stories.

I've read several books written by Lola Gabriel; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

It was entertaining and captivating. It was well written and the storyline was spot on. The little steam was nice. The family dynamics was pretty crazy and the love shared between the characters were remarkable. It was an overall a great read.
