Helping Kerrick was one thing, getting tagged for a mission of his own quite another …
His heart ached to hear a young girl had been kidnapped while at a hotel in Thailand, waiting for her father to arrive. But nothing is ever as it seems, and this case isn’t even close to simple.
Lorelai spent the last seven years enjoying her young charge, Amelia Rose. Tutoring the daughter of a wealthy business owner added perks to the job, like holidays around the world. In all these years Lorelai had never once seen the downside to having big money–until the holiday in Thailand where Amelia Rose is targeted, and they were both kidnapped.
Griffin managed to rescue the kidnapped victims, but tracing the kidnappers was a whole different story and brought the group a little too close to home …

Griffin is the second book in the new Maverick series. When the daughter of US newspaper mogul living in the UK is kidnapped in Thailand, they call the Mavericks to the rescue. This book had all the twist and turns that are expected from a Dale Mayer book. If you like any of the other series Heroes for Hire, SEALs of Steal, K9, or SEALs of Honor, you will love this new series.

This is the second book in the Maverick series by Dale Meyer and it is equally as good as the first. Griffin Thomas had been a highly rated nave SEAL but was looking for a new direction in life. He had been selected by a US government black ops division to assist Kerrick, another ex navy SEAL in the successful rescue of a research scientist but now he was being asked to head another rescue, Jax was to help him and Kerrick was to be on communications, anything they needed they just had to ask but otherwise they were on their own. Amelia Rose was the eleven year old daughter of Gerard Whitaker, a wealthy newspaper mogul, she had been holidaying in Thiland along with Lorelei James, her tutor, and her nurse who was an old family retainer. All three were kidnapped and Amelia Rose and Lorelei had to watch the brutal killing of the nurse as a warning for them to cooperate. Gerard had connections in high places and he contacted MI6 who in turn contacted the Mavericks to help rescue his daughter. Griffin and Jax headed for Thailand, it was two against a small army of kidnappers, who would win ? Who had instigated the kidnapping ? was it an inside job involving newer members of the household staff who had been employed by the family despite reservations from the head of security ? was it indeed one of the family ? Were Amelia Rose's two brothers involved, their father kept them on a tight rein and both stood to gain from her death? was it her uncle who always felt inferior to his brother ? was her mother, or any of her many lovers, involved ? in a roundabout way she also stood to gain. This book contains frantic action, treachery, murder, kidnapping, edge of your seat suspense, and of course romance, it is a real page turner that I didn't want to put down. Although this is a standalone book the epilogue leads nicely into the next story and I really hope that there will be many more.

Ex-SEAL Griffin Thomas had assisted Kerrick in the previous book in this series and is now going on his own black-ops mission with Kerrick only doing communications he wonders who will support him especially when he discovers he needs to rescue 11-year old Amelia Rose who is the daughter of newspaper mogul Gerard Whitaker together with her nurse Mary and tutor Lorelei James who have all been kidnapped during a family holiday in Thailand. He is allocated another former SEAL Jax and so they leave to try and get there to rescue them as soon as they can - not realising that when they get there they will find one of the three is dead, one is a mature mixture of a child and woman, and one just captivates him. Can they get there in time, and can they unpick who in the family is behind the entire plot?
This was a great story with both strong men and strong women who managed to work together to get everyone safe as well as work out the responsibilities for all the various actions. It was nice to read a story with a mixture of ages of the various players in the complicated plot behind the kidnap. I loved the developing relationship between Griffin and Lorelei and how it seemed to build slowly from victim and hero into something more respectful and equal. Well written, enjoyable and easy to read it was addictive all the way through. Contains some sexual content at the end.
We met Griffin in the first book of this series. He was Kerrick's back-up, now he will get his own one and done mission. It comes fast on the tail of the last mission but time is critical. This time he's given a choice of who he'll have as backup, he chooses Jax. Kerrick will be working with him behind the scenes as well. Getting to Thailand is going to be interesting and very speedy.
What was to be a family holiday in Thailand has turned into a nightmare for Amelia Rose, her tutor Lorelei and her nurse Mary. They managed to escape once, but as a punishment they killed Mary in front of them. Now they had to hope the message Lorelei gave to a maid reaches someone to help.
Help in the form of Griffin and Jax comes and intercepts them at a most fortuitous time. An accident blocks the road and they sneak the girls into their vehicle and leave.
Getting the girls to safety once again utilizes some unconventional means. The investigation into the who and why though, that becomes even more intriguing and scary.
I'm loving this new series, it has lots of intrigue, suspense, action, love and some heat.
Another hit and the second in the new series The Mavericks by this author. This time it’s Griffin, who was also recruited for this elite team and is tasked to find a young girl, Amelia who’s dad is a powerful man in the media industry and her tutor, Lorelei. With little to go on Griffin uses all his resources to locate the two and goes on a daring rescue to free them. They don’t know who to trust and use many resources and modes of transportation to get the two back to Amelia’s dad, only to find that the threat is closer to home and they have to weed out who wants the family to suffer. A great read with some steam, action and suspense that had me once again flipping the pages. The journey is complex and the author did an amazing job of keeping the story flowing without missing a beat. The characters were great and I love the fact that there is no drama between the couple and they all work together to find who the responsible party is. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Griffin by Dale Mayer The Mavericks Series Book Two Griffin Tomas had just returned from his first mission with the Mavericks, along with his buddy Kerrick. Barely back from that mission and they want to send him out again. A kidnapping. He wasn't going to let some young woman get hurt...so he was off again. At least he had Jax along with him.
Lorelei James is a tutor for an eleven-year-old girl named Amelia Rose. When they head out to Thailand for a vacation, along with Mary, the old nurse, things turn bad for them all. Kidnapped in a strange land with a small hope that the note she gave to a housekeeper in the hotel gets them help.
Rescuing them isn't quite enough. There is a threat to the young girl and her father and Griffin and Jax need to know if it's a business associate...or someone closer to home. Especially since Griffin has a stake in keeping the lovely tutor safe and sound. Action-packed, page-turning romance. **Sensual content and language https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Griffin has been assigned as lead on his own mission for the Mavericks this time. With an old acquaintance, Jax, at his side, they race across the world to Thailand to rescue a young girl who has been kidnapped along with her tutor and her nurse. After they snatch the victims from the kidnappers while en route to another compound, the Mavericks along with their charges race across the world back to England tracing the clues to find out who has put this kidnapping scheme in motion. I finished this book in one day because I refused to put it down. I had to know what was going to happen on the next page! Lots of suspense, danger, and finger pointing going on in this book. I like how the author handles the romance without stuffing it down the readers throat. Its very subtle and tastefully brought to fruition.

Griffin and Jax have 24 hours to travel across the world to Thailand. With Griffin as lead, he and Jax need to rescue the young daughter of a communications mogul Amelia Rose, her nurse, and her tutor Lorelei. Even though they are rescued, the danger isn't over. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This book can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone. For me, this book was even more exciting than the first one in the series. I really like that Kerrick from the previous book is now their cyberteam contact. Amelia Rose is a bright precocious girl and Lorelei is a strong woman. I also liked that even though they were both strong, they still experienced emotional effects of the kidnapping. Griffin and Jax are perfect heroes in being vigilant and keeping them safe. The romance in the story is realistic. I enjoyed reading this book very much and look forward to reading the next book with Jax as the lead.
Now that you’ve finished Book 1 (Kerrick), you know that barely a week after returning from his mission with Kerrick, Griffin has been offered a mission of his own with his friend Jax as his second. In Book 2 they will be going to Thailand to rescue a young girl who was kidnapped from London along with her nurse and tutor while awaiting her father’s arrival. Garbled word was that she had married in Thailand and would not be returning, but the fact that she is only eleven years old indicates that this was no voluntary elopement. So, Griffin and Jax are on their way to the Orient, transported via an interestingly creative itinerary of vehicles through locations that make “slow boat to China” look like a pleasure cruise. Action and frustration in every chapter, lots of excitement, too. Great center story in this new-release trilogy.

This is the second book in this suspenseful, romance series. We first met Griffin in book one, and now it's his turn to run a mission. He's sent to Thailand after a young girl, her tutor, and her nurse are kidnapped. Turns out Amelia Ros has a tracking device implanted in her, so that should make finding her easier, or so it would seem. But the fact that she's being held in a large, guarded complex makes it more complicated as does the fact that they can't pinpoint exactly where in the complex she is located.
But as Griffin and Jax get further along in the rescue, questions arise as to who was the actual target and why? Are there others involved besides the kidnappers in Thailand? And the more time Griffin and Lorelai spend together, the more they have to fight their attraction to each other.
This is a complex, suspenseful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and there's also plenty of attraction between Griffin and Lorelai.
The second book in this new series is just as good as the first! Griffin and Jax, the 2-man team, hand picked to travel to Thailand to rescue an 11 year old girl, Amelia Rose and her tutor, Lorilei, from kidnappers who took them from their hotel while on a family vacation.
I really enjoyed this fast-paced hit-the-ground running kind of story. It has extensive travel, murder, mystery and sexy warriors to rescue and keep the two females safe. Griffin has to always be one step ahead of the kidnappers if they want to survive this mission and return the child to her father.
Full of excitement and a lot of secrets, this is a mystery that is tight to unwind and you won’t be disappointed in the outcome! It also has its humor and heartfelt moments that round out the emotional journey for this group. I loved the “who done it” aspect and the measures taken to solve it. It also has a sweet HEA to boot!
Griffin Tomas was barely home a week before he was contacted for another mission with The Mavericks. He will be running this covert op with Jax Darrum at his side and the awesome backup provided by the unseen team with Kerrick as his point of contact.
Kidnap victims awaiting his rescue in Thailand include 11 year old Amelia Rose, her tutor Lorelei and an older family nurse. But this turns out to be far from any typical type of abduction, with lives clearly at risk.
Griffin, Jax and the survivors must stay on the move to remain safe as they learn who is determined to cause harm. Their path is filled with twists, turns, suspense and surprises as some deep relationships are formed and others are ended.
Griffin, Book 2 of The Mavericks is another page turner in this new series. Looking forward to reading Jax, Book 3.

Kerrick, Griffin, and Jax, are the beginning of the Mavericks. Former Seals who have reached that milestone in their lives that they are not sure where they want to go next. Griffin, doesn't even make it home before he is off on his own mission. He is headed to Thailand for a kidnapped nanny and her charge. Things are not what they seem from the beginning. The nurse has been killed and the Nanny and little girl are missing. Jax has joined Griffin in this suspense-filled book. Not only is Lorelei resourceful and has escaped once with the girl and been captured again. She is constantly on the lookout for any means to escape again. Griffin and Jax are not far behind and are working on their own plan to get the girls free.
Ms. Dale Mayer is a premier author whose talents know no bounds. She can write on any subject and have you enthralled I love all her series. This new series looks to be another super hit for Ms. Mayer.
I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 2 of 3 in the new military romance series —The Mavericks.
The Mavericks is a black-ops covert government sanctioned group of special operators. The book revolves around Griffin & Lorelai.
Griffin is asked to join a The Mavericks new elite group by Kerrick after his successful assistance with Kerricks Maverick mission. Lorelai is working as a nanny for a powerful British businessman. Lorelai, Amelia Rose & her governess are kidnapped while awaiting Amelia’s father to join them on vacation in Thailand.
Lorelai & the others briefly escape only to be recaptured & the governess killed as a supposed ‘example’ to Lorelai & Amelia. Griffin manages to rescue them, but figuring out who/why & tracing the kidnappers brought the ‘story’ home.
It’s a good story, more of a ‘who done it’ mystery, but still good.

I really enjoyed reading this story . This is the second story in the Mavericks series . It can be read alone but it takes place right after Kerrick ended . Griffin just steps off his flight when the Mavericks call . A young girl Amelia Rose and her nanny Lorelai have been kidnapped in Thailand . Griffin along with Jax head for Thailand . They manage to rescue both Amelia Rose and Lorelai , but they realize soon that this kidnapping is close to home to close to home . This story is action packed,so intense I could not put it down . The suspense kept me flipping the pages . I love this series and the way the romance blends into the story seemlessly . This is another fabulous story. I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .

Book 2 in the Mavericks is Griffins book, it is his turn to lead a mission. The team is him, till they bring Jax on board. Mavericks is black ops, and even blacker than black ops, deep. He is to rescue an 11yr old girl, her tutor and her grandmother - in Thailand. This book had all the makings of a well done soap opera. Hunky military, smart tutor, precocious 11 yr old girl and her grandmother. There are twists, turns, and one of them doesn't survive. The romance grows naturally, doesn't feel rushed. The intrigue is pretty much off the charts, we find out it was a someone close to the family who had her kidnapped. So many of them could have been the guilty party, and who the culprit(s) is was really well done! Thank you for the arc and such an enjoyable read. All thoughts and opinions are my own, which I freely share.
Griffin was a former Navy Seal who was paired with Jax as a Maverick team to rescue an 11 year old girl, Amanda Rose, and her tutor, Lorelai who had been kidnapped in Thailand. . Amanda Rose was the daughter of a publishing mogul and developed numerous enemies in his international connections. Griffin and Jax travel across the globe to locate the kidnapped victims as they were guided by the Maverick team. The search for the Amanda Rose and Lorelai takes many circuitous routes guided by the black ops team. There is danger, intrigue and treachery throughout the story. Amanda Rose is delightful pre-teen who is wise beyond her years. Lorelai is very protective and supportive of the young girl. Griffin and Jax discern that the evil villains are part of the father's immediate family who are driven by vengeance and greed. The criminals are captured in the family residence in fast paced, page turning action. This is a thrilling story with romance between Lorelai and Griffin. This is second story in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in thrillers. Dale Mayer is a gifted story teller.
Griffin just finished up a mission with Kerrick and now he is given a mission of his own. One he isn't sure that he wants until he hears what the mission is.
An 11-year-old girl is kidnapped along with her nanny and tutor in Thailand. How can Griffin say no? He also has a partner for this, one that he knows. So Griffin and Jax set out to rescue the girl and her the two women in charge of her care.
This book was full of action and questions as to why Amelia Rose was kidnapped. There was an adventure along the way and a few twists and turns until we finally figured out who was responsible for all the chaos.
Amelia Rose is an exceptional girl who knows way too much at 11. She is a sweetheart and you can't help but fall in love with her. Sparks fly between Lorelai, her tutor, and Griffin. Lorelai hasn't had an easy time of it but Griffin may be just what she needs.
Griffin was assisting Kerrick in book 1, and now he’s back to go on his own mission. Amelia Rose has been kidnapped and a note is sent out saying she’s married. Griffin is angry that she was forced to marry against her will, and then finds out the shocking details of who Amelia Rose is. Now he isn’t just angry..he is ready to lock and load. Lorelei is nanny to Amelia Rose, and she takes her job seriously. She loves Amelia Rose, and will do whatever it takes to protect her. I love the strong females in this series of books, as well as their hunky rescuers. Outstanding series so far, and I look forward to the next book in the series.

This book grabs hold of you from the first page and doesn't let go until the very end. The characters in the book are the kind of characters that you fall in love with at the start. The story, the 2nd in the Mavericks Series, includes a girl who grabs a hold of your heart and has you rooting for her through the entire book. She and the other characters keep you wanting more even after the book is finished. I loved how the story was so realistic and how the characters all are so real. The story-line is written so that you don't want to put the book down for any reason! Loved this book as much as the first one in the series and look forward to more!

There are plenty of twists and suspense in this book along with action, attraction and a sweet girl who needs to be protected. I think Lorelai and Griffin are the perfect match but her job versus his are worlds apart but with everything going on they have the chance to see if there spark can be more but her boss is not interested in Griffin being around his daughter and this could be because he thinks there are no other threats or worse he is the threat. You definitely keep switching who you think is behind everything and then the way it unravels there are people you feel really sorry for and others who you want to ensure they get their come up-pence !!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Griffin is an ex-Navy SEAL who after being asked to assist in a mission now finds himself part of the Mavericks which is a group of ex-military personnel who aren’t restrained by any rules except for their own. His mission takes him to Thailand to rescue Amelia Rose and Lorelei, her teacher, from the people who abducted them.
Amelia is the daughter of a powerful media magnate whose father will do anything to rescue his daughter and that includes commissioning the assistance of the Mavericks. Rescuing Amelia and Lorelei was difficult enough but finding those responsible will be the biggest challenge of all.
This story takes you on a wild ride filled with twists, adventure and romance.
The second book in the new series followed Griffin, one we’ve met in the first book. He was Kerrick’s backup. Now he led the mission, with physical backup from Jax and Kerrick in the background. Another kidnapping emergency.
There was the usual suspense and sexy times, not that they’re any less important. They’re great, kept me into the story. But, I liked the part of ‘finding the why’ most. I found it to be the most intriguing part of the book. Interesting to peel out layers of people.
Dale Mayer did great with this new series, and hopefully she could continually produce something fresh in each of her series.
I was provided a complimentary copy by the author / publisher through Booksprout, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.
The plot idea could have been good, but it was not handled with the same skill as others of her books.
The dialogue is unrealistic and inappropriate to the situation - who is going to talk about relationships in the middle of being rescued from a kidnapping? And even if the female is ditzy enough (which is not how she is portrayed) what rescuer, focused on the mission, would get into such a discussion?
For reasons unknown the author decided to make her target family in this book British. So she involved, peripherally, MI6. Which stands for Military Intelligence. Which does not involve itself in kidnappings (unless, maybe?, the target was political). Next time, try that other famous bastion of the UK, Scotland Yard.
This is book 2 in The Mavericks series and it features Griffin and Lorelei. Let me start off with the stories in this series leave NO new loose threads. Every single scenario, idea or hint of evidence is thoroughly explored. Every plot, every plan is described in detail. Griffin is sent to Thailand to rescue a kidnapped 11-year-old girl and her tutor. I love how the attraction between Griffin and the tutor, Lorelei, happens gradually. They know there’s an attraction there but there’s more important things going on around them.
This story reads like a game of “Who done it?” The characters are fabulous and the story line is exciting but has a bit too many details.
Griffin has been requested by a new group to rescue Lorelei and her 11 year old charge Amelia Rose from their kidnappers. Amelia Rose's nurse was also kidnapped and then murdered before Griffin gets to them. Now comes the time to find out who is behind the kidnapping and what else they may want besides money. Amelia Rose's father is reliving the nightmare of his own kidnapping many years ago when his oldest son was murdered and he fears the same thing could happen to Amelia Rose. This is the second book of the Maverick series and is as good as the first one.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Tense and full of suspense this is a plot that goes right to the end of the book, the clues could lead to anyone involved. Greed is at the route of many kidnappings, families can be torn apart by the resulting drama that is involved. Both Griffin and Jax are great with the victims giving support and not being condescending by telling them as much as they can and explaing what's happening so they feel a part of what happens. Both Lorelei and Amelia Rose are strong and determined, both equally willing to help put the clues together and get them to safety. I'm loving this latest new series by Dale just as much as I enjoy catching up with all her other series, the twists and turns always keep it a bit edgy so you get caught up in the excitement and fast flow of reading.
After helping Kerrick, Griffin is tagged for his own mission when a young girl, her tutor and nurse are kidnapped at a hotel in Thailand. I loved this suspenseful military romance from the very beginning and just couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what was going to happen. Griffin Thomas and Lorelai James had electric chemistry and couldn't stay away from each other and the secondary characters of Jax Darrum and Amelia Rose added to my reading pleasure. Can't wait to read more about Jax in book three. I received an advance reader copy of "Griffin" via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
