Because of fear King Acrisius tries killing his daughter and grandson. Perseus is said to kill him one day and he hates this.
By throwing them away he gives them a better life with a fisherman named Dictys and his wife. Perseus had been born the son of Zeus after his mom was locked away in a prison to never have a child because of the prophecy.
This book has the adventure that Perseus goes on to get Medusa's head after king Polydectes demands it. When Perseus returns with it and a new bride too he finds it was a set up.
I wasn't into this. I love the magic tree house books by these two, but I just couldn't get into this.
